We had the summer squash bisque & it was fantastic. The wait staff was very friendly and made you feel welcome. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. Definitely would visit next time we are in town!

This was my first visit to Mack and Kate's, and the person I went with couldn't believe that I hadn't been there yet; so we went. Parking is tricky to find a place, the decor and atmosphere was interesting-- they pack a lot of tables into a small area, and the staff friendly ( I suspect they were more friendly... More

I wrote a review of what use to be our favorite restaurant in Nashville. We had a 730 reservation and we reported in at 7:20ish. We were overlooked as every couple/group who arrived after us were seated. At 830, we complained and were seated. We did get an apology but nothing else. Not complimentary wine, dessert, etc. I paid the... More

Shrimp and grits were great. Shrimp were extra large. Pork and mac and cheese was also a hit. Diver scallops were cooked perfect. Appetizer of crab cake had ample crab with a nice consistency. Only disappointment was after being seated it was almost 15 minutes until the server came over.

I met a friend for dinner while visiting the area preparing to move to Franklin. The bartender was our server. He was very knowledgeable about spirits and liqueurs. They did not have an official gluten free menu; however, he arranged for the chef to prepare a special dish to accommodate me. The food was delicious, service and atmosphere amazing!

1st time visitor in April, 2016. Starting with a side salad, the basil vinaigrette was very good, something I'd buy if I found a bottle of it. For my entree, I had Kate's Bouillabaisse which was a bit pricey, but well worth it considered the amount of delicious seafood loaded into this large bowl. I often find Bouillabaisse either good... Description
Sophisticated Southern and Gourmet Country are great ways to describe the cuisine at the charming Mack & Kate"s Cafe. Named after two sisters, MacKenzie and Kathleen, our family owned and operated establishment will make you feel right at home. Started in a small, sleepy town, Mack & Kate's humbled beginnings took place in a small service station. This charming little destination dining spot grew over eight years, resulting in the Strawn Family relocating Mack & Kates to Franklin, TN.
We enjoy seeing our friends from our early days and our new friends here in Franklin.
We use the freshest and finest when it comes to our ingredients and always support local farmers and growers. We pride our self in our accommodating and knowledgeable service team and the ability to consistently feed our customers what they are looking for; the freshest from the best.
