Pollo Tropical is a Florida chain so I was surprised to see one in Charleston SC. The food is very tasty and the cost is low. The chicken was infused in tropical citrus juices and was very tender. The black beans and rice was outstanding. This is a good budget place to eat!

The high reviews drove us to try this. I just did not see it. The place is a family run operation. The place is a bit stark and is not in a very good strip mall. But the food was tasty but it was not better that a 3 star place for dinner. Service is great.

Pollo Loko was a welcome surprise. My mother had just finished up some local business, so we were looking for something local that seemed unique, and Pollo Loko fit the bill. It's a little off the beaten path and is definitely a hole in the wall (frankly, those are my favorite kind of places), but the food was satisfying and... More

Hole in the wall in a shopping center that is focused on bringing out the Best flavors in the food. Chicken was perfectly Cooked, sausage had great taste and meats were very good. I could close my eyes while eating and imagine myself back down south in Ecuador or Peru, same savory tastes.

I'm in Charleston on business and I noticed Pollo Tropical on Trip Advisor not too far from my hotel. This happens to be one of my favorite chains when I travel and has great food. Their site on TRIP ADVISOR advertises EXACTLY the SAME MENU as Pollo Tropical. However when you get their it is NOT the same Pollo Tropical... More

A little bit of everything from Brazilian, Peruvian and Latin America. I had a great lunch and I wish I knew of this place years ago. I will be going back and soon. Don't let the building scare you away!

Crappy building, excellent food! Don't let the exterior stop you from coming in. We ordered the chicken and rib combo, it was fantastic! Staff speaks English so don't worry about that.

I've driven by this location many times and never thought to go in until a friend invited me for lunch. The food was so good I returned again the next day. The chicken and ribs were absolutely delicious and the sides rounded out a truly fantastic meal. Despite a bit of a language barrier the staff was friendly and the... More

It's a bare bones restaurant in a run down strip mall but we all loved our meals. I had the huaraches, daughter 1 had the tropical quesadilla, daughter #2 had a burrito, and the husband had the rib and chicken combo platter. Daughter 1 had high praise for her meal. Mine was great, too, but I think I would have... More
