Went for lunch today, you always know that when your order arrives five minutes from it was taken your expectations should be low. Ordered fish and chips, fries were good, fish was a pathetic recreation of fish sticks only larger. The problem with restaurants these days is everything is off the Cisco food truck. It’s no more than disguised fast food.

Arriving in Beaufort we had people recommend dining at the Fish Camp in Port Royal and that was a great place to see the sun set. It was about a 10 minute ride but took much longer returning to our hotel because the entire area had lost cell phone coverage and we didn’t have a map. The food and service by Claire was excellent. While waiting for a table we sat at the small inside bar because the outside one was full. The name of the server was not on my bar bill when I looked later. She was very busy making drinks for tables and kept telling us how busy she was. I recommend not sitting at this bar. My wife had the stuffed flounder with broccolini that I also tried and it was a 10 out of a 10. I had the seafood combo platter with oysters, shrimp and two flounder fillets plus sides. Our appetizer was hush puppies that have a hint of jalapeno and they were the best ever with the honey butter on top. I would definitely return to this restaurant if in the area again.

Although it was crowded on a holiday season evening, we snagged a table on the patio. The hostess told us it could be cold, but there were many ceiling heaters, and it was actually more comfortable than the main dining room. Our server Chelsea was pleasant and efficient and gave us excellent service. I enjoyed some of their raw oysters which were good and reasonably priced. I had their blue crab cake and my wife had their lobster bisque. I can honestly say that the crab cake was the largest and best crab cake I've had in recent memory. It was full of crab with little "filler" to keep it together. I can't imagine a better one. We both loved the lobster bisque, and it was superior to what we had in previous days at a fancy establishment in Charleston. We highly recommend both the crab cake and lobster bisque for folks desiring a smaller supper. For a reasonably priced supper at a laid back restaurant, you can't go wrong here. There is plenty of parking in their adjacent lot.

I’m still sad about how disappointing Fishcamp was for our first wedding anniversary. We made reservations and were seated right away. Drinks came out pretty quick and our server was nice. However, it was so COLD in there- I just wanted it to be over. We asked the server if they could turn down the ac a bit and management just flat out said no. I used my napkin as a makeshift blanket. On to the food… what a huge disappointment that was! Crabcake was bland with no flavor. My husband ordered the grouper and I wanted to try the mussels. He couldn’t finish his overcooked and under seasoned meal. My mussels were wayyyy overcooked and only had about half of the mussels that should have been in there, but plenty of empty shells. The sauce was very different from any sauce I’ve ever seen with mussels… still curious what that was. We asked the waitress to speak to a manager as this meal was terrible for the high price point. He approached already upset at us. Told us to just get out and that our tab was covered. Which, thanks for that- but our anniversary dinner was ruined and that man acted like we’d ran over his dog or something. I felt that big and my husband was upset and angry. We tipped the waitress generously and left relieved to have this terrible experience behind us. Good drinks, good service. Awful food and management. Won’t be back and will try to warn others as we are locals.

Excellent choice of seafood dishes. We started with a serving of Hush Puppies that were made to perfection. I chose an Oyster Po’ Boy with lettuce, fried green tomatoes, Calabrese chili pepper mayonnaise served on ciabatta bread. My wife chose their steak sandwich made with filet mignon tips, sauteed onions, mushrooms, peppers, spinach, horseradish mayonnaise on ciabatta bread.

We just spent a three day weekend in the Beaufort area, and during that time Fishcamp on 11th gave us our best meal. My wife, a retired chef, was still raving about the stuffed flounder the next day. That's pretty much unheard of. I had the shrimp and polenta, and it was very good. Our server, Melody, was very pleasant and attentive. All in all, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to the Beaufort area.

