Had a great welcome and found the staff very very friendly. Had a couple of drinks and food. Would definitely visit again and the atmosphere was awesome. Virgina was extremely friendly and the young barman was lovely (sorry didn’t get his name)

Great bar with a good atmosphere. Helpful and friendly staff. We only had a couple of drinks but the food did look good. Reasonable prices
I went here after 10:00 pm on a Sunday night and was pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen was still open. I got some great fish and chips at a reasonable price. The beer was also quite good.
Strange pub, smoking allowed. Beers fine. Food ok. Clearly a local pub. Staff helpful. Probably not somewhere to stay all evening.
We were turned away at 1:35 on a rainy Wednesday afternoon because my kids are 20. We hadn’t even ordered yet! There was maybe 1 other table! I hadn’t even planned on drinking. I should’ve known there would be a problem when I saw ashtrays...on the table - gross. I’m glad we were turned away otherwise we wouldn’t have found the adorable little River Street Deli with its delicious food, free parking and super friendly staff! I gave them 5 stars!More
For anyone who loves a pub, this is your spot downtown. Large beer selection and fresh hot food. Friendly staff.
Went there to get a few drinks with friends, was completely ignored and disrespected. Horrible service. Servers with horrible attitudes. Had a blonde server named Ed that MAYBE checked on us once. Will never be going again… if you don’t want to be serving… find...another job. Terrible experience.More
Wonderful pub stop to hangout with friends, always great atmosphere & conversation with staff. Brandon was the best!
Awesome service and the food was delicious!!! There were five of us and we all enjoyed the food. Service was friendly, funny and quick. You can smoke inside, but no one was actually smoking when we were there.
Great vibe and friendly folks - FYI that smoking is permitted - definitely not our thing 😐. Great local craft beer and spirits selection.
They have an extensive beer menu that looked great, but we went with the old standby of Guinness. Our server was very friendly and answered our questions easily. One of the things she told us was that about 90% of the items they serve are...made there from scratch. I had the fish and chips and DH had the rueben. He enjoyed his sandwich, but I thought the fish and chips was phenomenal. Cod was done just right, the breading crispy and tasty and the fries crunchy. Perfection. The one drawback, which has been brought up by others is that they allow smoking inside and outside. Luckily, we were there when they opened at 5 PM, so there were very few customers. I might reconsider going when they were packed with a crowd.More
Very impressive small Irish pub. We loved it from the moment we walked in - great dark wood decor inside. There is also a patio out back, but we ate inside as our preference. The service was fantastic, and the food was AMAZING. We didn't...order anything fancy (sandwiches, standard Irish fare), but everything was really well prepared, well presented, and tasted delicious. The side Caesar salads were generous and spot-on perfect. This place has landed a great chef! Super value for the price. I am choosing "mid range" below, but prices were on the lower side of what I may consider mid range ($8 - $12). Highly Recommend! This was our group's favorite spot for our time visiting Chattanooga. We would all definitely go back.More
This bar has the rudest staff I have ever encountered. No customer service at all. It’s almost like they didn’t want any business.
I went to eat there Sat afternoon and sat outside. I am a local. I ordered the turkey reuben. I said I wanted the dressing for it on the side. It was covered in dressing and had a side of it as well. It did...not come with a pickle nor even a side...no side at all...no chips or even a small side! I ordered a salad with it. Thank God or it would not have worked at all...Not only that, it was like a grilled cheese sandwich...bread covered in oil! I should have sent it back...I am mad at myself for not doing so! I also noticed they had the outside door locked to the outdoor seating areas, so u couldnt go in or out that way. It wasnt locked about a month ago. I understand that though, I guess.More
Only downside to HOTD is you must be 21, which has its ups and downs. You're guaranteed not to have to deal with someones 2 year old crying :) But I really wish I could take my 18 year old son!! They have pool tables...and darks and the food is good, beer is cheap!More
