Not sure what the hype is about. I don't like burnt ahem crispy hamburgers. They are small and not very tasty. The service was slow because they were busy. Again I don't get it but judging by they business they do they don't need me to.

Go to Nick's if you want an old fashioned burger and the ambience that goes with it. These are the old style gut bombs like you could get before the McD's and Burger King which have no class compared to Nick's.

Went to Brookings for an SDSU women's basketball game. As always when we go to Brookings our first stop is st Nick's. Had a double cheeseburger with onions, pickles, mustard, and ketchup. Followed that up with a single and chips. Washed it down with a sofa. Nick's burgers are the best!

We visited Nick's Hamburger Shop because it was rated #1, it was inexpensive and cute. We went a couple of hours before the football game and it was busy, but not crazy. You can get burgers, cheeseburgers, doubles, chips, shakes, floats, and cokes. These South Dakotans love their root beer floats. Seriously. The burgers are small, but juicy. Served on... More

The burgers are great, and so are the shakes! I do think the price for the size is a little high, but still worth it!

My wife and I stumbled over this place today and went in for a cold drink. The place was packed with customers sitting at the counter devouring burgers. The milk shakes were great and we had to grab a cheeseburger and in my case another one! Not the biggest burgers on the plate but the taste was wow! Forget your... More

Best hamburgers ANYWHERE. Get the double with everything, and cheese. Two doubles and a soda makes a perfect lunch.

The burgers are always good and made to order, but way the burgers are overpriced for the size of the burger. Otherwise the staff is always friendly
