This review is long-overdue. As a local, visiting several times a year, visiting our local Ruth Chris is an experience that deserves proper recognition. Typically seated at the bar, I've received amazing service, notably from Wendy and Grant, each and every time I visit. From service with a smile, to excellent drink + wine recommendations, it's become as much about the experience, as it is about the great food. Notably the apps, the Ravioli, Ahi and Stuffed Mushrooms make you forget there's still a meal on the way, and fortunately, steaks are cooked to perfection each and every time.
We have a lot of choices here as locals and the service is what brings me back, and I hope this location knows how special Wendy and Grant make our experience every chance they get.

Our experience was beyond excellent, from seating to taking care of the check.
Jeremy was outstanding. He was professional, hospitable and provided knowledgeable information on menu selections as well as the history of Ruth’s Chris. Joyce was training with him and was excellent as well. Makiah, (I’m sure I just butchered the spelling of his name) was excellent as well. All were attentive and made our experience perfect.
Food is always outstanding but the impeccable service was the highlight of the evening.

I have never been to Ruth's Chris before but I have heard good and bad things about it. While on vacation, we decided to check them out as our suite was within walking distance of the place. I made a reservation for 8:15 for a party of 4 on Open Table. The hostess was very pretty with braids and a beautiful smile. She seated us very quickly. Now the service was a bit slow, there was a guy who greeted us first and told us that he was helping out our waitress Kayla. She eventually came to greet us and took our beverage order. We had been waiting for so long that I asked to put in appetizers. The appetizers which were the calamari and crab cakes were great tasting. The calamari was actually a bit cold from sitting BUT we were so hungry; it did not matter. I ordered the stuffed chicken breasts with creamed spinach and sweet potato casserole. We decided as a family to get different sides since they are served family style and we can share. That was a great idea because we were able to try different things!!!!! We had lobster mac n cheese, au gratin potatoes, brussels sprouts, creamed spinach, and sweet potato casserole. The mac and cheese was ok, but it needed salt and pepper; easy fix. I would not order it again but I am glad a tried it. The stuffed chicken breast was phenomenal! It was crispy, juicy, and flavorful; 10 out of 10. My favorite side was the sweet potato casserole. I want some of that for Thanksgiving! The food took forever to get to us and Kayla did not check on us often, but the food was great. I do not know if they were short-staffed or what but the food made up for the slow service. I hope Ruth's Chris where I live is just as great!

I usually don’t write reviews, but I couldn’t help to express my disappointment with my dinner experience at Ruth’s Cris. The service was rushed , but the server was very pleasant . Let’s start with food . My Petit filet and all the other steaks ordered were quality . We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms one of my favorite apps, the filling was so mushy and flavorless , simply put, they were disgusting . No crab that was visible it was like eating cream of wheat or oatmeal stuffed in a mushroom drenched in butter, just gross . The creamed spinach was lukewarm warm and kinda slapped on the table . Potatoes au gratin were small diced potatoes that looked like the kind you buy in the bag at the grocery store with a layer of cheap cheese melted on top of unseasoned creamed potatoes . One bite that was it . The Cesar salad was not chilled and poorly put together . We spent about 160 per person to eat a 8 oz steak , it was extremely disappointing. I will not return to this location . I also noticed that Ruth’s Chris used to have a dress code that clearly stated business casual , over half the people there were in jeans , hoodies and tennis shoes and shorts, looked like we were at a Fridays or Applebees . One other ordered two glasses of wine for our steak and the wine came well into our meal .

For an upscale restaurant we were not impressed. We have eaten here before and noticed a difference. The issue may have been our early eating time, 4:00 PM. It seemed to us that they were not ready for customers. We were greeted by " an assistant" to the waiter who delivered water and promised bread. The bread didn't arrived until we asked, another waiter, after several minutes of waiting. The food, for the most part, was good and delivered hot. My partner asked for sauteed spinach, which they honored. However, when it arrived is was flavorless. We sent it back and all that was done was some raw garlic was added. This dinning experience did not come close to expectations. It will be a long while before we return as there are many upscale restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area and certainly at much less cost.

