This was our first time eating here.We were celebrating my birthday and valentines day! We loved the complimentary hush puppies. They were sweet and delish. Our appetizer of clams casino was yummy and our entrees of blackened sea food platter, scallop platter and homemade spaghetti and bison meatballs were excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and cool! They also had bottles of wine for half price which was great for me the birthday gal!

Our first visit and it was pretty good. Service was very attentive and good variety on the menu. I liked that there were both baskets and platters on there so you could choose how much you wanted to indulge in the fried seafood! I’ve had better hush puppies at other places but the shrimp was very good, not heavily breaded. Prices seemed quite reasonable which was a nice difference as well!

Russell's is nestled among the trees with a sand parking lot across the street from the water. Up the stairs the inside dining area was generally plain with nice views and the small bar where we sat had the old dark wood with a classic feel we both love. My oyster po boy was perfect with the oysters cooked just right, lightly fried. The apple slaw was good and the grilled asparagus was great and I wish I would have gotten a little more. My wife liked her BBQ sandwich, grilled asparagus and the sweet tea was perfect.

We moved here last July and have been seeking the “locals” restaurants and businesses in Murrells Inlet. We saw Russell’s on our trips to the “Marsh” but didn’t visit until the 4th of July weekend. Boy have we missed out for a year! If you’re looking for fancy atmosphere then Russell’s may not be for you but if you’re looking for some of the best seafood in the inlet and great people like Brittany then look no further than Russell’s! We decided to try it because it didn’t look as crowded as other restaurants on the Marsh Walk but there was still a wait for a dining table so we sat at a high top in the bar where there were lots of windows and we could see the Inlet. They also have outside dining too but it was raining but maybe next time ! Brittany was the bartender and wait person for the high tops too. She was personable, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. She was helpful when we asked her about drinks and the catch of the day! Drinks were wonderful! Hubby had an old fashioned and I had the punch. So so good! They have 1/2 priced appetizers and drinks during happy hour but because of a gf sensitivity we ordered shrimp cocktail which was excellent. Hubby had a shrimp poor boy sandwich which he said was one of the best he had ever had. I had Neptune’s cerchive. I was going to have the catch of the day, yellow fin tuna, but Brittany told me about the Neptune and I was all for it. Ahi tuna on top of cilantro lime rice ringed with shrimp cerchive with two poached lobster claws! Yummmmm! So so good and so much that I has enough for lunch the next day. Plus I wanted to save a little room for dessert…key lime pie with raspberry sauce and whipped cream. Yes I shared with my hubby but you don’t have too! We are so happy that we found Russell’s and thankful for Brittany’s knowledge and helpfulness so we know to make reservations for our next visit a couple of days in advance. We look forward to many lunches and diners there and becoming one of their regulars. Don’t miss this gem in Murrells Inlet!

After exploring Murrells Inlet (and the "Taste of Marshwalk" celebration) for awhile; we stopped here for a late lunch (the lines & crowds at the Marshwalk being too annoying to negotiate for a meal). We're certainly glad we waited, and ate here instead. This facility has an old-school, local hangout ambiance. Our server, Marissa, was friendly, helpful and attentive. The hushpuppy fish (grouper) tacos were wonderful. The taco shells were a very tasty alternative, to the usual fare; and the house cut fries were nicely done. The grilled grouper (catch of the day) was a bit pricey, but definitely an excellent offering (one of the best grouper preparations we've had in many years). The accompanying 2 cheese potato balls & hushpuppys were both quite good (though a couple more potato balls would have been appreciated). The creamy & flavorful Key Lime pie was a truly indulgent ending, to a very enjoyable dining experience. We will certainly consider a return visit, before we end our stay in the area.

Hush puppies were like a crunchy cake with sweet butter and totally addictive. We’ve already discussed doing a hush puppy take out order later in the week. 🤪 We came on a Tuesday and they had special $10 fried baskets. Shrimp (small sized) was great. We ordered it with shoestring french fries and green beans. Family member had linguini alfredo and it was quite good as well and came with garlic bread and a side (salad). They take reservations and I’d make one next time. Interior seating area is pretty small (maybe 12 tables?). We waited about 20 minutes for our table but everyone after us walked in no problem.

