Had a great time with friends. food was very good and the staff was attentive. Paid our bill and went home. This morning I was looking the bill over and noticed a charge, LWgeSC on the bottom of the bill. Easy to figure out what...it was not pleased. Really!, now it the customers job to pay the servers? I don't think so. If your in business its YOUR job to pay your employees. This isn't Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, its Rapid City, SD. My rating was for the food. I would have given a 5 if not for this charge. You got me once but not again. Next time I will deduct the charge from the tip.More

Delmonico has been our restaurant of choice when celebrating special milestones the past 15 years. But it has fallen from grace and we likely won't return. Our recent meal was cold, sparse and flavorless. Felt like the kitchen was definately cutting corners, and meanwhile menu...prices have gone up. But the biggest disappointment was our wine service - and this is the 2nd time they have done this to us. We ordered a bottle of wine in the mid-$40 range, which is on the lower price point on their menu. Waitress takes the order and leaves the table. She returns with the dog and pony show that they are sold-out of that wine for the nite, but she has some other options. problem is the other options are in the $60, $90 and over $100 price range....they have no substitute in the price range we ordered in. As I said, this exact same scenario has happened to us twice now at Delmonico. May I suggest if you are truly out of the wine, state it when you hand out the wine menu instead of trying this form of bait and switch.More

Maybe I was expecting too much, but with the pricing I thing my expectations were justified, we took a medium ribeye, which I split with my colleague, I’m so glad we didn’t take one each, as it was absolutely rubbish, a Costco steak would be...10 times better. That being said we was comped our meals as we didn’t eat them . Our starter of French onion soup was delicious, but we never came for the soup. Our waitress was so attentive and professional, I felt bad about complaining with regards te steak, but you know what, they professed to be the best. They really fell short this time, we went to McDonald’s when we left as we were still hunger. Waitress was the best, hope they get with the program on the steaks.More

Our dinner was very disappointing. My food arrived mostly cold as did the food of one of our friends. His portion was so small we initially though they had brought him an appetizer. At $40.00 it should have been better prepared. The sauce with my...fish supposedly had some blue cheese in it, but the sauce was so bland I couldn't detect any such flavor. The only thing earning them 2 points instead of one is the service, which was great. We definitely will not be returning.More

Visited DelMonicos for dinner , was promptly seated, reservations helped. Vanessa our waitress welcomed us, explained the specials & took our drink order. Ordered food, Apps, entrees all came out in timely fashion, food was prepared perfectly! Vanessa never missed a beat! Nice ambiance, clean...restrooms! Due to location of DelMonicos, parking is at a premium close by, but I/2 block away isn’t a bad walk. Highly recommended! Will definitely return.More

We made a reservation for 7:15p and were seated right away when we arrived. The atmosphere was quiet but busy. I had the Ahi Tuna & vegetables. My husband had a rib-eye, asparagus & french onion soup. No drinks or dessert. The bill was $132....The food was very good and our server, Taylor was great.More

Is very average and overpriced. Service is not very attentive. We ordered dinner for two and meat was way too overdone and not how it was ordered.

This place was a huge disappointment. With so many restaurants in the area having pub fare we were excited for a good meal but that was not the case. We didn’t know they didn’t serve alcohol here….so if that’s what you want go elsewhere….only beer...and wine. We ordered a decent bottle of wine and enjoyed that a bit before our tomahawk dinner arrived. The steak was so chewy and grisly we couldn’t even eat it. The salads and sides were decent. We usually just pay for bad food as we aren’t complainers but for this price we couldn’t do it. The manager was very understanding and was going to forgive our whole meal including our bottle of wine. We felt that to be too generous so we paid for the wine and tipped the waiter on the whole meal ticket. To be fair, it wasn’t the waiters fault for the quality of meat. Maybe if we would’ve just had filets we would’ve had a different experience? Who knows. On a side note- I know this is a vacation town but I don’t think the staff here should be wearing converse tennis shoes - it’s a bit unprofessional for a steakhouse as they are advertised.More

My family loves to come here a few times a year. However, the last couple times we have been here the wait time for food was below average. The manager always made it right by getting us desert which is much appreciated. Overall the food,...service, and cleanliness always exceeds our expectation.More

This is definitely a meat-forward restaurant with underwhelming vegetarian options the cauliflower steak was unevenly seasoned, and the dish just felt like trendy vegetarian food put on a plate untransformed. If the ingredients were farm fresh I would appreciate a simple dish like but they...clearly weren't. Given that rapid city is between two very different environments it would've been nice to see that get taken advantage of somewhere on the menu. With the space they have they've done a wonderful job with the atmosphere and our server was very warm, friendly, and accommodating. The manager seemed nice to the staff but not very friendly. The bruschetta was good but some of the bread was approaching rock-hard. The soups tasted great but the french onion soup had an aggressive amount of cheese. The sea bass was enjoyable but the paired risotto was mild in flavor and crunchy. Risotto is one of my favorite dishes that I've made hundreds of times so this was very disappointing.More

My wife and I arrived at 5PM opening time. We both ordered the onion soup. My wife thought the soup was good. I have had better. I was looking forward to a ribeye steak. I asked the waitress if it was prime or choice and...was told choice. I did not want to be disappointed so I ordered the double pork chop instead, which I ordered medium. My wife ordered the roasted half chicken. When the food finally arrived, the chicken and vegetables were cold so she sent it back. My pork chop was hot but was well done. It was tasty so I decided to keep it. My mashed potatoes were cold and I did send it back with the chicken dish. Again, when my wife's food arrived, it was still not hot but luke warm.. The skin on the chicken was not crispy. As the pork chop was overcooked, by the end of the meal, it was so dry I could not eat it. The meal from start to finish took over 2 hours. Way too long. For an upscale steak house this meal was definitely not worth the price paid.More

My wife and I ate here for our last night in Rapid City. The special was Halibut!...Not what I expected in South Dakota. The menu is somewhat limited. The only steaks available are 16 oz wet or dry aged ribeyes ($63 to $76.00) and a...single 7 oz fillet. Ribeye steak is definitely not my preferred cut of meat! I would have preferred a sirloin strip and I questioned our server why there were no other choices. "Supply chain" was the answer! After 5 days of driving past 1,000's of Black Angus, that's hard to believe! We each had a ribeye,, one wet and one dry. They were OK but not great, A considerable amount of fat that had not been trimmed or rendered on each! We'd recommend Dakotah's Steakhouse instead!More
