Fresh, creative menu, generous portions. Small family business with a local following. A fun place to experiment with unique, traditional offerings.

Yes, sushi is not the only food eaten in Japan! There are plenty of restaurants that serve sushi along the Grand Strand but SoBaya is very different in that its offerings are uniquely Japanese or Korean. If you like noodle dishes as I do, this is the place to eat at. It is very small so a reservation is recommended.... More

Went there for lunch. Very small place, but is well maintained. The salmon was very good. Try the spring rolls. My wife got the pad Thai and she said it was really good.

Me and my family went here because we couldn't get into another restaurant due to an extremely long wait. This was one of the best authentic Japanese/Korean style restaurants I have ever been to. We will definitely go again! No wait and the atmosphere is perfect. BTW, get any of the soup bowls and you definitely won't leave hungry.

We have yet to be disappointed by anything on the menu. Michelle and crew do a great job, particularly on quick take out and the prices are a STEAL. We have settled into a regular order. I get Gyoza for an app followed by a Bibimbap bowl and my wife enjoys the Seared Ahi Tuna salad. Everything is nutritious and... More

My daughter, who is a connoisseur of Japanese food, recommended this quaint little restaurant for lunch one day. And that's all it took, I was hooked. Nice friendly service and a delicious fresh menu. If this is your type of food or you just want to give it a shot then come here, you will not be disappointed.

I've been in Myrtle Beach for almost a week now, and there is a huge void of Asian cuisine. Yes, there are a handful of sushi restaurants, but they don't seem very authentic (see my review of California Rolls). When I looked at the menu at Sobaya, my guess that it was a Korean-owned restaurant, like so many Japanese restaurants... More

Similar to what others have said. Excellent food in a small cozy shop. Mix of japanese and korean dishes. Kids loved the kalbi, bulbogi and ramen noodles. Fast service.
