The place was crowded so we were seated on the second floor. The waitress was very attentive even though she had to trudge up and down the stairs with our food and drinks. Salmon was very tasty!

We walked into this place and sat down and bought a drink. The waitress came back for our order and proceeded to tell us they basically had no food left. I asked her why she didn't tell us there was no food left before we bought drinks, she did not have a good answer. Would not go back there.

Always try to spot the Bumpin Buffalo for a beer and sometimes something to eat. Wives were of shopping so brother in law and I went to the Buffalo for beers. When the wives showed up, we decided to have a some appetizers too. Good place for eats and beers.

I had a quick stop in Hill City for lunch. Bumpin Buffalo looked like the right place. Good selection of local beers and gives off the Western feel. Food was nice.

Be sure to stop here! Food was good and burgers are plate-size! Great food for the price and neat place. Does close during off season.

We didn't actually choose this place to eat in but, if you go in September and it's after 7 p.m., your choices are limited. As with all the small towns in South Dakota, you'll find people wandering the streets trying to find something that is still open and serving food. It was extremely busy. There were tables upstairs and seats... More

Stopped in for dinner. Was seated and ordered drink's. Then was told almost half the menu was not available it was end of the season. So decided to go elsewhere explained to the server with not much to ordered from we would be leaving. Wished someone would have told us about limited menu. She was not very apologetic about it... Interesting old building on Hill City's main drag, good selection of beer and good food make this a good place to stop when in the area. Servers are friendly. Potato -bacon soup is really good! Variety of craft beers on tap, several of them local.good place to have a buffalo burger if you haven't tried one.

This was truly a good experience for us. We expected typical bar food but were very pleased with the soup and chislic we had there. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive. There is a great rooftop bar here too. The only drawback is they don't serve alcohol, only wine and beer but lots to choose from. Great atmosphere too!

We stopped by the Bumpin Buffalo after seeing the real buffalo in Custer State Park. We were lucky to be seated immediately around 7:00p as many others were waiting later. We started with the potato skins (they have a catchy name...), which were excellent. Buffalo burger and pulled pork were our entrees - both large and tasty. Fun hats and... More