A very relaxed ocean restaurant on the inlet. The owner visits at the tables and our waitress was excellent at answering questions and providing great service. The food is locally caught and delicious. You can get smaller basket portions, which are very generous, or the full scale dinner plate. The deviled crab was excellent and so was the shrimp. Quaint and comfortable interior and a full bar.

We decided on Russell's because our recommendation for oysters was closed on Monday. This was an amazing place and the oysters on half shell were on happy hour which made them even more affordable. Our waitress Sabrina was fantastic. If you have a quirky sense of humor she will meet that and continue to have fun. Every thing we ordered was amazing! Highly recommend this place!!

We were fortunate to have seen this place riding through Murrells Inlet during the off season at lunchtime. Rustic interior. Upstairs. Good server and staff. Traditional seafood restaurant. I got a flounder and chips but the piece I got was a bit over cooked. In a flash I was given a perfectly prepared piece when I mentioned it to the server. Got she crab too, good. Good margaritas too. Recommended.

My wife and I loved our lunch here!! We arrived about 12:30 and got a nice table by the window. The interior is decorated with nautical items, old photos, a surfboard, sharks teeth, fishing lures and lots of other interesting seashore treasures. Our waitress, Hanna, took our drink orders and we decided to order the seafood platter for us to share(great choice)!! Our drinks arrived along with hush puppies. The hush puppies were sooo good!! Our salad came out next with the house made blue cheese dressing (delicious) and cole slaw(excellent). Our order arrived a few minutes later and it came with an extra plate, and two each of cocktail sauce and tartar sauce. The fried seafood platter had a large flounder filet, six shrimp, four oysters, two large scallops and a deviled crab. Every item was cooked to perfection and was delicious. Service was excellent, thanks Hannah!!

We have been going to Russell’s for 20+ years. It is one of our favorites. The She Crab Soup is the best! And their complimentary Southern Style Hush Puppies with Honey Butter will have you dreaming about them before you even get back home! Their seafood is so fresh and always on point. We’ve never been disappointed. They have great outdoor seating on their deck and if you’re lucky enough, there is a perfect spot where you can see over to the marsh, and it is beautiful. Russell’s gives you that true laid back local feel that just makes you want to stay.

It’s been quite a few years since we’ve eaten at Russell’s, mainly because there are other restaurants that have always been our favorites for seafood. I’m glad we decided to stop here after looking for a restaurant in Murrell’s Inlet that didn’t appear too busy during the dinner rush. The hush puppies served to all tables had just the right sweetness. Our salads had dressings that tasted freshly-made. The fried shrimp and scallops combo I had was fantastic: fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My wife had the cold boiled shrimp salad and really enjoyed it. To be honest, it was as good a meal as I’ve had at any of my other favorite Murrell’s Inlet restaurants, and we’ll be moving Russell’s to one of our top picks for seafood.

What a pleasant surprise. Having travelled to Murrell’s inlet annually for years well before using Trip Advisor, we found this jewel ranked #2 in MI reviews. The food was the best we had on this trip, and I’d say ranking top 5 meals from MI of ALL times. There are few places along the inlet where we have not eaten. We will continue eating here for years to come. The she crab soup was very good and served hot. There were many lumps of crab meat! We both had the catch of the day: Tile fish. Mine was grilled to perfection and my friend’s was blackened. Both were amazing. We also each added scallops , blackened. Delicious! The hush puppies were really sweet and melted in your mouth. We also got happy hour wine at 3.00 a glass!l and oysters on the half shell for 1.00 each! We cannot wait to return. Shoutout to Tybee, who was an excellent server. Food and drinks were served at the perfect time and she was super friendly even in the midst of a busy shift!

Everything about our dinner was spot on. Blacked flounder, grilled scallops, grilled shrimp, and fried oysters!! The green beans were well seasoned & tasty. The cocktail sauce was properly “horseradished” for my wife & me (those who like the wimpy sweet stuff beware). This was our first visit, but not our last.

It’s such a cool place. Great views and great food. Nothing fancy hutch makes it all the better. Feels like a neighborhood bar with some of the best seafood you can get. Our group had flounder both fried and broiled, grouper, shrimp both fried and broiled. All were excellent. It’s a must hit if you’re in Murrells inlet! Service was spot on also.
