For a light dinner this was just the ticket. Casual food with a Southern flair was so well done. She Crab Soup was mostly crab. Fried Green Tomatoes were crispy-creamy. Smeared with pimento cheese: the best soup and sandwich. Summer was attentive and kind. Deb, the manager, is attentive to all kinds of details — a seamless experience and completely pleasant atmosphere.

Kicked off our beach trip with a brunch at Toast. Courtney was a great waitress and took great care of us. We had previously eaten at the location in downtown Charleston and this continued to reinforce our opinion of Toast being a great restaurant!

This week I enjoyed an amazing meal with some friends at TOAST on the IOP Connector. Marli took great care of us and we loved getting to meet her. The service was outstanding and the food is amazing 👏 Thank you to all of the TOAST employees for showing up day after day and taking such great care of me, my guests, and everyone else that frequents this outstanding restaurant.

Don't even think of eating there. My wife and I went yesterday and decided to leave after observing that servers and cooks were not wearing masks. As we left I told the hostess why we were leaving and she politely asked if I wanted to speak to the manager. I was shocked that he too wasn't wearing a mask. When I explained my concerns he said they were "bulls***". I've never been treated so rudely! DO NOT patronize this restaurant. The don't deserve to be in business.

Remembering my delightful experience at the Downtown location, I was beyond excited when I saw the Toast sign as I was running errands. Everything started out great, personable hostess, nice waitress, but then I watched the outside table not being bussed. It was empty when I arrived. There was already a creamer in the straw and I watched as the coastal breeze start playing with a napkin. I notified the grumpy 2nd hostess who I think grunted at me…wait I take that back, I got no acknowledgement. I told my waitress who said 1. the table had just been vacated— not true—and that 2. the bus boy hadn’t shown up and there were only 3 waitresses working. So.. my waitress bussed the table. Yes, neither of the 2 hostesses could deign to bus a table. Used coffee creamer left outside to litter the town. I asked for my food to go, only to have it show up at my table. My waitress started to ignore me, checking on the table in front and behind me. I can’t tell you how the food was because I was so upset when I ate it. I’ll put in down to edible. The manager came over and I was able to request a refill of coffee and for somebody to pick up their litter. Please look at my review of the Downtown location where the sweet hostess was also my waitress and where the food was fantastic.

My wife and I ate here for the first time last year and the service was atrocious. Some of the food was decent, some of it not so much. We decided to give it another try and support local restaurants. Big mistake. Only one waitress was wearing a mask, and that was it. The cooks, the other waitstaff, the manager, none of them wore a mask at all. Not to mention they were seating people in side-by-side tables. The restaurant was mostly empty, and only two other tables were being used. They sat us directly beside the other two tables, with all 3 tables very close to each other. The rest of the tables were completely empty and not being used. It’s almost as if this restaurant was intentionally trying to get people sick or tick people off. It’s evident they don’t care about their customers whatsoever. As for the food, my wife’s breakfast plate was horrible. I had the special French toast, which was good. But we’ll never be back to this Toast, or any of the other Toast locations either. They’ve lost our business, and I will assume they’ll lose a lot more. If you want to stay healthy, don’t eat here. Don’t even bother with takeout from here either. Give your money to other local restaurants that actually value your business and care about your safety.

We ate brunch here on Thanksgiving Day 2020 and out of the dozen or so employees I saw, only two were wearing a mask. None of the managers were, none of the kitchen staff were, and neither of the two people who brought our food at work. Don't eat here unless you're okay with the lack of masks and guidelines not being followed. We will not return.

One staff member wore a mask. Hostess Megan ate food in restaurant with her fingers and did not wash her hands (then proceeded to bring our food to us). No one in the kitchen wore a mask. I ordered the steak and eggs with my steak Medium rare, and it was barely cooked. Beyond many other things being cooked wrong there was barely any flavor in our food. Then comes the Bill. $50 for steak and eggs, a Philly biscuit sandwich and one mimosa. Will not be coming back.

Overall, the food and service were fine, but if you are all concerned about transmission of COVID-19, I'd suggest you choose another spot. We stopped in for a late breakfast this morning and were dismayed when our server approached our table with her mask down own her chin. She never moved it up to cover her nose and mouth. While we ate, we noticed several other staff members, including the bartender and two other servers, with either no mask or a mask down on the chin. Customers entered and walked through the restaurant to their tables and to the restrooms with no masks.

Food is good but both times we have been there the wait to be seated got messed up and we waited an hour or more. The guys at the hostess stand seemed clueless and acted like it was not a big deal that we asked for inside and they had outside available. The young lady told us she was sorry about the mix up. Our waitress was wonderful though.

Be sure to check your bill as they overcharge. Menu states Bloody Mary’s are $9, was charged $10. Menu also gives the choice of biscuit, toast (white, wheat or rye) or English muffin with their omelette’s but they charge a dollar extra if you choose English Muffin. Not right.

Stopped in for breakfast today with my wife. We were cheerfully greeted by our hostess and seated. Our waitress was a delight. She was friendly efficient and very personable. We both ordered the same food, my wife’s food came out fine, but my eggs that were supposed to be over medium came out runny, raw and an edible. I did eat the bacon prior to eating the eggs. I told our server just to take the plate away I didn’t want more eggs I told her to just take it off our bill. She brought the manager over and the manager said because I had eaten part of my meal she could only take off 50%. I have never been to a restaurant where they take a percentage off of a bad meal. That’s just poor customer service.

My first mistake was eating at Page's Okra Grill the morning before. This place comes in a distant second. In fact I've had better at First Watch. There were similar menu items but presentation was lacking. My wife had the mini crab cake thing with a poached egg and a side of potatoes. It tasted good, what little there was. Lots of potatoes though. I thought I ordered the stuffed French toast, at least that's what I put my finger on when I was ordering. And I ordered coffee. What I got was two small divided pieces of French toast with a blob of sweet butter. For $11.99. That's it. It did taste good. But when it was brought to the table I quickly told my server that it wasn't what I ordered. Either she didn't hear me or chose not to hear me. My no more than 12 oz cup of coffee was really good. But when I asked for a refill, my server once again either didn't hear me or chose not to. Either way I didn't get a refill for my $3.00 cup of coffee. On the other hand, she sure was ready to hop on getting refills for my wife's memosa. Oh, and I also ordered beignets. Don't waste your money. These little hard crusty morsels tasted good but they sure weren't the beignets I expected. I didn't leave happy. That's all.

The experience today was great! The wait for a table was 40 minutes but the bar was open so we sat at the bar and was served by the bartender, Vickie, as if she was our waitress. She got our drinks both ordered and made with expertise, care, and speed. Offered appetizers (beignets) and got our orders placed so we could eat at the bar (everything delicious). All while simultaneously serving other drinks and customers at the bar! She was always moving but simultaneously attentive to all the guests at the bar and orders for drinks around the restaurant. She was interrupted rudely by another staff member who tried to make a show after she told him he’ll need to wait for change and ask him to move from behind the bar as he pushed inward from impatience. He didn’t have his bank and was now rudely getting in her way even after she got him the change he needed, still trying to make a scene in front of customers she was trying to serve. She handled the situation as professionally as possible and didn’t let him ruin her amazing service. She turned what could’ve been a long wait into a great experience!

The staff is so friendly and takes great care of us every time we go. The most recent menu change also added some EXCELLENT options. I'm a huge fan of the Chicken Biscuit with the sweet tea glaze on the breakfast/brunch menu.
