We had heard good things about this place and finally were in the area and stopped in. The menu was written and the oversize dessert displace as you enter was a plus. Sandwiches were below average...we ordered the Raider which is a standard rib-eye steak...sandwich but this rib-eye was 40 percent fat and was a big disappointment...my wife ordered the corsair and it too just wasnt tasty....the own did visit our table, bit because we complained but just to say hello and was extremely nice. Overall we were not pleased but will consider a second visit at a later date.More

Our group had an all day meeting and we had a private room for our meeting of about 50 people. We enjoyed coffee when we arrived and the staff made sure our individual orders were taken for lunch. Our meals were served at the appointed...time and mine was hot and delicious. I ordered the P52 chicken sandwich with fries. It was served hot and was quite tasty. The complex interaction of taking 50 orders and coordination of delivering them while hot and fresh can be a challenge. The staff of this establishment was up to the challenge and they delivered! Next time I am the area with a big group or with family and friends I know I will return.More

My husband and I came here for lunch. We met the owner to learn more about the decor - “every piece has a story.” While the food was decent, we certainly loved the atmosphere and staff. And desserts! We will definitely keep coming back and...try other menu options to find our favorites!More

This was a visit in early June 2020. We have been to Flight Deck many times and previously always enjoyed the food and service. However, we are over 70 and would have felt much safer had the staff been wearing face masks. We were also...concerned with the old menus. We left without ordering because we were not comfortable with the lack of visible evidence of their compliance with SC Restaurant and Lodging Association guidelines.More

As new residents of Lexington from the CT/NYC area my Wife & I are excited to have found The Flight Deck. We have had a few meals together and with our Family at T. F. D. and will continue to go back. Excellent food at...reasonable prices & a very pleasant staff. Ted, the owner, make an extra effort to thank each patron. The Military memorabilia in this rest. is both educational and enjoyable to view. We highly recommend The Flight Deck.More

Another curb-side story with this virus scenario upon us, but order was taken online, paid online, and went to pick it up. Quick service just inside the door - food was ready to go on time and hot. Plenty to eat and it tasted good....Easy parking and friendly staff - and the owner came out from the kitchen and greeted those who were there to pick up orders as well; we appreciated the friendliness in spite of the semi-closed status. (another word about this place - we ended up here because of a story we saw on Facebook - hence the "conscience" in the title: Tim Anderson March 31 at 2:04 PM · Appreciation post: as many of you may know, I am self-employed with my educational business, Attest LLC, and, needless to say, the closing of schools has made life pretty challenging for the past few weeks. What was going to be a great Spring of working with students to help get them into college has now become a matter of just trying to pay the bills and keep food on the table. Essentially, I’m operating in survival mode. As a business owner, one of these bills is the rent I owe on my office space, which is located at the Flight Deck Shopping Center in Lexington, SC. Owing rent on a place that is effectively empty is obviously a huge problem, especially not knowing how long I will not be holding in-person classes. On Sunday, I received a phone call from the owner of the Flight Deck Shopping Center, Ted Strambolitis, who is also the owner of the Flight Deck Restaurant. I have known Ted for about three years now, and he has always treated me right. As I answered his call, I was expecting it to be a “how are you looking over there? Do you think you will be able to pay your rent for April?” Instead, Ted informed me that he had been working with his bank, who owns the mortgage on the Flight Deck Shopping Center, and the bank has agreed to waive his payments (with no interest accumulation) for 60 days on the Flight Deck Shopping Center. Incredibly, he told me that, due to this turn of events, he was passing that on to every tenant in the Flight Deck and WE DO NOT OWE HIM ONE PENNY IN RENT FOR APRIL OR MAY. If this coronavirus mess continues past that, then he said he would return to bank and argue for an extension of the current deal, which he would then pass on to all of us. Guys, I cannot emphasize enough to you how incredible this is. Ted could have very easily received the 60 days no payments/no interest from the bank and continued to charge all of us rent. He had every right to do so, but he didn’t because, to paraphrase his words, “we’re all family here, we’re all in this together, God will get us through this, and let’s just do our best to keep taking things one step at a time.” Not one of his tenants went bankrupt in 2008 (many of the businesses here have been in the Flight Deck Shopping Center for a long time, and they have told me this), and I now see why. This is the quintessential definition of treating people right. What Ted Strambolitis has done here really is generosity at its finest. His restaurant, Flight Deck, is suffering terribly right now, given the closure of all restaurant dining rooms in South Carolina. I know for a fact that he is under great financial strain, and HE STILL DID THIS FOR US. So, if you really are looking to support “one of the good guys” in this world and help a small business, then I encourage all of you to order take-out from The Flight Deck. The food is great, and you are 100% supporting a business worth supporting. In the meantime, let me just say thank God for people like Ted. This is how we will get through these difficult times: TOGETHER.More

We’ve been fans of this restaurant since we moved to Lexington almost 20 year ago. Great arcade for the kids and Greek/American food for every appetite. It can get a little pricey depending on what you order, but the blue plate special is a great...way to save.More

Went with family and the place is really cute inside and inviting. We placed our order and waited over an hour for food to arrive only to find the chicken philly /sweet potato fries I ordered was so hard you couldn't cut it let alone...chew it and the fries were cold. Brother and niece ordered smothered ground sirloin and both were hard as hockey pucks and their sides were also cold. Manager came by and was very apologetic and did offer to recook the whole meal and brought us some cookies while we waited from the bakery which were old and stale (we left them on the table). Wish we would have just paid for the drinks and walked out and went somewhere else as when the reorder came out 20-30 min later it was better but still not good and mine came out 10 min before theirs so I was almost done eating before theirs ever came. He did give a little discount when we paid for the almost 2 hour experience but would have much rather had a good meal without all the problems. Sad part is we weren't the only one's not happy as most the tables around us were also complaining and having problems as well. Clearly there was something going on and unfortunately we were very disappointed and wont be back.More

Daughter took me there while I was visiting. The menu was quite varied and the meals quite inexpensive. I was surprised at all the blue-plate specials under $10. The food was great and more than I could eat. The desserts are fantastic as well and...SO many to choose from! Key lime cheesecake! Also, there’s a LOT of aviation memorabilia throughout the place as the owner is a pilot (and a super nice guy as well). Being a retired pilot w 43 years flying for USAF and commercial, I really enjoyed it all. I’d be eating here once a week at least.More
