My husband and I haven't been to the Boathouse in about 10 years but decided to take an out of town guest there because I remembered the great view. We had a great time. The service was attentive and friendly and the food was amazing. We had the special which was crab cake stuffed flounder. It was cooked to perfection... More

Visiting friends in idle of palms. They suggested the boathouse at the inlet. Great choice, great food, good prices. I don't do seafood, but everyone else did. I got the KC steak-juicy & tender I also has the grits--best grits I ever had. My wife had salmon -- also very good. Friends had grouper and shrimp and both enjoyed This... More

The service was excellent. The view on the patio was excellent unfortunately the food was only average. I had grilled wreckfish which had no flavor at all, the mashed potatoes were good but the blue cheese cole slaw was so salty I couldn't eat it. I could think of a dozen restaurants n Charleston that are better than this.

We enjoyed Conch Fritters, Fried Green Tomatoes and Assorted Fried Seafood as appetizers. I had never had fried green tomatoes - what a treat. The fried seafood was tasty but the conch fritters were OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious. The entrées were a blackened Grouper and blackened Wahoo. They were perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth goodness. The standout side... More

This is a solid standard whenever we visit IOP. Strong menu with good local seafood. Great view and sunsets. Worth the trip.

My fiancé, parents and I stopped here for dinner after I proposed to her on the beach. The food was amazing and our server was very knowledgeable about the local seafood. Apart from some noisy guests sitting around us, we had a great time. It's worth checking out if you are in the area.

My annual beach trip is not complete without dinner at the boathouse covered patio during sunset. We love the view and always look forward to seeing Dolphins swimming. I usually order the lobster tail and crab cake entree. However the crabcake was mostly cake and dry. I was very disappointed! Did you change the recipe?

We had dinner here after it was recommended by our hotel - it was good not great. We went when it was already dark out, so we didn't get to see the gorgeous sunsets and we were inside at a table pretty close to others. Our server wasn't very kind and he was slow, giving us little attention. In addition,... More
