The entire menu has been changed from what was 'excellent' to now just 'meh'. Our typical fare of dinner usually consisted of Iced Tea, Egg Drop Soup, Moo Goo Gai Pan, Pork Lo Mein, and/or Vegetable Egg Foo Yung. Tonight we replaced Egg Foo Yung for the BBQ Spare Ribs. The Egg Drop Soup has changed to be very oily an a bit sweet, with a lot less egg, so it gets a 2. The Moo Goo Gai Pan has changed a bit for the better (larger portion, same sauce, better quality veggies), so it gets a 5. The Pork Lo Mein noodles have changed; my wife thinks they taste better whereas I do not. The pork in the dish was pretty good, and again the serving seemed to be a bit larger, so it gets a 5. The spare ribs were dry and not any hint of Chinese influence, so they get a 3. The service, as I stated, was not very attentive and seemed to be have no real interest in being there. The previous owners and staff were all dressed in black and white uniforms; the new service attire seems to be just street clothes. Also doubling as daycare where the new owner's children are running around like it is there house (based on the previous visit). We were done with our meal by the time we got a refill on our tea, so we ended up putting it all in a to-go cup. The walls are being updated with wallpaper, but the music has changed from Chinese to American urban. Not much about the place says "Imperial" any longer.

The food was a little on the sweet side, which is alright if you like sweet food. There were not many there on a Saturday evening at dinner considering restaurants around were all packed. They had great egg rolls and we were served plenty, which is not always the case with Chinese food. We did like the fact that it wasn't a buffet and it looked very clean. We did have a little trouble getting refills on water and our check when we were ready to leave. It was good enough to return but not often.

Looks like a generic Chinese strip-center restaurant. In some ways it is. The decor is fairly standard, but extremely well maintained. The restaurant is far cleaner than normal. The quality of the menus, dishes, everything was a step above normal. My fried rice wasn’t great but all of our entrees were excellent. The food was colorful and not cooked to mush. It was some of the best Mu Shu I’ve had in memory. Our waiter wasn’t cheerful, but he was attentive. We’ll be back.

This place was awesome but it has changed hands. It was closed for a long time for renovations. We were so anxious to try it when it opened but were so disappointed. The food is simply not in the same class with the Imperial Garden.

Not what it used to be. I've been going to Imperial Garden for decades. It has changed hands and the quality has significantly declined. In the old days, the owner and all of her staff were well-dressed in white shirts, black pants and black string ties. Not today. When I have gone to get pick-up, the manager/owner was wearing any casual clothing. Looks the same way for the wait staff. What I have ordered recently--barbecue spare ribs appetizer: still good flavor but not presented as in the old days, no lettuce leaf under the ribs, no maraschino cherry. One of my favorites used to be shrimp and snow peas--all that was added were water chestnut slices and a tasty sauce. The last time I tried it, they had added a lot of cheaper vegetables, cabbage, etc. The last time I ordered from them, I wanted to have pepper steak. I don't know what cut of steak is was, but it had been so processed that it was just pulp. The onions and peppers were so over-cooked, they were almost mush. Very disappointing. This restaurant is nothing like it used to be. I am so disappointed.

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years. I have to say that it needs some upkeep though. No music and after I said something they played classic rock instead of asian music. The menus were old and dirty and falling apart. My whole table got food except my son until everyone else was halfway done eating. Service was not friendly. Restrooms were filthy and smelly. Everyone in my party enjoyed the food. This place has potential. I feel like they are not trying as hard because it's an established restaurant close to Hamilton Place Mall. With the proper management this restaurant could really be great again.

This is the real thing. I love going to Chinese restaurant's that do not have a buffet. This is truly a gem and a must stop for authentic Chinese food. Everything is cooked to order and it is nothing short of delicious.

I've been going to this restaurant for years. The food is the best around and the service is always great. I never go to any other Chinese food restaurants in Chattanooga because the food here, the atmosphere here and the service has always been the best.

We always visit Imperial garden whenever we are at Hamilton Place, the food is always good and we never have a bad meal at this place. Service is a little impersonal and when they get busy the speed of service slows right down. This doesn't put us off going there regularly.

A fun time was had by all! The ribs appetizer was good. I ordered hot and sour soup, it was more sweet than hot, I was disappointed. The Chinese noodles we're really great and fresh. I ordered the steak and peppers and really enjoyed it. The Mongolian beef my wife had was okay. The fried rice was good!

We took my parents here who were visiting from Wisconsin and they ordered something, and it had maraschino cherries in it. They hated it. We ordered Sesame Tofu and it was soggy and didn't have a good flavor. This was our third time to go, but we won't be back.

Sucks. Hot and sour soup was cold and gelatinous. Hunan beef had no flavor. Cashew chicken. ditto. Waiter and person at register were informed of our disappointment. They seem as if they couldn't care less. Sorry lunch at a high price. Skip this place and go to the nearby Panda Express.

Ate here for the first time today at lunch. I had the spicy honey chicken...it was good but not spicy! Lots of food. When I say it's a little over priced there are several buffets I go to in Chattanooga and you get a lot of food items for the money at them. Here you get one choice, soup and egg roll...but it is a large portion!. My meal with tax, I drank water so no drink, was $9.01. Not sure if I'll go back but it was not bad! Following up on some others comments at 12:30 there were only 7 of us eating lunch there.