Had been here before and had good experiences. Had guests visiting so stopped there for lunch. Probably close to a half hour wait for our meals while others around who came in after us were being served. Worst - I ordered the Fish and Chips - fish was Flounder and was 2 pieces, each about 4'' x 1'' and 1/4'' thick. Have never seen such a pitiful serving. French fries were pedestrian. Friend ordered shrimp which were undersized and not many. Mussels were good and chicken sandwich did not get any complaint. Other than the beautiful view were disappointed

2 couples for a late lunch. Very pleasant outdoor seating at high top near bar with nice view of waterfront. Excellent service from bar keep who provides food & bar service for outdoor area very efficiently. Menu is quite limited, though that is often a good thing. Catch of the day fish sandwich was decent, though certainly not overflowing with grouper. The salad was average. The oyster po boy with fried green tomatoes was awful. We order lowcountry fried oysters often, but this was (tied for) the worst we have ever had! 3 tiny shriveled oysters, 2 equally thin bits of tomato on a large, unpleasant tasting bun which for some reason was served with the top half cut in half , but not the bottom. The accompanying slaw tasted like it’s base was green goddess dressing.

A beautifully location near the water. The food was great , the waitress great but on a crowded night the food takes awhile to be served. We had blackened catfish, oysters and mussels. The catfish was seasoned great and the accompanying okra cakes delicious. The oysters were fresh, but the best was the seasoning that came with the mussels.

Our experience today was unacceptable. We wanted to have a late family lunch/ early dinner. When we got to our table outside the view was nice, but it was windy and cold. I asked multiple times for the heater to be turned on. Once our order was taken, the server was inattentive. We waited for over 45 minutes for our food to be delivered. While we waited, the table next to us were vaping. After 45 minutes passed, I went to the hostess to ask about our order. Once our food was delivered it was evident that it had been sitting under the warmer for a long time. The fish and hamburger were overdone and unacceptable. There was no apology for our meal coming out late. We have frequented Fish Camp for many years but this will be our last visit. The food is not worth the price. The service is unacceptable.

We stopped on our day trip from HHI over to Beaufort, since it was rated No. 1 for Port Royal, which from the size of this hamlet is maybe not saying that much. We concluded it rates a marginal excellent none the less. We had the 6 shrimp cocktail ($10), fried pickles and calamari with sauces ($11), Ahi tuna bowl ($17) and split the Camp Basket ($19). All very good choices but we felt the lunch portions of fried shrimp (6), oysters (5), flounder (1) & fries were a little light with the fries just so so. Sodas at $3.25, we feel are bit high. Our waitress, Andrea, was excellent and the water front view of boats from the breezy porch was too.

Visiting the area for the first time for our grandson's boot camp graduation from Parris Island. We had quite a long wait, but it was well worth it. Food was delicious, views overlooking the water were spectacular... And our server "Ty" was very attentive. I would highly recommend Fish Camp, but I would recommend reservations.

Fish Camp is very crowded and reservations are suggested but they will take walk-ins. We waited about 40 min on a table. Food is average and nothing to write home about. Next trip to Port Royal we are going to try Madison's. It's a little more expensive, but maybe the food will be better. Hushpuppies are not cooked to order. According to waitress they are "batched cooked", They did not have a jalapeno flavor and were rubbery like they are reheated in the microwave.

We selected Fish Camp to celebrate our new Marine graduate! We reserved a table for 8 for 7:45. We arrived on time and waited and waited. Imani was super nice and said there was another group at the table they had reserved for us, who had been there for 2 hours, already eaten and were just sitting and chatting and wouldn't leave. Of course, we didn't expect the restaurant to be rude to them. After about 40 minutes, we were seated at a different table and Amber was our server. She was fantastic and even went to the kitchen to bring out the recipe for the Key Lime pie so I could take a picture of it to make it at home! Now, THAT'S great service! If we're ever in the area again, we'll reserve a table at Fish Camp. If you're in the area, give them a try and after eating, go out and walk their pier ~ their sunset view is picture perfect!

I was excited to try this restaurant because they are dog friendly on the patio and the menu looked yummy. The wait was short and after we ate there i figured out why. The jalepeno hush puppies were good but that was it. The fried fish, broccoli slaw and calamari tasted unseasoned. The poke tuna bowl had pickles instead of cucumber as advertised. Who puts pickles in a poke bowl?! Insult added to injury when I had to pay the check. I can say the server was friendly and on point. The view was pretty. I’m sorry we wasted our time eating here.
