My wife ate at Amici's for dinner prior to attending a concert in Charleston. We shared the Steamed Mussels appetizer, each chose the homemade soup Sausage, vegetables and pasta in a garlic tomato base (awesome). My wife had Chicken Amici (marsala chicken with provolone cheese...on top), I had Veal Marsala. We shared a bottle of wine and had a cannoli for desert. Food Quality and Service was fantastic! The price incredibly reasonable $90 before tip. We are looking forward to our next two concerts in Charleston and eating at Amici's in September and October!More

We contacted Jennifer about 4-5 months ahead to plan a date for our First Grandson's Graduation from high school family dinner. Easy to deal with, all plans in place, no worries. Service by Abbie and Gina was excellent, never missed a beat. Everyone’s entrees we’re...delicious. Thank you Amicis for making our graduation family dinner a priority and special. Could not have asked for better.More

We love coming to have dinner at Amici's! We are never disappointed. The Meatball sliders are delicious (and I do not eat others meatballs but my own...lol), so I know I am 100% Italian! Fabulous food, service and sangria! Jennifer and Mario are THE BEST,...you really should check it out.....My personal favorite dish is the Shrimp with Lemon butter, garlic and spinach, over al dente spaghetti!!! Bon Apetite!!!!More

My wife and I ate at Amici's on Saturday 4/23. We each had the homemade sausage and mushroom soup which was awesome. We also both had the Veal Amici which was veal marsala with provolone cheese melted on top with handmade pasta. We finished dinner...with a cannoli and chocolate cake! Everything was so awesome, it is our intention to eat there every time we are in the Charleston area.More

They did well on seating us as stated, however it took 45 minutes to be served our dinners. The Veal Parmigiano was gristley and burned. The saddest thing was that it was cold. We requested to have the spaghetti noodle changed to penne or something...bite size. We were advised that they won't do that because it upsets the chef. Really? Switching pasta? We also ordered the meatball sliders, they were ok, nothing exciting. We received two small rolls with our meals, when we requested more, we were charged an additional $2. Highly disappointed.More

Your typical Italian restaurant with paintings of Italy on the walls, old blue eyes signing etc. etc. Luckily the food is good, with freshly baked rolls to start with (always a good sign), then an excellent Caesar salad and a top notch chicken piccata. If...I'd had any room left I would have tried one of the desserts. My only niggle is that my side plate wasn't perfectly clean.More

It's been 12 years searching for decent Italian food that was found in every shopping center in the North East. On my maiden voyage to Amici yesterday I finally felt like I was back home. Having grown up not far from Billy Joel's Italian restaurant...entering Amici's front door was a verse from the song. Red checkered table cloths a bottle of olive oil on the table, friendly staff, and a relaxed vibe set the stage for an enjoyable dining experience. The menu is limited but hits all the high points. veal, chicken, shrimp/clams. red sauce and brown sauce to satisfy any palete. The prices are reasonable and given that entrees come with soup or salad Amici's offers great value. I have long stopped complaining about restaurants no longer making a side salad as part of the meal. Now a salad has become an $11 appetizer! amici's should be congratulated for not caving to the trend of giving less and charging more. My other pet peeve with restaurants is their wine pricing. All those North East family-run places typically had an affordable house wine, dare I date myself and say half carafe of wine? Again Kudos to Amici for bucking the trend. There is a reason you open at 4 pm and by 4:30 parking is hard to find. We were the first ones in the door at 4 pm, as a matter of fact, we waited in the parking lot for a half-hour. We found this place through online reviews, and it was worth the wait. Gina waited on us and Mario came over to the table and chat. speaking with Mario for three seconds I knew we had a connection and sure enough, both of us came from Long Island NY. As to the food, I had the veal, Amici. The veal was fried not sauteed for all-you healthy nuts served with a brown sauce over what tasted like homemade pasta. The dish was tasty and the mushroom was fresh, not canned. My wife had shrimp with spaghetti and spinach, again the pasta tasted fresh and was a nice portion. Great food, reasonable prices, friendly efficient service means it will be hard to get a table. My hope is that they join other Charleston restaurants and make the move to Summerville! Amici's is not that bucket place list kind of place where it is one and done, nope it is a place where you eventually have your regular table for a weekly dining experience. Mario, I'll be back save that corner table!!More

We were looking for a non-chain restaurant nearby and found Amici online. Wonderful from the moment we walked in. The gentleman that greeted us was very nice and attentive and our server was really nice and helpful. We weren't super hungry and decided to split...the Chicken Amici....delicious!! They say there is a $5 splitting fee, but that is if you want it split onto 2 plates, but according to the server, you get more than the original plate. We opted for the regular size and split it ourselves at the table. The pasta it came on was cooked perfectly, I thought it was homemade. We had a side of meatballs as thoughts how I judge an Italian restaurant, and they were very good. The bread rolls you get are hot and fresh! Definitely recommend and hope to maybe get back before we leave here.More

Came in from Michigan to visit my sister and she was super excited about trying Amicis due to the number of positive revews. Let me start off saying there are a number of really great Italian restaurants in suburban Detroit. I was expecting the same...caliber of food. Don't know if it was an off night for Amicis or is my taste palate too sophisticated for this restaurant. We had 5:30 reservations on Friday, September 24th. The restaurant was pretty empty when we came in and yet with reservations made one week in advance were seated on the bar side (our fault for not asking for a change). We ordered calamari to start the meal. It was so-so and was a little over done. We had a variety of entrees. My sister had a seafood pasta which she said was OK. My husband had Chicken Marsala which was made with a cream sauce. There again he said it was just okay. My brother in-law had eggplant parmiggian and after two bites said there was no eggplant in it but heavily breaded. I ordered veal caprese which should of had veal, mozzarella cheese and tomatoe. The veal was very thick and heavily breaded. There were sliced cherry tomatoes in the sauce which was extremely salty. After placing my dish in front of me she accidently tipped my Sangria over. She did replace my wine with a so-called Sangria; the closest it came to Sangria was the cut up fruit. Totally different from my first glass of Sangria. It tasted like it was made with an inexpensive red wine. My brother-in-law asked for our waitress Robin and told her there was no eggplant in this and wanted it sent back. He requested it be replaced with Pasta Primevara. When it came he said the veggies were still frozen. The owner came over to ask about the the eggplant dish and was told there was no eggplant in the recipe but a lot of breading on it. She stated it was fresh from her garden. That might have been but there wasn't much to identify. We did not venture to try dessert. My sister felt terrible as she wanted us to try a new place for anItalian dinner. Additionally, the next day, after reviewing the bill my husband used a Credit Card for paynent and was charged a service fee for using the card. Not to add insult to injury,, tax was charg ed on the total bill which included the service charge!!!!!!! Needless to say there will never be a second visit.More

My husband and I took a 6.5 hour drive from Virginia Beach, Va just to eat at Amici's because we had become friends with Jen and the staff several years ago. Finer people you will never meet. They are a family owned business and they...treat you like you are part of that family when you are there. I had the sausage and peppers over penne pasta and it was absolutely fabulous! My husband had he Chicken Amici, which is covered in a mushroom gravy sauce that is to die for! I will be ordering that next time! Food, service, and atmosphere combine to make Amici's Italian Bistro a must when in the Charleston, SC area.More
