Wonderful taskings on arrival. Your choice of about 30 wines ; you select 5 to taste. Don't like wine? buy a beer to drink while you wait for the rest of your party.

The staff at Prairie Berry Winery was top-notch! They were extremely knowledgeable about their wine selections and answered all of our questions. We were not rushed to sample and buy, but take our time to enjoy. Great afternoon treat for wine lovers. They will give the sales pitch on their wine club, which is a good deal, but never pushy.... Great wine, but seemed to be a little understaffed and we weren't able to get all our questions answered. Be sure to check our the Miner Brewery next door!

I have always enjoyed their fruit wines, especially the rhubarb, which I buy at retailers. While on a recent trip to the Hills, my wife and I and another couple were taking a leisurely drive and came across this place and decided to do a wine tasting. We did that, bought a couple bottles, ordered a cheese tray and chilled... More

My family went here for lunch after a long morning of Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse, and it was a very nice antidote to the cold and the stone. It's really a retail space for PB's wines, with essentially a lunch counter at the back and some self-service tables on the side, but that casual atmosphere is warmed up by... More

Their location is very near Mount Rushmore which makes a trip there more interesting. We found the people in the tasting room and gift shop to be very knowledgeable and helpful. If we find ourselves passing that way again we will stop for sure.

Great people, great wine! We altered our route home to Minnesota just so we could stop and get some Redass Rhubarb wine. We got that and more. If you're in the Hill City, SD area make sure to stop by and check them out.

Look, y'all, wine is much more than smooshed grapes gone bad. There's a whole host of other varieties available and Prairie Berry does a fine job with its offerings. We had a wonderful FREE wine tasting, bought a bottle and then came back the next day when we were looking for a bite to eat. Their flatbread pizza was great... More

Experience our award-winning wines in a fun and relaxed setting in the heart of the Black Hills. Find us three miles northwest of Hill City on Highway 385, just a few miles from Mount Rushmore National Memorial and Crazy Horse Memorial.

We’re Hill City’s only working winery and Sandi Vojta, our fifth generation winemaker, handcrafts each wine, often using old family recipes, just a few steps from our Tasting Room.

Start your Prairie Berry Winery experience with a free wine tasting of up to five of our award-winning wines, including our Anna Pesä handcrafted traditional European wines, at our Tasting Bars. We produce a variety of wines in styles for every palate – from crisp, dry wines and robust, oak-aged reds to sweet, fruity varieties.

Our Kitchen offers housemade menu items including gluten-free, vegetarian and kids’ options. Menu selections pair perfectly with our wines, vary with the season and many of our ingredients are sourced locally. Enjoy a meal on our patio with our beautiful views of Black Elk Peak (formerly Harney Peak).

Our brewery, Miner Brewing Company, is located next door.
