My BFF and I came here to celebrate her birthday and had the most wonderful dinner and dining experience imaginable. Our server Tyler was wonderful. He was attentive but not intrusive. The decor and ambience of 21 Main set the stage for a memorable evening and his excellent service just added to the event. For appetizers I had Oysters Rockefeller (the best I've ever eaten) and my friend had the Parmesan Crusted Baked Shrimp with a Wine and Garlic Cream Sauce. She gave me one to try (Unfortunately I had to give up one of my oysters) and it was to die for. Along with this, they served some really good fresh baked bread with a nice crust and, of course, real butter. I could hardly stop myself from eating the bread it was so good but knew I had to save room for dinner. I love Manhattens and they were just the way I like them with the good liquor infused cherries that you only find in the best restaurants and bars. (I know. I'm spoiled.) For a limited time, they were offering a 3-course Prix Fix menu for only $39.00 per person and we took advantage of it. My friend had the Caesar Salad (very good) and I had the She Crab soup (over the top). Her entree was the New York Strip steak and it was out of this world... Tender and just melted in your mouth and such flavor can't be described. (She let me have a bite.) I had the Herb Roasted Chicken which was good but after tasting her steak, I wished I had chosen the steak instead. It came with creamed potatoes and asparagus. For dessert we chose the house made NY cheesecake and chocolate torte which we took back to our hotel room and enjoyed later. Both were very good. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our meal. We were never rushed and left feeling very relaxed and satisfied. Oh, to eat that way every day! Of note: They took all covid precautions.

Made our reservation on line at Open Table a few days before our arrival in Myrtle Beach, I was surprised that I didn't receive a confirmation text as I normally do with Open Table reservations. We arrived at the restaurant on time for our reservation and the Maitre D at the door was welcoming and confirmed our reservation. He asked us to wait a moment and he left to check on a table, returned and escorted us to our table. Our server greeted us and inquired our beverage order and did well to explain the service and menu of the restaurant. His name was Matthew. I ordered a glass of King Estate Pinot Noir and my guest ordered an iced tea. Matthew returned with the beverages and took our order. I ordered the French Onion Soup ($11) and my guest ordered a Caesar salad ($12). We both ordered the 16oz NY Strip Steak ($55). I asked for a blue cheese topping ($4) and my guest ordered a compound butter ($4). We ordered a half portion of creamed spinach ($8) and sauteed mushrooms ($8). I sipped a taste of my glass of wine and noted immediately that it was off flavor. I called Matthew over to the table and explained that the wine was skunked. He explained that he saw the bartender pour a little from an older opened bottle before opening a new bottle, he then apologized and went and retrieved a new glass. The new one was fine. Food was served in a timely fashion. The steaks were almost totally void of any fat covering and totally lean. Cooked to perfection they were excellent. My onion soup was made with an excellent beef broth and melted cheese. The half sides were just perfect for us. The bread service came a bit late after our entrees were served. The bread was warm and very good. Matthew did well to inquire if we wanted dessert but we passed. Matthew could have enhanced service by doing a bit more to build a rapport with us with some conversation during his service. All in all a very good high end upscale steak experience. Highly recommend this restaurant.

During the pandemic, restaurants have been forced to retool and focus on takeout and delivery. I doubt that 21 Main was geared for that market, being a fine dining, sit down establishment. They were offering a limited menu for a three course meal to pick up, featuring salad, entree and dessert at a price that is significantly lower than what you would normally pay. Four of us decided to order one evening and take advantage of the special. Expectations were tempered since we assumed takeout would mean the food could be somewhat compromised from the time you pick it up till you start eating. Let me just say all four of us were blown away by the quality of the food from the tenderness of the beef, freshness of the salad and attention to detail in the sauces. My NY strip was one of the best I’ve had in my 61 years, and it was takeout! Desserts were also delicious. Kudos to 21 Main! I urge my fellow locals to support this hard working business (and others) during these uncertain times.

This place is supposed to be a top notch restaurant and has the high prices that would make it seem that way. However, our experience was sub par at best. I am being kind to give it 3 starts. First, it was noisy and the servers push carts around that made it seem like a highway. I felt bad for the tables in the highway median. For appetizers we had fried green tomatoes and arancini. They were both burnt in a deep fryer. My expensive wine was good but was a very short pour. The filet minion was good but small (6 oz). It was served with exactly 3 spears of asparagus. My encrusted red snapper was also small and seemed to have no encrustment. The brussel sprouts were hard as a rock. I ate a couple but others were too hard to break up. Desserts were also just OK.

We ordered the filet mignon’s. Mine was the 14 ounce the wife ordered the 8 ounce. We both ordered our steak medium. We also ordered mushrooms and mashed potatoes. I had the Caesar salad, which turned out to be the best part of the meal. The mashed potato’s were dry and clumpy and the mushrooms were salty. The stakes came lightly charred and lacked that steakhouse flavor we were looking for. The 14 oz was served medium raw and lacked flavor. The 8oz had better char, but was slightly under cooked. We had two cocktails with our meal which drove the total price to $200. For that I’d expect a better cooked meal. I won’t comment about the service because most restaurants are struggling coming out of COVID.

