About
Offering the Best in Southern Gullah Cuisine. We are a veteran owned Family Restaurant located in North Charleston, SC. We offer Cafeteria style eating from a hot bar where you have the option of selecting a meat along with some sides but if there is nothing on the HOT BAR you have the option of selecting something off the menu and have it cooked to order. We are best known for our Seafood Rice which consist of Shrimp, Scallops, along with real crab meat all combined in a fried rice. We have been recognized locally for our Mac-n- Cheese and Fried Chicken. We offer signature dishes in which some are named after The Three Sons. Antwan Son #1 favorite dish is "The Antwan's Chicken and Sea" combines chicken wings with Shrimp and Oyster and comes with two sides. Sedale Son #2 has a Wing section which includes whole wings and drumettes and they can be made into a bunch of house made sauces. Courtenay was Son #3 and his favorite meal was the Big C Grill Chicken Breast Sandwhich

It’s on the side of a wide, ugly road, but the signage and the purple painted exterior are cues that the restaurant has charm and personality. When we entered a mail carrier on his lunch break entered with us and a pair of regular customers entered shortly after us. The woman behind the counter managed to warmly welcome us and explain the options while also helping the people who already knew how it works. My wife and daughters smiled and we knew we were in a good place. The food was behind glass at the counter and we ordered one entree and three sides, with options to have things combined in a bowl or in separate dishes. The okra soup, red rice, mashed potatoes with turkey gravy, black eyed peas, baked chicken and fried chicken were highlights. Delicious. We took our food on trays to the dining room. We enjoyed looking around at the decor. Great lunch! And close to 526 so it’s a convenient stop if you’re driving to or from Charleston.

I ordered a turkey wing and a slice of meat loaf, with sweet potatoes and dressing on the side. Meat loaf was wonderful, turkey wing meat we a little dry and the outside skin was too soggy for my liking... dressing was a little salty but the sweet potatoes were spot on delicious. If you are like me and do not eat pork all veggies i.e cabbage beans collards etc are cooked with pork..I saw fat back piece I them so I didn't get those. .I asked before I saw it as I started my order if pork was in the veggies and the waitress didn't know so I went to see for myself...so please be careful if you don't eat pork.

We were a group of 47, they had only two servers which didn’t work. The portions were a child’s portion. The choices were (a very small) salad or okra soup, (small thin) fried catfish or boiled tilapia with Mac & cheese, or (a small) pulled pork sandwich with French fries. Dessert was a plain yellow cake with icing on top.
The food and dessert was ok, but as I said a child’s portion. Service was very slow, if you asked for a condiment you would eventually get it, the Mac & cheese was room temperature. The gentleman in charge was sarcastic when you asked him anything. We left still hungry. The overall experience was very disappointing.

Collard greens, Mac and cheese, okra and ribs were perfect! Corn bread was sweet and yummy. The shrimp and grits were as delicious as downtown Charleston foodie places!!

A bit hard to find on an old-style divided highway, but well worth the effort. Cafeteria style. Good selection of fried and stewed items. Delicious fried chicken, collards, rice with gravy, biscuits. Warm, friendly service.

While there is a huge selection to choose from, the wife and I came here specifically for the seafood, and we could not have been happier. But first a little about this place.
It resides in a purple-painted building just off Dorchester, at what looks like a previous fast foot join like maybe a Hardees or burger king. Although you can’t really see it from the road, there is plenty of parking along the side of the building. Inside as I said, looks like a previous fast-food burger joint.
There is a ton of food to choose from, including pre-prepared options served from behind the counter, or other items (like the seafood), freshly cooked from the kitchen.
The wife and I both had and enjoyed the She Crab Soup which was loaded with crab meat. As you can see from the picture I uploaded, the base is a bit darker than most She Crab Soup, but that is probably why there is so much depth and layers built into this dish. The soup is rich and thick, and a bowl could easily make a meal by itself.
The wife ordered the Pick 2 seafood dinner of Fried Oysters and Sea Scallops. For her sides, she got collards and mac-and-cheese.
I also had come for the Pick 2 seafood dinner but ended up with the seafood platter, which included devil crab, Whiting Fillet, as well as Fried Oysters, Shrimp, and sea scallops. My sides were red rice and collards.
The whiting was a very large fillet and was fried nicely in a light batter
The oysters, shrimp, and scallops were also fried perfectly but the batter seemed even lighter than the whiting. All three were amazing.
The devil crab was easily the largest I had ever seen (see pictures), and was placed in a fake tin crab shell. I don’t think the tin shell altered the dish that much, as I was unaware it was not a real shell until I was almost done with the dish.
My platter was served with an amazing remoulade sauce. However, the seafood was so good, I did not use it as I did not want to cover up the amazing flavors of the dinner.
The red rice with chunks of smoked sausage (maybe), did not disappoint. And the collards had a slight sweet heat which we both Loved.
The Cornbread slathered with butter did not disappoint either.
The only thing that was not up to par was the mac-and-cheese, which was too dry, with an odd cheese flavor.
While our meal was great, the next time we come, we will probably check out the prepared non-seafood items like chicken, porkchop, ox tail, and other items.
Lastly, the service was excellent.

We had a great lunch at my 3 sons. This is the real deal. The fried chicken was so delicious. Loved red rice and collards. Truly delicious corn bread. Great stop before touring the Hunley or going into Charleston.

Me, my wife and 39 senior citizens arranged to have dinner at My Three Sons of Charleston. We were served with an outstanding dinner of fried chicken, fried whiting fish, mac and cheese, collard greens.
Everything was delicious.

My husband and I stopped here with friends for lunch. We almost turned around and left when we saw the outside. It is kind of rough looking. Once you walk inside you are drawn to the wonderful aromas of the food. I ordered off the buffet. You get one meat and three sides for about $10. I chose the fried chicken, fried okra, mac and cheese, and one other side. Everyone else ordered off the menu. It took a while for the food to come out but everyone liked their food once it arrived. My husband especially liked the she crab soup.

Visited during Memorial Day holiday. We ordered the white fish. Wow! The servings were plentiful and the sides so good! They have all kinds of desserts, The carrot cake is beyond yummy!
Recommend the greens and string beans, and cornbread does not need anything added. You can eat in or take out.

First time here. Our group came in for a late lunch. Don't let the area or parking lot fool you. Come inside for great, warm service and home cooked meats, vegetables and desserts. Very impressive daily specials of meats and fresh vegetables. And homemade desserts. Continuous fill ups of our beverages. And great service. We will return!!!

When you walk in the door for lunch, you are greeted by two friendly people behind a glass enclosed hot bar. The lunch fare is meat and 3 for $9.98 when i went. There was a very nice selection when i went. I highly recommend the fried chicken but you can't go wrong with pork chops or any of the others. The okra soup was spot on and the gravy was delicious. For a change of pace, i found the ox-tails to be very nice. As an opposite, they have menu selection as well. Overall, the whole experience was pleasant and i have returned several times.

We understand that we had a table of 8, but the service was not good at all. The order was mixed up and while this place was recommended, It really was not a good as advertised by local family and friends. It is quicker to get the food from the takeout buffet line and bring the food into the dining room.
