My amazing friend found this place and when she handed me the menu, I kept asking if she was sure everything on the menu was gluten free and she said she was almost positive and we asked our awesome waitress and she said yes to...everything but the hush puppies. I was so excited and happily overwhelmed because I can rarely order fried food but not at all disappointed- so amazing that everyone was eating gluten free and didn't know it - simple amazing!More

Great service and have always liked the atmosphere at that building. However…the 3 of us agreed that food was excessively salty (fries, au jus for Moon Doggie sandwich, tasso cream sauce). Given the largely senior lunch crowd on weekdays, please let us add salt to...suit our own tastes and circumstances. The creme brulee was good but $9. for a small creme brulee was ridiculous. Fried grit cakes with Seafood and Grits entree were dense and not very good at all. The Moon Doggie sandwich was a very sad version of the excellent one under former owners. I won’t pick this as a place to go…but would go if that’s where a friend might want to go and would just order something simple.More

We had not eaten at Madison’s for a couple of COVID filled years. Four of us went there the other night. We started with Crab Stuffed Mushrooms and crab and artichoke fondue. The fondue was fine, but undistinguished. The stuffed mushrooms were not stuffed, but...more like crab and bread stuffing loose on a plate with some cooked mushrooms. For mains two had the crab cakes. They were way overly salted. Another had the seared scallops. He enjoyed them. I had the ribeye steak and it was flat awful. Kind of grey looking and full of gristle. It should never have left the kitchen. Our server, Margo (?) was efficient and delightful.More

Best food by far, of any restaurant we visited on this week. Locally recommended, and we see why. Keep it up!

Beautiful place, quaint. My husband had the mushroom Swiss burger and loved it. I had the spinach salad with grilled shrimp and it was spectacular. We each had a drink and enjoyed a nice conversation with a neighboring table. The waiter was wonderful; I believe...it was Caleb. We had the crab stuffed mushrooms for a appetizer and loved those too.More

We happened upon Madisons as the original place we were going was an hour wait. I am so glad we did. The food was excellent, had the stuffed flounder and She Crab Soup. Our service was prompt and very polite and friendly. I will certainly...go back again when in the area. Prices were so reasonable.More

I was expecting food like I got at Moon Doggies. I ordered the Moon Doggie, the shaved prime rib. There was hardly any beef in the sandwich, the roll was boring, the beef was full of fat. I ended up giving the meat to my...dog who was with me out on the porch. I faced the inside of the restaurant at my table and the windows were filthy. the fries were drab. I was planning on eating here a lot during my vacation but would never ever go back. It was really sad and bad..More

First time ever going there. The shrimp burger was fantastic. Best I’ve ever had. Honestly much much better than the shrimp shack.

The , the service, and the atmosphere made for a special evening out with friends. We started with a bottle of good chardonnay, followed by a dozen oysters on the half shell that were fresh and delicious. I enjoyed absolutely the best stuffed flounder I...have ever tasted. Everyone else raved about their choices. We did not have to box anything for take out. Our plates were clean. Excellent restaurant.More

We were a party of 9 that ate there on Aug. 13th (Friday eve) for a Birthday celebration with family (from out of town) and friends. We were seated in the middle room on one of the hottest days with no a/c or fans going....Needless to say, by the time our entrees came to the table I was dripping wet, burning up from the heat as well as some of my guests. I had mentioned this to our waitress and was told, "I know, tell me something I don't know". Not a good way to accommodate paying customers. We ordered apps, soups, salads and entrees. By the time my 3 tiered Seafood Tower arrived, I was done as I was super hot, miserable and burning up (I also suffer from Asthma). Did not get to eat 1/4 way through my Seafood Tower as I lost my appetite. My family notified me that their meals were just ok, and 1 person said they did not care for theirs at all. We wrapped what was left of my Seafood Tower to go and asked to bring out the Birthday Cake out as the only thing I wanted to do at that time was get the hell out of there as I felt I was suffocating! My husband footed the $600.00 bill (plus gratuities) and left. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone, ever! Between the so-so food and the no ventilation, not a good mix for a pleasant evening dining out. Sorry Madison's you lost our business (and we do dine out very frequently - especially to your competitor down the street).More

I discovered Madison’s through Find Me Gluten Free app as I have celiac disease and it can be a struggle finding safe places to eat. It was a 45 minute drive but well worth it. Very friendly staff, casual, welcoming atmosphere, great food and a...real treat being able to have things to eat that I normally cannot (they use rice flour and have a separate fryer so no cross-contamination issues). Ended up going back nightly when I was in SC and was made to feel like a local when I went in each night!More

I had a lovely time at Madison's. It's tucked away and super cozy. I sat at the bar by myself and met some great folks. I had the tuna tartare to start. There were lots of chips and stuff but not that much actual tuna...it seemed. Didn't seem to have much flavor either. I then had some fried oyster which were ok. I think fried oysters are difficult to do well, however. I still had a nice time and appreciated the company and attentive service.More
