Excellent food, attentive service, surrounded by antique hutches armoires, and chandeliers. We had a great time and the prime rib melted in your mouth!

Great service and food. The staff was very friendly and quick on the preparation. I had the seafood pasta which was a generous portion of several seafood deights with a rich pasta sauce. Onion ring appetizers were perfect. Reasonable prices for the quality.

Always greeted by the owners. Soups are the best ever, we never had a bad steak, and the rack of lamb is to die for. the service is always really good as the place is getting a little dated but still very nice . YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG EATING HERE!!!

Coming from out of town, we had no idea we were walking into an upscale restaurant. Don't let that stop you from an amazing meal. They didn't mind my ball cap and flip flops. The shrimp cocktail was a bit pricey for what you get. The prime rib was amazing. Perfect thin crisp crust, good marbling (no fat globs) potatoes... More

My husband & I visited Chef Louie's on a visit to Mitchell in April. We were the first to arrive at restaurant, a beautiful room, dark furniture, white tablecloths very welcoming. Our waitress was very nice explained the menu & recommended a nice wine. We both enjoyed a great filet. The price was very reasonable & would recommend this restaurant.

I was in Mitchell for work and decided to go here because of all the great reviews. I had the filet with the lump crab meat and my dad had the ribeye. We both agreed the steak was fantastic. I paired my meal with the local IPA and an Alaska red amber. Great meal and would highly recommend.

I have lived here for 52 yrs. and have eaten at Chef Louies for all those yrs. on a regular basis. $$$ but well worth every bite! One side white tablecloths other side bar and booths, more casual but come as you are always! Best steaks in the country and wide, diverse menu.

The lodge where I'm staying recommended Chef Louie. Instead of opting for the special, I tried the bourbon beef tips - YUMmy - and grilled South Dakota-sized asparagus -- expansive but not expensive. The side salad was so-so but the bread that came with the meal was fresh & buttery-tasting with a hint of sweetness. Perfect meal. White table cloths... More
