Definitely recommend! Staff was super friendly and my burger was delicious! I 100% support the owners choice to not wear masks or make their staff wear them. If you don’t feel ‘safe’ wear your mask since it works so well.
I will definitely be back,...felt good to be back to normal in a local restaurant!More
I had been wanting to try this place for a while. But since they are fighting mask mandates, I decided to go out and show my support. Plus I had been cleaning all day and didn't feel like cooking.
I pull up and since it...was perfect patio weather, I decided to indeed dine out on the patio. You just sit yourself here.
I sit there for a few minutes before anyone comes over and takes my drink order. I finally get my tea. This place is known for for their burgers. But I decided to go with something else. I get a half order of fried pickles and the big scoop. Which is a big scoop of chicken salad.
The fried pickles are amazing. But there are more like strips. And this order is huge..and I only got half an order. The chicken salad plate comes with a big scoop of chicken salad, a bunch of sliced tomatoes, a big slice of onion, and plenty of pickles. The chicken salad was good but I would have liked it drier. Im not a fan of runny chicken salad. I toss out the tomatoes and onion. The pickles are perfect and taste like home made. I would have just liked more on the plate.
They are located not to far from downtown close to the colleges. They have plenty of parking. They do have a bar. On this particular night, they were popular with large groups. Just about every table had a large group (also another reason I ate outside).
The food was ok and the service was ok (but not fantastic). I will certainly give them another try before I put them on my no list. But next time I think I will go with the burgers.More
I enjoy places like this. They're always better than a chain any day.
But I come to them to eat, not to vote or endure politics. Given the owner has seen fit to put politics before business I'll decline. I do my politics in the...voting booth, not my lunch plate.More
It's all about attitude and being concerned about the health of customers. The risk of covid-19 with the apparent lack of state mandated protocol suggestions for employees and patrons is dietarily abhorrent to me. Never, ever will I try Ike's again. It's back to The...Beacon Drive-In, Nu-Way Restaurant, and Greer's Strip Club Steakhouse for great burgers.More
I had not been here in a few years and I forgot how good it is.
I arrived at lunch on a Tuesday and the place was packed. I thought it was unusual for a Tuesday. After entering I learned Ike's had a no mask...for covid policy and people were there to support their stand against masks.
I personally thinks masks are over rated so I didn't mind stay.
The food was as good as I remembered and I will go back soon to support Ike's!!!!!More
Had the burger and it was bland and kind of tasteless. I expected more from a greasy spoon type of place like this but I was disappointed. Like my subject said, the owner was not requiring ANYONE to wear masks. We will never come here...again and will be telling everyone that this place is just a money hungry joint.More
No mask/ High risk restaurant staff and patrons not required to wear masks. DUH!
Not much need to say anything more. Seems to not care about his staff or the people wanting to go there for a meal. I see zero chance of going back....RegardsMore
Ikes is a dive that is popular for their burgers. However, the owner thinks that masks during the time of the covid epidemic are only used to hurt Trump. South Carolina has a high infection rate. However, he does not require them for his staff...or customers. If the owner doesn't understand the transmission of disease, how can one be certain that he understands other aspects of sanitation?More
