If it's quantity you want, you will like this place. I did not find the hot food items to be that great and average at best. The fish and other seafood items were tough, like they had been out for a while or overcooked and needed to be refreshed. I tried the fish, butterfly shrimp, crab legs, mussels, stuffed crab... Ordering from the Menu - is about half the price of the Buffet ($30/person). Generous portions. Was there late on a Thursday night and it was not crowded. Food was decent but not elegant.

Thought we would try a "world famous" calabash buffet and cruised on in to this place about mid day to sample the wares.... Wife and I left 80 dollars including tip and left well filled but disenchanted with the run of the mill quality or should I say lack of quality of the food...waitress was great and kept our table... We stopped in and everyone was all smiles and we loved the experience. Thank you so much. We just found a must visit each time we're in town!!! We wanted for nothing, it just magically appeared in front of us, with a big smile, and an infectious laugh.

This place was not my original plan but I found it after googling close by restaurants. My original plan was to go to another buffet but their line was wrapped around the building. When we arrived at Captain Benjamin's we were seated right away. The appearance was clean and the food did not disappoint. Our waitress was also on point... More

The atmosphere is wonderful. It is old world charm that seems to carry you to another time. All the food was good, but the crab legs were fantastic. The way your greeter gave you a tour was nice. There are several Calabash restaurants, but I would definitely recommend Captain Benjamins.

We have went to the beach on several occasions and never went to one of the seafood buffets which I have always wanted to do, so this time we added this to our trip to the beach, probably should have stuck with the original plan. This one was certainly not worth the outrageous price you pay. Food quality was terrible,... More
