Server was Drew. Quick and attentive. Ordered the calamari, which was good but not fantastic. Tea was $3.25... a bit high, I think. I had tilefish, a first for me. Good, but I ordered it blackened and it was too much for me. Really overpowered...the fish. They need to be a little more light-handed on the seasoning. Or, maybe ask someone how much blackening they want. Husband had grouper, said it was nicely prepared. Was backed up the the intercoastal waterway, so I was able to see any boats that came through. Not sure if we would go back if in the area.More

My husband and I were in the area yesterday for business and decided to have lunch at Flying Fish. We loved it! The restaurant is very nice, the view is great, the lunch specials are a fantastic deal and our server, Tiffany V. was the...nicest, most professional server we have ever had anywhere. We will definitely go back next time we're in the area!More

I first need to say I am not a seafood lover, but I had a wonderful experience here. It did not smell like fish, but everything was fresh and delicious. Wonderful experience a must visit.

I come here once or twice a year and it's likely to be less going forward. I use to come for the HH - it had great apps and drink offerings. I still enjoy getting a sushi roll - the sweet potato fries are a...good option but very tired of the same offerings for a few years now. Wouldn't a chef want to change things up a bit? The one change for the worse IMO is the drink offerings - I got a long island ice tea in the spring - horrible and weak. This time I just got a blue moon draft and the HH price was $5? Lots of options here in MB... this whole group (Homegrown Hospitality) has really gone down hill in the past 5 years.More

First of all, service was great. Food gets mixed reviews, My wife ordered "fresh" mahi-mahi that maybe was either not that fresh or overcooked. Not terrible, but not great. I had a combo shrimp and oysters (fried) platter. Shrimp was great, oysters were very small...and overcooked. Fries were good and plentiful. Smoked mahi-mahi dip (free to begin) was really good. Disappointing because the last time we were here I gave it a five-star rating. Such is life in the restaurant business.More

We had to wait about 45 minutes for a table because of the pre show crowd. We had nice seat overlooking the water. It was still a bit noisy with the remnants of the show crowd but calmed down in a short while. Our server...was very friendly and attentive. We started with fried calamari which were the smallest I’ve seen and were a bit rubbery. My wife’s grilled mahi mahi with mango salsa was overcooked and dry. However my jambalaya was tasty. I don’t think we’d dine here again unless it was less busy and frenetic.More

Average at Best. I think the prices are to high for the quality of food. We were not impressed at all. We won't be back. The Taste is bland.

Excellent food and service in the the middle of a huge tourist food and shopping center in North Myrtle Beach. Best waitstaff I can recall for years. A big thank you to Mathew P. for superior table service in the kind of area (seasonal beach...area) where that's very hard to find.More

Really good food! Grilled salmon is fabulous, they give you your choice of sauces and if you ask they’ll give you two different ones all are delicious. Other people in our party had crabcakes they raved about and a huge serving of fish and chips....The only concern was the lack of timely service. We understand every restaurant has trouble getting wait staff, so the restaurant is still delicious they just need more help.More

In years past when we ate here it was an almost automatic 5 star. Not this year, while she completely enjoyed her sword fish dinner, mine was not so good. What so many places on the coast serving seafood almost exclusively fail to understand that...while I do not eat much seafood in fact I actually hold VETO power for our dinning. WHY? WHAT? Everywhere servers seafood, especially shrimp, most do it quite well, but few spend any real interest in offering and actually preparing food for the non- fish eater. I ordered a steak, it was if memory servers me, $38. I live in the mid-west so any restaurant serving a steak let alone one billed and costing this amount would be out of business within days if they served the steak I was given. Did I complain? NO. I was not going to ruin her dinner by saying something. One end of it was grisly the middle and other end was well done NOT medium and dry with little flavor. By the time we left town she gave me 2 other places where the sea food was better.More

We went for the Happy Hour specials. The drink menu was so so, special prices were only for the local beers and the usual bar beers. Cocktails were watered down because of the large amount of ice in the cup. First off, we were given...a complimentary small cup of the delicious fish dip. We came for the raw oyster HH prices-$9 for half dozen. The crispy coconut shrimp, sticky ribs were tasty and the spicy tuna sushi was very spicy. We brought friend for HH a few days later. We ordered 1.5 dozen oysters this time (still excellent), coconut shrimp, and peel and eat shrimp, and spicy tuna sushi. Sadly, our friends' sticky ribs were overcooked and burnt, but they enjoyed the raw oysters.More

First time visiting Flying Fish but it won’t be the last. Very good fresh fish selection prepared the way you want it. So good. Very busy restaurant but worth the wait. Start with a basket of hush puppies, you will be glad you did!