The restaurant is very nicely appointed. We were one of two groups but were seated at the second table at the front. When the door opens a cold breeze can be felt. The waiter was pleasant and informative. Two of us ordered the lamb chops, one ordered the salmon and one ordered a seafood and steak platter. The lamb chops were tough and impossible for me to cut. The only way to eat them was to pick up the bone and try and chew your way to the bone. They are seasoned with a lot of salt and pepper. The salmon was very good as was the platter. The family sides we chose were mashed potatoes - enough for two small servings. The Brussels sprouts were hit and miss - some were tough, some were soggy and some were perfect. The asparagus was limp and tasteless. The one thing that really bothered me was that the waiter chose my side of the table to pass all the food to the table as well as other diners in our party. I felt like either his elbow or butt was always in my face whether he be serving food or clearing the table. At one point water that was dripping from a coffee server was dripping onto my arm. It made me very uncomfortable. The coffee was excellent as well as the desserts. Overall I was very disappointed in the meal and I will not be returning.

I have eaten at this establishment more than two dozen times, I have seen some obscene things at this location but nothing like what I’ve seen this past week. To start it off I called in for a reservation there was nothing available so I opted to “take the bars first come first serve policy“ only to find a table set up for nine people with a reserve sign in the middle of the table. When I brought it to the attention of the hostess at the front desk, she told me that the people were present, but just not all of them. They were sitting at the bar. What a complete and absurd lie because I got pictures of the girl sitting at the bar , with a dress on so short that her undergarments was showing through the side on top of her leg, “ not a very good sight!” so the manager came over to the table fine young gentleman, and he told me that the table is reserved because the people are all not there and that part of the party is sitting at the bar one hour and 25 minutes into my meal here comes trotting in the nine people to sit at the reserve table. “Not a Ruth Chris policy” what happened to first come first serve? However, ever since this manager took over the place has gone to crap. Erin, you need to pick up the pace you need to get on board with the rest of the corporate and franchise stores. You can’t show favoritism to people when it’s first come first serve you had about 25 people that I have pictures of waiting to get a table but meanwhile, maybe one of your relatives. We’re at that nine person set up, depriving the waiters and waitresses to earn money for an hour and a half of a no-show. Maybe you need to go back to serving and learned that holding tables for people really only hurts the waiters and waitresses and makes your customer base. Think you’re a clown.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you were disappointed in your visit this time. While you are correct on what our dress code states, this policy does not apply to the bar and lounge. It is maintained as a more casual atmosphere so that those who are coming from the beach or their boat can still enjoy a delicious steak dinner. I was there for a business dinner/presentation. Their AV equipment did not work. The servers were excellent! The sirloin steak was tasty but I could buy and prepare a steak this good at home for 1/3 the cost. The mashed potatoes, mushrooms and spinach were average.

This was our first visit to Ruth Chris. My husband had planned a surprise birthday dinner for me. Everyone else in our party had already arrived and been seated, however once we arrived, they could not find his name or the reservation. The girl finally found it and said, "Oh yes, you're with the big party." I didn't know everyone was there, but once she said that I did, which of course then ruined the surprise my husband had worked so hard for. Once seated our waiter was not every attentive. We had to ask for refills and when he would go to get them it would take him like 10 minutes to get back. He was supposed to bring my husband another glass of wine when our main course arrived, but he forgot and once we were done asked if he wanted it then. Of course, he didn't- we were finished eating then. I could have maybe understood his inattentiveness had the restaurant been packed, but it was not. Waiters rudely kept reaching over us at the table without saying excuse me. My brother in law's steak was not cook correctly. He told our waiter who took it back and came back with it not even a min later. The steak was sizzling as if they dropped it in the fryer or put it in the microwave to quickly cook it a bit longer. My main course plate was not plated well at all. It looked as if they threw the food on the plate and to top it off it was flavorless. I was really expecting more from this place. My husband also told me I was supposed to receive a complimentary dessert which I did not get. For the prices I was expecting a lot more quality and for the food to have a lot more flavor to it. Needless to say, we will not be going back. The price of the meal was not of concern- I don't mind paying for a great meal. But having to wait 10 minutes for another glass of water which should have been your job to refill is ridiculous to me. Don't waste your time or money here.