In a time where your money does not go as far you pay closer attention to good food and good service, but this is not what my family recently received and after speaking with Steve the manager it is highly unlikely you will receive it either if you dine at 21 Main Street. Made reservations and informed them that this was my daughters birthday (should have listened to her as she wanted to go to Thoroughbreds Chophouse). They started to seat us directly in front of their elevator in a loft area that over looked an incredible loud large party which garnered all of the staff’s attention. They were able to move us only after we were about to leave. Took over an hour and a half to receive our Soup and salad, an additional 40 minutes after that for the entrees which were sub-par, lacking flavor even with the additional wine reduction sauce. With so many other local choices available such as NY Prime, Thoroughbred, Soho, and Bistro 90, save your money and headaches by not visiting this establishment. As a business owner I always welcome feedback as this is how I improve, when I called the following day to let Steve know our experience he actually stated don’t come back. It might behoove Gerald and Matthey Scollan to either properly train or replace the management as they are clueless on customer service.

Josh was horrible as a server. Music and food were great but waited 20 minutes for water. Appetizers were served with the soup. Josh forgot one soup. 1/2 way through the appetizers and soup Josh brought the entrees and apologized but left them anyhow. So, appetizers, soups and main course were on the table all at once. He then disappeared and the table was cluttered with dirty dishes. We have been to 21Main a dozen or more times. Food is always excellent, the live music was great too, but the service was horrible. I’ve worked in the food service industry, run restaurants, owned restaurants, and eaten in literally 100s of establishments and I’ve never had such horrible service in my life. If you get Josh as a server, either ask for another server, or leave.

This was a special occasion treat for us and it was a little disappointing. Our server did not smile once during the entire evening, acted as though she was doing us a favor by serving us, seemed irritated that I asked her nicely to TELL me about the wines due to the low lighting and small print on the wine list (I couldn't read it even with my glasses on!). Her attitude put a damper on the evening for us. The meal was good, though my filet was NOT cooked to order, EXTRA RARE. My companion's filet was to his liking. We enjoyed the shared sides of creamed spinach and mashed potatoes and both the Martinis and wine were very good. I will go back to 21 Mail again but will be more particular about what I order and HOW I order it. Hopefully, next time we will have a different server!

If you are looking for a classy night out, take a chance on this North Myrtle Beach Steakhouse. Table cloths, aged beef on display in case, servers with attention to detail. Food to die for and then some. I ordered the filet because I ALWAYS order filet in a restaurant of this caliber. It is tender and cooked just right. You can split of side (separate price offered for this option), but I chose to go rogue and ordered the Tater Tots. Do NOT go there to frozen tater tots. These four puffs 2 inches of aged cheddar cheese and potato are magnificent touch to your steak. I was able to eat two of the four. Took the left over back and enjoyed later in the week. My steak was prepared precisely as it should be. Our salads were excellent as well. My husband had the wedge (his favorite) and was not disappointed. Don't go here looking for a bargain. This is high end, treat yourself because you deserve it, kind of restaurant.

Eight of us visited this place during Restaurant Week. Seven of us had never been there before. We had a limited menu to choose from for a fixed price. Everyone of the eight of us was pleased with our whole experience. The food was excellently prepared, our server, MJ, was excellent and the pace of the meal was just right. Three of us had the steak and the other five had the red snapper main entrée. My steak was done perfectly and it was very tender. The appetizers and the desserts were also very good. As I told the manager when I left, this was one of the best meals I have had in my 16 years living in the area. I will definitely go back for a special occasion. If I could afford to go there more frequently, I surely would.

Delicious steak and an amazing lobster mac and cheese. We ordered the tomahawk ribeye which was cooked just right and wow, the Mac & cheese maybe one of the best I've ever had. The pasta was cooked al dente with nice bits of lobster mixed in (although could have been a little more). Nice blend of cheese that came out creamy but not oily. Worth a visit. Also, we visited right after reopening because of COVID19 and kudos for doing a great job with the social distancing and having the staff wear masks.

Located across the street from Barefoot shops, this fine dining restaurant is ideal for a romantic evening or just a great meal. Rocco, our waiter, was exceptional. He explained how almost everything that we were about to eat is made in house and aged on site. We opted for the Sun.-Thurs. special and were very pleased with the 3 course meals that we ordered. Every Thurs., there is a live singer that gives this place a very special place to enjoy a meal. The special starts with fresh home made bread and a Caesar salad. A limited menu is part of this special, but the variety gave almost any diner a nice choice of food. The final course is a choice of 2 home made deserts. If you order off of the main menu, the meal is pricey. A great atmosphere, excellent food and a great staff make this a special place for a great night of food.

We stayed at the North Beach Plantation and reserved this dinner for our last night. We were a little worried we couldn't get outdoor seating, however, the outdoor patio was beautiful - almost like an Italian villa. The staff was very COVID conscious - all wearing masks and gloves and they took care to separate tables appropriately. The food was amazing - everything from the seasonal appetizers to the Chilean Sea Bass and steak my husband ordered was exceptionally prepared. Our waiter, Rocco, was very attentive and we couldn't have had a better final night of vacation.

The place was beautiful. Everyone was very well spaced out due to restrictions. The service was impeccable. The food was deliciously prepared. We started with French onion soup and shrimp cocktail. The main courses were filet mignon and lobster tail, and 14oz ribeye, cooked to perfection. A gigantic baked potato with all the fixins, some creamed spinach and asparagus. It was great. It was a lovely dinner with cocktails to celebrate meeting each other. We were very happy we chose 21 Main for dinner.

I have been coming here since 2015 and have brought friends and family in small and large groups. I always knew it would be worth the price. Last year, however, I was greatly disappointed. I decided since my friend from California was visiting again we would give it another try. Oh MY was it a redeeming experience! The food was amazing. Oysters, lobster bisque, burrata with peaches (special), swordfish and surf and turf all could not have been prepared any better! Or waitress, I believe Hayley, made this experience even better with impeccable timing. I will definitely come back here next trip!
