Breakfast came with the room. That is the only reason we ate there. It was your typical "free breakfast" - cold cereals, very dry eggs, sausage, canned fruit, etc. Nothing special, just free. Free is not always a good thing. The hostess was not particularly friendly. Wish we had tried a local restaurant instead.

This Restaurant was right in the lobby of our Hotel. Tired after our long full day of travel, and not wanting to explore the city on our first night, we opted for having Dinner here. (The next few mornings, we also went on to have our Breakfast Buffets right at this place). We were surprised to see that the place... More

Terrible restaurant. Service was non-existent. Would not recommend or ever go back. I will confess... I did not check trip advisor 1st. So sorry TA. Will not happen again. Rapid City has so many awesome restaurants to choose from. :(

We were staying at the KOA and spent the day at Mount Rushmore, checked out a few places in Rapid City to celebrate my birthday dinner while on vacation. We first checked the "Vertex" at the top of the Alex Johnson Hotel and they were going to charge us $20.00 just to ride the elevator up 9 floors! Forget that!... More

When out-of-town guests visit from San Francisco, Salt Lake or DC, we take them here to experience a slice of fine dining, which always gets rave reviews. The quality of service, food preparation, and selections are always appreciated. Expensive, but great for special occasions.

We had dinner with a bottle of wine and could not have been more pleased with the service or quality of the food. My companion had the duck and I had pork tenderloin both cooked to order and succulent. The wine was attended to throughout the meal, our server was very attentive. Warm bread and garlic butter were offered before... More

Had the buffet that was included with the hotel. Fairly small selection but good food, a little more up scale that traditional hotel breakfast. Wait staff was non existent never saw anyone after we were seated.

My girlfriend and I made a reservation for Mother's Day, thinking we might find it hard to have a breakfast on Mother's Day. We sought out an early reservation based upon this restaurants' excellent rating and location downtown. We walked into the restaurant to be greeted by a gentleman, holding a coffee thermos. We told him we had a reservation.... More

We had not dined at this restaurant for a few years. The last time we dined here our food was ok. This time it was nasty. Our event started off with a hostess who acted as if we were bothering her by stopping in. She said nothing as she sat us. The waiter was equally unremarkable. The food was mediocre... More

The buffalo ribeye and the lambchops were excellent. We were seated at 7:25 and ordered by 7:35 yet our food wasn't served until 8:20! All meat was served medium rare so it shouldn't have taken that long. Also, we had a few questions about the menu and each time the waitress didn't actually know the answer and had to go... More
