I do not get to O'Lacy's as often as I used to, which is unfortunate for me. I work outside of Summerville, so lunch is not an option. And as the wife and I have gotten older, we do not "hang out" at pubs as much as we did in your younger days. Occasionally, however, I do get a chance... More

Come for the beer and stay for the popcorn. This Irish pub was home to the Wednesday night warm-up of the entire tenor section of the St. John the Beloved Choir for many years. The beer is always cold and the well drinks are inexpensive. The service is great and the atmosphere makes you think you're in downtown Dublin.

After reading many contributors complain about the food, I have to set the record straight: there isn't any. This your basic dart-throwing, beer drinking, lie-telling, popcorn machine, brick-walled pub. OK? There is a collection of eclectic furniture to provide cozy settings for groups. There is sometimes a hot plate of free eats or even a hot dog machine. There is... More

Dark, hole in the wall. Not great atmosphere, but the prices are right. People who came in all seemed to know each other.

would not have stumbled in if not for walking around during the monthly 3rd Thursday festival! It's down a brick walkway away from the Main Street. Just love the atmosphere of an old pub! Being an Irish pub, we asked for an Irish cider, magners, which sadly they do not offer so we opted for local beer instead. There was... More

I'm a local and love coming here for a beer. John is awesome!! But I came on night when it was an all female bar staff, and as a a single female I was given the WORST service I've ever experienced at a bar. The two (attractive) women could smile a little. They only talk to regulars. John is great,... More

Coming to South Carolina for the first time, we were overcome with southern hospitality... UNTIL WE WALKED INTO O'LACY's PUB. As we walked in the door, the entire pub went quiet and stared at our group. To make it more awkward and uncomfortable, the bartender walked to the back of the bar as though we were not welcome. We asked... More

The bartender said "we used to be Irish..not sure what we are now?" The overall scene was laid back. Long bar on one side, padded chairs, tables and couches on the other. Funky wall hangings and several large screen tvs. "I suppose we're more of a neighborhood Sports Bar," the nice lady behind the bar added. I showed her the... More

Visiting the HistoricTown of Summerville, I visited O'Lacys Pub and found that the most friendly neighborhood customers frequent there. The food menu was from Steaks to Wings and on Wed Trivia and Sat Karoake. A pleasantly cigar friendly place with friendly staff.