Not worth the 200-300 bill! The best part of the meal was the bread and salad and that’s not why you go to an expensive steak restaurant. The lobster Mac and cheese $27 came out completely cold and almost seemed watery. Sent it back only for another one to come out the exact same way a few minutes later. The asparagus’s was room temp at best and the dessert (crème brûlée) was ok but had fruit on top that didn’t look very appetizing or fresh. The porterhouse for two was ok but not worth the money in my mind and the overall experience clearly fell short. We like to go to one nice steak restaurant during our vacations and this one was disappointing to say the least!

We had a fabulous dinner at Ruth Chris last week. Our server was very informative and helped us to choose appetizers and side dishes. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Dessert was the bread pudding with whiskey sauce was divine.

My grandson loves Ruth Chris so we went there for dinner and I ordered the ribeye and he ordered the filet mignon. I also ordered the crab meat cocktail that they made for me. The waitress suggested remoulade sauce which Ishedidn’t bring and it had on it some vinegar and some chopped up green and red pepper. Very unusual combination. I ordered the au gratin potatoes and he ordered the mashed potatoes. The au gratin potatoes were not the traditional au gratin potatoes. They were all chopped up and had some orange cheese in them. My steak was cooked perfect and tasted very good. His fillet was under cooked when he got to the center. His mashed potatoes were good. I became ill in the middle of the night. I don’t know if it was too rich food or if the crab was bad. Also the waitress asked me if we were celebrating a special occasion and I said no but I said my birthday is Friday. I received nothing for that. Pricey place for Myrtle Beach. I paid $231 with tip. I ordered a Manhattan and they gave me a maraschino cherry in a place like that. I talk to the manager and he got me luxardo Cherries. My suggestion is when they serve the steaks on that white plate the presentation looks horrible because it’s all splattered all over. They should use maybe a silver platter of some kind that’s metal and all that residue wouldn’t show up so much. Also the plates are very small.

We have visited Ruth's Chris in various locations before so our expectations were high based on previous experiences and this location did not disappoint. Our wait staff was a tag team of a young lady and a young man and I am so sorry I cannot remember their names, however the young lady had on a silver sparkly mask and I thought it matched her personality. They were awesome, attentive enough, but not worrisome. Our food was awesome, steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were great. We both had rib eyes and we had the au gratin potatoes and the brussel sprouts. Both were delicious. Our food was boxed and bagged up for us as expected and we were thanked for dining at the establishment both by the waitstaff and the young ladies at the front when were leaving. We visit this area quite a bit and I will definitely be returning.

We chose to celebrate our anniversary here. We live in the same neighborhood and liked the idea of of being so close to home after a luxurious meal. I was hoping it would be good enough for us to go there regularly. Upon arrival, there were a few small Happy Anniversary scatters on the table; otherwise the table was set as usual. One of the things we ordered was the Cowboy Ribeye, which was cooked Medium Rare as ordered. But, this steak was so tough, it was a struggle to cut it; plus, it was so hard to chew, it hurt my jaw. We complained twice to the manager, who ultimately maintained that their steak is the highest quality, so…here’s the full bill for it. What a slap in the face to be forced to pay roughly $60 for that tough steak! Had it been the top quality they pretended it was, we’d have no problem paying it; that’s why we went there in the first place…for excellent steak. Being treated so unfairly put a huge damper on our anniversary.

The service was as expected, excellent. I ordered the 11 ounce filet Oscar style. The filet was fork tender and cooked perfectly. The table ordered the Creamed Spinach and Roasted Brussel Sprouts. Desert was Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake - Creamy chocolate mousse on an oreo cookie crust topped with whipped cream. Everything was delicious.
