We stopped by Uncle Berto’s on our way back from the Smoky Mountains. Great small family restaurant. The entire place including the restrooms were immaculately clean. The food was authentic and exceptionally good. There were many options besides burritos, including some innovative dishes, like the...Chile Relleno Burrito which was really really good. Portions were generous and included free homemade chips and refried beans. Good value for money. Strongly recommended.More

Talk about a off the beaten path Mexican restaurant this is the place! Order at the counter and they bring your food out to the table. It’s going to be enlarging soon as it’s always over flowing. People don’t mine waiting as it’s that great!...You get free chips, beans and salsa! Your pick of salsa! They served beer. I had the delicious combo of a Quesadilla served with rice and two Enchiladas with a coke! My wife had the Tostadas bowl with steak and it was more than she could eat! All in all it’s great just need more seating! Love it!!More

Nice people. Fun place to eat outside in good weather. The food is a little expensive for basic Mexican, however.

Their food is pretty good Mexican fare. I think they like it more than I did. Their pricing for their dishes seemed a lot higher than other local Mexican places we go to.

This has become our all time favorite Mexican restaurant! They have the best Tacos and an amazing sauce bar! The staff is always super friendly. They use Grub Hub, take out or dine in with some outdoor seating.

I just finished mountain biking on the local trails and craved tacos. I had just seen this place when I passed by on the way to the trails, so decided this would be a good chance to try something new. The menu has a pretty...impressive selection for a little "taco shop" but it doesn't compare to the menus of big Mexican restaurants. In my opinion, the menu is right where it needs to be for this type of place. Having never been there before, I wanted to try several things but my appetite wasn't as big as my ambition. I did manage to order two tacos; one was a flour tortilla "regular" and their pastor/seasoned pork; the other a corn tortilla street style with cabeza. The young lady directed me toward the salsa bar and said she'd bring my tortilla chips and bean dip to the table. The salsa bar alone is impressive with many choices and the ones I tried were flavorful and fresh tasting. The bean dip was also very good and had some cheese on top that melted and gave a little rich gooey quality to it. I had stopped by between peak hours and had the place to myself so I could hear the sizzling in the kitchen from my table. It took an appropriate amount of time (too short and would doubt the freshness, too long and I'd think still frozen) and it was brought right to my table. All I could say is, wow! Both were absolutely delicious. Both were savory and the cabeza had a slight sweetness to the meat though not sugary sweet. I think for street-style tacos, the corn tortillas with just the onions and cilantro are the way to go. The place was very clean, bright, and open. The young lady was very pleasant and helpful. The food was delicious. My only complaint is that they only have two locations and they're both a bit of a drive from the Greer area. Will I be back? Absolutely.More

I am very picky about Tamales! Usually when I order them they have very thick masa and no meat 😨 but at Uncle Berto’s they are fantastic! I got one chicken because I was afraid I would be disappointed. Wish I had gotten 2! One...of each flavor!! Will be back soon!!More

I called around 11:25 to place an order because I had a lot to do today and would love some Uncle Bertos tacos. Well, I called and called and was hung up on MANY TIMES and then when I finally got someone, they said hold...on one second and proceeded to EAT AND BURP INTO MY EAR WHILE ON THE PHONE WITH ME. I, myself work in a restaurant and I would be fired if I had done such a thing. Thanks for the rude and crude service. I just wanted tacos. I was willing to give you business and in return endured rather atrocious service. You make the restaurant look bad.More
