We go there several times a year for birthday and anniversary dinners. We have to travel 40 miles one way but it is always worth it. I always get the sausage, peppers and angel hair pasta combination. The service is always great.

It was a quiet Monday evening when we dined at Mauricio's on our way north. We were seated by ourselves in a small room, which had maybe half a dozen tables. The background music was '50s pop, not too loud. The calamari appetizer was hot and crisp. The house salad was very nice, with lots of olives and other Italian... More

We really appreciate all your comments and happy that you enjoyed yourself while dinning with us. I am sorry we don't offer a smaller portion of lasagna but its better to have a little more than not enough. You are always welcome to take it home and enjoy later. We look forward to your return. Our friends we were staying with took us to their favorite Italian Restaurant. Such a pretty place. Kinda our server was very attentive helping with our choices the restaurant was busy with a couple of large groups but it did not hinder our experience. I had the Italian sausage and peppers with fresh tomatoes over angel hair pasta(amazing). Hubby had... More

The food, the atmosphere, the service...this restaurant is located inside of an old restored home. Surrounded by dim lighting and antique treasures, the atmosphere is fabulous for any type of occassion. Reservations recommended. Parking is a little difficult as it is on street parking but never had a problem. Off the beaten path of restaurant row...lovely experience every time we've... More

Mauricios is one of our favorite places to go out for a date night. Excellence on every level and always leave happy. The filet they serve is very tender and cooked to order. The veggies they serve are typically perfectly cooked but tonight they were too crunchy for me but the tiramisu made up for that lol. Heavenly dessert!!!

In town for a few days with a conference. We wanted something nice, and not a chain. Cookeville is almost all chain restaurants. And we found Mauricio's... It is a little bit step back in time as far as the decor... But the service, the menu, the wine list and bar, and you know you are in for a treat.... More

Here is a treat for you!! Late Fall, 2003, I was introduced to this vernacular, late Victorian Farm House on the west side of Historic Cookeville where much to my surprise, I discovered there is real Italian cuisine in the rural environs of the Upper-Cumberland; I do mean real.... The fair maiden who lead me here was a captivating Lass... More

Visiting from out of town for a couple of nights. Really had high hopes and was disappointed. I know marinara can be an individual preference but my wife and I both found this sweet and lacking in depth of flavor. My lasagna was cooked well but drowned by sweet marinara. Caesar salad was somehow sweet too and overdressed. Waitress did... More
