Not much on the outside, but food is good. They have good daily lunch specials. Plenty of tv's, a bar and tables inside or on the patio. Wings, salad and country fried steak were good. By 1pm, they were running out of some items. Not...open on the weekends.More
We visited for lunch and arrived around 11:30 to find the place extremely busy with what looked like locals (good sign!). The servers are excellent at handling the crowds, however, and never did we feel rushed to vacate our table. Great prices and plentiful home-cooked...servings. Burgers and sandwiches are delicious.More
Beer swilling smoke filled crusty hole in the wall neighborhood restaurants are a thing of the past, but if you like good food and places that remember you this one's for you. Just enough seats that you can usually find one, and prompt courteous staff...make this a favorite with people from all walks of life. You're gonna see politicians, judges, lawyers, linemen, cubical folks, average Joe and the admin staff all chowing down on the daily specials. Their homemade blue cheese dressing is as thick as cream cheese spread and delicious.More
Being generous by giving them a 2-star. Fries were good, but place was packed, maybe that's why both of our meals sucked. We were told that is was a 20-25 minute wait - fine. After 40 minutes we went back inside to cancel or make...ours to go. The "Philly cheese-steak" was so small that a 4 yr old would be starving after they ate it. Ordered perhaps 20 cheese-steak sandwiches from around the city - this was by FAR the smallest and worst I have EVER had anywhere.... The burger my friend ordered was soggy and wet on the bottom bun. Of course it fell apart. Luckily I had a fork for him to eat it with.. Never be back. Seemed the kitchen staff couldn't keep up with the orders. Waitresses did the best they could, since there was only 2 of them. Management needs to fix their issues...More
While in Chattanooga for business, I wanted to find someplace close to the hotel and this fit the bill. Was packed when I got there with construction workers and I could tell that they were serving good food and I was right.
Wait staff was...friendly and when they messed up on an associates plate they gave her a free lunch and even though it was not what she ordered it was still very good. She offered to pay and they refused.
Would go again next time I am in townMore
I am a long time Chattanooga resident and I am a regular at the Southside Saloon and Bistro. Diners can count on a great meal at a good price. Always check out the daily specials. The country fried steak is one of my favorites and...all the sandwiches are generous portions and full of flavor. Get the Mexican cornbread. I don't think I have ever had better. The place is full of welcoming regulars and the lucky visitors who discover this place. You"ll feel right at home and won't be disappointed.More
A group of us from work went here and it was fantastic! The service was excellent and the menu had a great selection of items. The food was delivered quickly and there was a lot of it! At check-out we were offered drinks to go....It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is really cool and has a laid back feel to it. It's definitely worth trying!
The bar is in the dining area, so I don't know how that works with kids (sorry).More
Building looked inviting from the outside, but inside not so great. There was a Friday "special" shrimp & grits. I ordered the shrimp & grits and 2 sides - greens and cole slaw with a corn muffin. The shrimp & grits portions was very small...and I felt it had been in that bowl for a while - not too hot and the grits were very sticky. Other items ordered - turkey club, reuben and hamburger were rated as average.More
