Nice little Mexican restaurant in Mt Pleasant. The salsa was pretty good. I ordered cheese enchiladas with green sauce and they were bland and runny. They were really unpleasant. My husband ordered the burrito and it was different but he enjoyed it. We had frozen...margaritas and they were okayMore

This is our go to spot for proper Mexican. They have great street style tacos, yummy tamales, and delicious margaritas and micheladas! They’re always super friendly and courteous. There’s also so many house specialties that we look forward to trying. My fiancé is obsessed with...the rice and beans lol. We especially enjoy the al pastor, chorizo, and carne asada tacos.More

Our family eats here every week, and all 6 of us LOVE it. The food is amazing, the owners and staff are like family, and it is our favorite place to meet friends as well. Everything we have ever ordered we have loved. Our favorites...are Sergio’s Special and Chilaquilas with chicken and green sauce. Yum! We are also enjoying all of the updates that were made to the restaurant recently.More

We went to Carmen Y Juan's for Valentine's Day; I called it Valenzuela Day and had a very nice time. Most of the food was good to very good, the wait staff was wonderful. The beer was cold and the margarita very nice. The star...of the event was my order of tamales. WoW! I've been waiting for tamales this good for a long time. The best since the ones we got from some hole-in-the-wall cafe behind a gas station in Santa Monica, where you could see the old ladies teaching the young ones how to hand-wrap tamales. Did I mention they are SUPER?! The 'hood has found this place. When my wife and I left at 7:00 the place was full.More

My wife and I have been eyeing this restaurant for a while and we finally took the opportunity to go with my oldest son and his family and my youngest son and his wife. The oldest is a Mexican restaurant lover. We arrived around 5:30...on a Saturday night. Since there was eight of us, we pushed a couple of tables together. We waited for a few minutes before our server arrived. The menu had a lot of choices. The prices seemed average. So, let’s talk about our experience. The restaurant is nice inside. There is outside seating as well. The place was clean. The food- we ordered several different dishes. The general consensus of the 6 adults was the same. The food was good, not great. Nobody thought, wow, this is the best Mexican food I’ve had. The service - our server was very nice and was very playful to the two kids. The service was slow throughout the meal. Our drink glasses were never refilled. We were never offered refills on the chips and salsa. We would have asked for more but we didn’t see him again until the food arrived, We had heard good things about this place which is why we wanted to try it. Our experience was just average due to slow service and average food. We wanted our experience to be better but it just wasn’t.More

While visiting family on Mt. Pleasant, we stopped in at Carmen Y Juan (CYJ). CYJ is located in a office park with lots of free parking. We entered and sat down at the bar. Jenny greeted us, took our drink orders and came right back....We discussed specials and what she would recommend. We ordered tacos and the special burrito (don't remember the name but it's wrapped in bacon and griddled). Since all orders are cooked to order, we talked to Jenny for a few minutes and she was delightful. She gave us some great ideas about places to visit and shared some pics of a light show she had just attended. The food came and it was outstanding. The tacos ingredients were fresh and plentiful - no small portions here! The special burrito was excellent. Who doesn't like food wrapped in bacon. The food is fresh, just prepared and excellent. We highly recommend CYJ and will be back on our next visit. Thanks Jenny! Cheers, L&J Miami BeachMore

I have live in Mt P for a year now and have wanted to go to this place a couple of times but was closed. This time I made it and I am glad I did. The chips were warm and tasted great-the salsa was...fresh and though not as hot as I like it it was perfection. I ordered the Beef Quesadillas that came out hot. Served with rice that was flavorful and light, diced lettuce and tomatoes, sour cream and green chili. I loved it. Service was great. I also loved the 22oz margarita that was only $9. When you go o almost any other Mexican place the drinks are $8 and small. Anyway I only had 1 but lasted the entire meal. I hate to write such a good review as I dont want the place to be packed the next time I go but they certainly deserve to be. Cant wait to return.More

Had dinner here on a weekday and could not be more pleased. Food was excellent, service was very good and very fair price for quantity and quality of food. Decor was nice and owner was onsite and fully engaged. Very gracious staff. I would highly...recommend this restaurant.More

We were looking for casual dining while in Charleston SC to attend a wedding. Found a promising place on line but when we got there it was closed. After another look online found this restaurant close by. I was looking rather scruffy after more than...6 hours on road so I called to ask about dress code. Jenny said come on in. As it turned out she was also our waitress. We shared a delicious "Sergio" burrito, some guacamole and queso with chips. Food and service were both great. Highly recommended.More

I don't work there, but I think you could find vegan choices. They have a Facebook page with a menu, but Trip Advisor will not let me post the link.
