This is an older, sole proprietor, downtown diner that was far more common a generation ago - but a welcome discovery. The property has been well maintained for the many years it's been in this location. It's tidy and efficiently operated. The staff we encountered were competent, engaged and concerned about taking care of their customers. We dined here for three meals while staying in a nearby (walking distance) downtown hotel and the food and service were above average each time. I think they serve breakfast and lunch, then close mid-afternoon. A great place to grab breakfast.

We ate here on a Saturday which was not common because we were told they are NOT open on the weekend. Due to a Motor Festival, they were open and we're glad they were. It is a very small diner-like restaurant with counter seating as well as booth/tables, but not many of any of them. We had the patty melts w/fries (one order is big enough for two) and it was delish. It was kinda hectic at the time we were there (about 1:30) thought the lunch crowd would be gone.... We were served quickly and the waiter was very friendly. Would visit here again when in ChattTown.

This is a great local place that has very friendly staff and amazing food! We had the loaded omelette with biscuit and gravy and it was huge, very tasty and a great value. Would highly recommend especially if staying at Read House!

I eat breakfast here 2 days a week. They always cook everything to order. Food is fresh, bacon is salty and crispy, and staff is friendly. If you like diners with the basics done right, this is your place.

Diner for sure with excellent service and diner food. Its nothing to wow about but if you want your basic breakfast cooked correctly without the kitschy feel, it’s the place. Great coffee, walking distance to hotel, near interstate.

Delicious breakfast! Our hostess was very friendly and made sure our drinks were full, and food was as we requested. Staff was superb, spoke to everyone who came in.
Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Chattanooga!

Want that basic no frills Southern staple/classic breakfast done well, done quickly, done at a reasonable price and friendly service?
This is that place.
Want a good burger? Sure.
Go in knowing you want the basics, they got you covered.
This place has withstood the test of time & rightfully so.
It is smaller, seating is tight & they get busy. Snuggle up to your bar buddy or rub elbows with the folks next to you; it'll be fine.

Wonderful breakfast find in Chattanooga!!! Tiny has owned and operated this place for 25 years. Everything was was great. The country ham caused my sweet wife to fall off the vegan wagon!!! You WILL NOT go wrong eating here!!!

Very convenient to the Read House, this is a great place for breakfast and perhaps, lunch. Our breakfasts were so good and so ample that lunch might have seemed pointless. Bacon was thick and they provided multiple big slices. Eggs were perfect. The last day I ordered a ham biscuit, which was less ambitious, but still really good. Staff were welcoming and friendly, food was great. Not a fancy place, but we ate there every morning of our visit. Hard to beat.

We wanted a place close to our hotel and found this on TA. We could not find a parking place out front and had to park in the garage across the street. It was convenient as it was pouring rain, but a nightmare to get out of. We tried every credit we had to no avail and no one to come and help. Luckily as the line behind us was getting long a nice man got out of his car came and put his card in. I think he was a bank employee.
Now on to the restaurant. Coffee was weak and not good at all. Our omelets were OK, nothing special just OK. The place is very plain, you could tell it had been there quite awhile.
We looked for other places for breakfast and none seemed appealing, so this might be the best choice. If we return we will either walk or find street parking. With the pouring rain we were limited. We will never go in that garage again!

Such a great place, the staff is super nice and the food is good and inexpensive. We had never been before and just seeing the locals coming in and the staff knowing their name, it tells me its a great place. Will definitely go there next time we are in town. They're not open on the weekends, we wish they were for our 2nd morning!

Great place for good food and friendly conversation with the locals. The owner goes by Tiny but he has a big personality with top quality customer service. The prices were amazingly cheap for the quality and quantity of food.

Grabbed breakfast here on our last morning in the city, and was was exactly what you want in a local, friendly, home style restaurant. Staff was friendly and efficient, food was well prepared and tasty. It's not fancy, but that's not always a bad thing.

I stop by the Innside whenever in town. Very convenient to Read House and Westin customers. Always a great choice for breakfast or lunch. On this trip I ordered the bacon/egg sandwich. No frills, just a great start to the day with a cup of great coffee. Family owned and operated. Plus they all hustle to make everyone feel like welcomed guests and get you on your way. Burgers and fresh plate lunches are also good.
