Brought the giant Philly sandwich very very disappointed with it. I was told that they use 6 oz and 12 oz steak for this. One sandwich had meat the other one we cut in half because no meat. Order two regular Philly cheese sandwiches. We were told this place is great. It’s not. Service was mediocre, sandwiches were expensive and actually terrible. Loaded with onions and green peppers but hardly any meat at all. Flavor was bland. I have had so much better...at O’Charly’s fast food chain. Two sandwiches and a tea for 29.00 bucks! My husband & I were looking for a place to eat in downtown Rapid City. Fred’s Philly Cheezsteak was in the location where we wanted to explore. Parking was also good a bit after the lunch. Upon walking in, I was put off by the...interior. It looked some what unkempt but there was a steady stream of traffic even at an off-time. We ordered our sandwiches & a beer. They were out of all drafts🥴But, when the sandwiches got to the table, OMG. They were amazing. We also met “the maker of the sandwiches” who, after eating one of his Cheezsteaks, I would call an artist. He’s been at this for 18 years. So, go try one. If you don’t like the ambiance, get it to go & go to the park down the street. But, whatever you do, don’t wear a white shirt. And, get PLENTY of napkins.More

Not the same quality or value since changing owners. After Ted sold the place the prices took a nice hike and the it seems they cut the amount of meat in the sandwiches. Ted is what made this place special before. He kept the quality...high and customer service was always top notch. This place needs to change its name. It is riding on the coattails of what Ted built. When Ted owned it I ate there at least 3 times a week. Now...twice every 6 months...maybe. They are the best in Rapid City by default. There are no competitors.More

Our first visit. We ordered the special of the day - the Packer. It was loaded with melted cheese, a little too much. We thought it would have peppers and onions but it didn’t. A little disappointed but I would come back and try another...sandwich or the cheeseburger.More

It was packed when we went, all the servers wearing masks, the manager was busting his butt clearing tables and keeping the staff on their toes. The food was good and the drinks were as well!

The food here is great and that is a plus. We had a long day during our family trip and wanted some good food that would be made fast. Well, we ordered and about 30 minutes later our 3 cheesesteaks and hot dog were made....If you are in a hurry don't go here. It's also rather expensive and cost us over 40 dollars. Service wasn't great, and the average food matched it. First, our order wasn't filled properly We were the only ones in the place at the time, so it's not like it was busy. Then, when we got it, the food was disappointing. I expected a...Philly cheesesteak to be loaded up.. Fill the bun properly. It was filled enough to say it covers it. Bacon? Oh, right. Put a little in there, enough to legally say it. As for the hair in the chili? We'll call that "value add." (I noticed the employee was wearing a hat, not a hair net. Go figure.)More
