Best. Steaks. Ever. Along with creative Apps like Grilled Lamb Lollipops or Boykin Cornmeal Encrusted Oysters there are creative Salads to die for ... and then there are the sides, which serve 2-3 and come family style: Mac and Aged White Cheddar, Authentic Mill Pond Stone Ground Grits, Butter and Chive Shaved Silver Queen Corn are just a few. Seasonal... More

There's nothing quite like sitting in a building that was built in the 1700's watching a 14' ALLIGATOR swim by in the 400 acres pond just outside the window while chowing down on one of the best steaks I've ever had !! Whew! Long sentence ! Over 100 gators are in the Mill Pond and "Old George". Yikes! There is... More

We normally come each anniversary and again we went disappointed! Superb food and excellent service. We have had the pleasure of having John take care of us. His expertise is above others. We love overlooking the pond to see if our alligator will bless us with his swim by. He chose to keep it at a distance this year. The... More

OK, we went with lovely friends who said, we'll show y'all some gators! so I had completely different expectations for a restaurant in the middle of nowhere! this is some of the best food we've ever eaten and our first forage into southern cuisine! would go today if they were open!

We just dined here and enjoyed their Mother's Day Buffet. I must admit I am not a fan of buffets, keeping that in mind this one contained more goumet choices of the main items ( Salmon Lamb Beef and Ham). The atmosphere was fun with a view of a large pond and a rustic wood interior. Service was good but... More

My wife and I were driving down to Fort Lauderdale and decided to take an overnight break in Florence, SC. On the way down we checked Open Table for a place and found these guys. Please keep in mind that this is a 43 mile trip west of Florence, but it is worth it. When you arrive you find 3... More

We have been coming here for years, and I am afraid to say that tonight was our last visit. The steak and lamb were of subpar quality, and the lamb in particular was not prepared/cooked properly. Lamb should have a nice crusty sear - this lamb was mushy at best. I suspect it was frozen. While they did remove my... More

This ranks as one of the best dining experiences I have ever had! It was simply perfection from beginning to end! What a unique and beautifully balanced atmosphere - rustic yet elegant and intimate, complete with a gorgeous fire in the stone fireplace. We had a great table at the back corner by a window, but because our reservation was... More

We love the food, service and ambiance of this wonderful little out-of-the-way restaurant. From the views of alligators and birds to the incredible food, this is worth the drive from anywhere to get there! Such a surprise to find such a great place tucked away on a SC road like this treasure!

Description
The Mill Pond Steak House is the only up-scaled steakhouse in the midlands. We offer the best Certified Angus Beef that is aged for 40 plus days before it is served to the guest. We have a well developed and seasoned staff that is committed to your dining needs. It starts from the time you pick up the phone to make a reservation to the time you are welcomed at the front door and lasts forever. When you arrive to the Mill Pond Steakhouse in Boykin, SC you take a step back in time. The restaurant is composed of three historic buildings established in the early 19th century. The kitchen was the old Post office, the bar was the old General Store and the main dining room was another General Store relocated to its present location. From the heart pine floors to the reclaimed lumber that was once walls of several cabins in Boykin, you realize that you are surrounded by history. Mill Pond Steak House offers rustic elegance with southern hospitality and a one of a kind dining experience.
