Hey Y'all! Stan's Restaurant has been servin' up the best in country cooking and friendly hometown service for generations of travelers and locals alike. We've been in these parts since 1947, and we know how Country Cookin' should be done, from scratch and with love. Breakfast around here steals the show, but don't worry, you can get it all day long. Come enjoy house favorites like our Po'ke Chops & Aigs, Country Ham, and Homemade Biscuits & Sawmill Gravy. If yer feelin' real country, give our Po'ke Brains & Aigs a try, they won't disappoint! Our real pit smoked BBQ is a must try, it's the real deal fo'ks. From our Kracklin' Cornbread, Turnip Greens, and Black-Eyed Peas to our fried Frog Legs...We mean to keep the Country in Country Cookin'! Stopping at Stan's is a Middle Tennessee tradition for truckers, travelers, and even a few famous fo'ks making their way to Music City. Come in and browse our antiques, souvenirs, and a few oddities you won't find anywhere else. Our Country Store (it's the original, by the way) stocks local jams, jellies, and the like to take home and enjoy. We ship our Famous Country Smoked Hams, Specialty Bacon and Sausage anywhere in the world! Our order was for take out since we were staying at the hotel directly behind the restaurant. It took quite a while for the food to be ready and then some of the food was cold and some of it was steaming hot, as if the plate was microwaved instead of cooked. I wound up throwing the veggie plate away. The green beans were so overcooked that they were a gray mush, the mashed potatoes had too much pepper on it to be edible, and the 3 bean salad was just odd. I'm not that picky, especially when I am as hungry as I was then. The club sandwich was better than the veggie plate, but someone put so much mayo on it that all the bread was very soggy and mayo squirted out when I bit into it. On the plus side, the waitresses were all very nice and more than one apologized when they noticed we were still waiting for our food. I could understand a long wait if it was busy, but most tables were empty at the time. The decor is nice and there are a lot of interesting things in the gift shop, but the prices were a bit high. I don't think the restaurant prices were high, but the quality of the food and cooking just wasn't worth it.

Second time to stop in while traveling and we were not disappointed. The club sandwich was a huge treat with thick slices of turkey and ham and thick cut bacon, tomato, Swiss and American cheeses, lettuce and mayo. Along with onion rings. Very tasty and enough to split.

Average food at above average price. Food and service was mediocre at best. Corn bread was flat and round and tasted awful. Pork chop was good but burnt. Pulled pork was good. Waitress was average. Long line when we got there, however the place was almost empty.

Not the cleanest establishment I’ve seen. You seat yourself and the waitress came pretty quickly. Not the friendliest waitress I’ve ever had but maybe she was having a rough morning. Our food came out fast but mine was wrong and when we got her attention and told her she said I confused her by asking for cheddar cheese. She took it back to the kitchen, when she brought it back my omelet was correct but I was still missing my side of bacon, never got that by the way. She yelled over at us once to see if we needed anything else and then brought the bill. My husband said his pancakes were dry. If it were the only place to eat I guess we would go back but if there’s a choice of somewhere else I would choose the somewhere else.

First time to eat at Stan's

Stopped today while traveling and really enjoyed our visit. I got the country fried steak with mashed potatoes with gravy and pinto beans and my husband got the smoked roast beef with mashed potatoes with gravy and turnip greens. The food was amazing and our server was great.

What can you say about pig's brains for breakfast? Knew we were in for a treat. Husband has hillbilly breakfast including red eye gravy,grits, country ham crispy hash browns and eggs. I had bacon omelet filled with real bacon pieces and cheese. I only saw empty plates and satisfied patrons.

Not sure where to start! The waitress was amazing. We had an appetizer of fried green tomatoes, that was delicious. They were out of all kinds of their steaks. -Hamburger steak meal was way OVER done, dry & tough! No baked potatoes. -Catfish dinner was horrible, to the point I couldn’t eat it! It had a nasty fishy scent and not sure what type of oil it was cooked in but it was horrible. Hush puppies was horrible not sure what type of meal it was made of. Very doughy and horrible. -BBQ plate was ok, the pork wasn’t fresh. Seemed to be reheated of some sort. Our daughter had an allergic reaction to something as were leaving the restaurant. Not sure if it was the food or what. But her skin broke out with rashes. She only has seasonal allergies. So this wasn’t the norm... Cracker Barrel across the street is most definitely the better choice to eat.. However they do serve beverages!!

If you are thinking of stopping here, just don’t. They were out of ribeyes, sirloins, crackling cornbread and pulled pork. Restaurant floor was dirty—-paper and food smeared on it. No COVID protection here—all the bottles of ketchup, sauces on table along with menu’s with no cleaning in between. Onion rings were batter only—-yucky.

Horrible service!

Drove an hour to get here. Walked in with my family of 8. The restaurant is half full with parties of 5, 4 and smaller. We sit down as it said to do on the sign. Waitress comes up and says we can’t seat big parties right now because we don’t have enough cooks. The place already had approx 30 people in there eating! What the heck ???? Do not patronize this place. What a joke.

What can I say good about this ? Nothing. Slow service, Food was either tough, burnt or just not good..Expensive..Hope you read the reviews before you eat and not after. Do yourself a favor and go to Cracker Barrel across the street.

Very Disappointed (30 + year patron)

Not what it was of course. Everyone has problems getting help these days but service was very lacking. 10:30AM Friday Cracker Barrel across street was packed and few customers in Stan’s. What does that tell you. Food was great but I can cook myself. I eat out for service. One Mexican fellow working his tail off and no one else. At the counter of the store the cashier couldn’t speak enough English to communicate so we just left. Goodbye to a decades old landmark business.

Owner very unhelpful!

The gas station machine locked our credit card into the machine. After 40 mjnutes, the owner was called and his ONLY response was to cancel our credit card and leave it in the machine!! I cannot believe the lack of care or concern about the situation. I would have only given 1 star, but the employees did try to help, especially Rose.

Just wanted a bite to eat

Visited at supper time and was not real hungry. Everything happened within a timely manner and the food was very good. Waitress did a good job but bless her you could see she was stressed, with it being pretty busy she was all over the place, and I only saw one other waitress. There was a guy cleaning tables and the crowd was steady. Glad to see these small places staying in business. We try and patronize all of them we can. Overall great experience!

Stan’s is the worst restaurant on I65

This Restaurant served the worst food I’ve had in decades. I ordered the cheeseburger well done. They served an almost raw bubba burger and cold fries. I also ordered the pizza puff. I got a folded microwaved gas station something that was still cold. Then last but not least, I asked if the Mac’n cheese was good and made in house, I suppose they opened the box in the kitchen and overcooked the food in house. How can you mess up Mac’n cheese? If you’re ever in this neighborhood do yourself a favor and pass this restaurant by. It is by far the worst place I’ve eat in a long time.

I know everywhere is struggling for help. But let me say, the tables were wiped off using maple syrup apparently, absolutely disgusting. In my opinion the waitresses came at a timely manor, but the table behind us waiting 50 minutes for food and walked out. Menus are wore and ragged and the torn plastic has food all in it. So if you asked me for one word……… UNSANITARY
