Menu was exciting. So many choices! Rance and Jarred (in training) were awesome. We ate outside with beautiful views and atmosphere! Highly recommend! The Martin House Steak was divine.

We visited the Back Inn Cafe on the last night of our anniversary vacation in Chattanooga. We definitely saved the best for last. We were seated at a window table giving us a beautiful view of the Tennessee river as we dined. We started out with cocktails - a pomegranate martini for me which our server created himself because, as... More

Was in town for a conference. Jake Davis offered outstanding service, from knowledge of wine and food to being personal and offering suggestions. The view sitting outside is incredible. Great food and atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

The food, view and service were great! I had the greens salad which was the perfect size, perfectly dressed and also had goat cheese and candied pecans. I also ordered the duck flatbread as my entree and it was so good! My husband got the strip steak and loved it as well! We will definitely recommend this to family and... More

We lucked into a parking spot after circling a while. Although we did not pay for our meal, it was very expensive (I felt guilty ordering anything but salad). The restaurant was beautiful, the view was stunning, and the service was excellent.

Along with great service and fantastic food. We had a difficult time deciding on our entrees as everything sounded good; the duck breast was excellent and try the peanut butter pie for desert!

Our first time and we were not disappointed with anything. Greeted warmly at the door to this restored southern mansion on the bluff over looking the Tennessee River. Our server, Jerry, was equally friendly and nicely well versed in the menu and beverages, which is a sign of a quality restaurant. While the menu had some steak standards, there were... More

The name is deceiving - this place is anything but a cafe!! Positives: It is a nice small upscale restaurant with delicious fresh food in a great location Lovely surprises were the homemade bread and amuse-bouche. There were 6 of us and each of our meals was delicious, especially the chicken and scallops. Negatives: (Scallop salsa topping was way too... More

Enjoyed a nice meal for a group of 11. It wasn't very busy for a Thursday evening. The dark wooded rooms had lots of charm and made you wondered if the walls could talk what they would say. The crab cakes had a spicy mexican style sauce. The grilled peach caprese with prosciutto was amazing. Everyone enjoyed the flat breads... More

This restaurant is on a bluff overlooking the river and some tables have a great view of the water and sculpture garden. Chef has a great ability to blend flavors creating some unique dishes. We had two similar dishes at another restaurant and decided the Back Inn was superior in flavor and presentation.
