I have been to the Alpine twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. The lunch menu includes German specialties as well as soups, salads and sandwiches. Lunch is reasonably priced and the food was very good with reasonable portions. For dinner the only offer Filet Mignon in either a 6 oz. or 9 oz. It comes with a baked... More

My family and I stopped at the Alpine for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised by the great German menu. My kids and I loved the food and the service was good too. Make sure you have cash as they do not accept credit cards or checks.

My wife, sister-in-law, and I wanted to check out the local cuisine in the area, so we chose here. When we arrived, it was a 45 minute wait, so we waited in the bar and ordered some wine while waiting. I made a joke to the others about the one meal served for dinner that night, which was not a... Where else can you get Filet Migon for under $15. Food was good and service was nice. Limited menu, only 2 selections

You just cannot beat the filet mignon deal. You need to get there early and expect to be on a waiting list, but the meal was well worth it! Be sure to bring cash, 'cause they don't take credit cards. Ironically, they have an ATM machine onsite.

Charming German-style restaurant with great food. We had the Reuben sandwich which was served on real rye bread. It was delicious. The prices are reasonable and the service was good.

We visited the Black Hills on Memorial Day weekend. We stopped by on Saturday night and found out that there was a 2 hour wait because of a wedding party, of 60 people dining here. We put our name down. I know what you are thinking, a 2 hour wait to eat at a restaurant? Yes, and it was worth... More

Great food and a pleasant surprise in rural SD. Worth the wait to get in. Only thing was we would have liked a mixed drink and a better menu for the kids but I would still go again

Alpine Inn has an interesting evening concept of offering a choice of 2 meals: a steak filet and a vegetarian dish. You get a wedge salad, potato and your entree. Our party of 4 ordered steak and it was very good, with a reasonable price. Yes, there was a wait...but they give you a precise time window to return so... More

We waited for a half hour in line before dinner hours, and another hour and a half after that to eat at the Alpine again. We came here years ago for lunch and loved it, so we went out of our way to come back. One waitress ran circles around ours in the back room - people seated after us... More
