Hands down the BEST sushi and Thai food in Chattanooga! I’ve tried numerous sushi dives in the area and keep coming back to Sweet Basil for their sushi, in my opinion it sits #1. I’ve tried multiple Thai dish options and would highly recommend the Masaman curry, Pang Nang Curry, Pad Thai, but my newfound favorite is Yum Voon (pictured). We also highly recommend the Gyoza, sweet basil cups, Tom Kai soup. For lunch they have meal specials so you can typically try an array of a few things for lower pricing. My only complaint is that it’s not closer to my house, but it’s worth the 30 min drive!

Thai Basil is very good. Their prices are reasonable, the service is efficient. The basil rolls, known as summer rolls at most places are very good, but their bento box for $14.95 is probably the best deal.

Their Fried Spring Rolls and Sarong Shrimp are simply delicious starts to the meal. The Shrimp Tom-Yum-Kung soup is so flavorful and is some of the best I’ve ever eaten. The Spicy Green Curry and Penang Curry are our favorite dishes. The owner imports authentic Thai spices to make these dishes. The Spicy Basil Leaves with chicken and the Crispy Duck are also well prepared and never disappoint. We love their food and the owner is a wonderful person and she takes great pride in serving her customers.

The first two times we went the food was excellent but the last time (today) the food was very subpar. In all 3 dishes the chicken and meat was rubbery and overcooked and the rice was undercooked. The curry was very watery. Almost like leftovers that were repurposed. The fresh rolls were still very good but the one container of dipping sauce was only 1/2 full. Very disappointed as I thought we had found a good consistent Thai rest. in Chattanooga

we ordered on a Saturday night via doordash. It took about an hour. However the food was very average. The tofu and vegetable soup was okay. No extra sauces, soy, hot, etc...We also had the papaya / peanut salad...too sour and no spice - i did not like it. We also had curry fried rice - good curry flavor but no salt / flavor. My wife had the red curry with medium spice and it turned out sweet. She did not eat it either. Very let down by the food and flavor

Ordered a few items. Soup, spring rolls, sushi, spicy green curry and Pad-kee-mao plates.
The soups(miso and tofu soup) were both good. Hit the spot.
Spring rolls were only 2 and a little over done but not bad.
The sushi rolls were spicy salmon, Philly and smokey mountain rolls. They were all OK. Thank goodness for the Wasabi and ginger.
Finally the main entree. Spicy Green curry chicken was good. Nice spice and tons of green peppers. The Pad Kee Mao was not so good. It sounded better than it was. Kinda bland. We doctored it up and still was mehhh.
My overall call on this place was, OK. Not great but just OK. Maybe I'm just use to better Thai food for that price and quality. Ok in a pinch but I will try some other place next time. I have it 4 stars because it's hard after covid and they tried.

Wow!!! Excellent Thai food with wonderful service. We hjad a great meal. The traditionakl apperizera ( Shu mai and fresh rolls) were wonderful and we too leftovers home. Very nice staff. Totally on track with good Thai menu.

I love this place. I've gone for lunch several times, most recently on March 1, 2024. It's my first choice whenever the choice is totally mine. I always get the lunch box special, and I've never been disappointed. The staff is efficient and courteous, and the food is plentiful and delicious!

My favorite is the lunch (bento) box. Leaves me satisfied with several choices and great value. Hard to beat the friendliness of the owners. I've been going here for years and have yet to have a dish I didn't like.

Sweet Basil never disappoints. Fast friendly service in a clean facility. Their price points are reasonable. I typically get their version of a bento box. More of a Japanese dish but good.

Very tasty food. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and we did not have to wait to be seated. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees, all of which we enjoyed.

Yes, the food is tasty but the portions are smaller compared to other Thai restaurants in general. Chicken on the Satay sticks were thinner and only 4 sticks.
