We made reservations weeks in advance and were very much looking forward to eating at Frankie Bones while on vacation based on the reviews and recommendations we received prior to our trip. We had a 5:15 early dinner reservation for a party of five (4...adults and 1 child). When we arrived at the restaurant, the place was empty, only one other table was seated. The bar area was full and lively for happy hour, but the sit-down portion of the restaurant was empty. We waited about 5 minutes at the hostess stand and then were led to the worst table in the entire place. The large booth was at the end of the bar where staff pick up bar drinks, refill drinks, and enter orders and also right at the open kitchen door where servers pick up orders and talk (yell) to kitchen staff. It was unbelievably noisy. We could hear kitchen noise and bar noise and I felt like we were crammed into the worst booth in the place. I asked the hostess if it was possible to move because of the noise and because of all the available tables and she said that it couldn't be done because all the other tables were reserved... again, we were only the second table in the restaurant so far that evening. I decided just to deal with it and not let it ruin the evening. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered drinks and several appetizers including the meatballs and escargot and they were very good. My husband had the prime rib for dinner and shared it with our 7-year old and they raved about the meal. I had the chicken parmesan and it wasn't great. The chicken was dry and the sauce was very heavy. My parents both very much enjoyed their veal pasta dishes. I think I just ordered wrong. We had the cheesecake and the carrot cake for dessert and they were very tasty. All in all the dinner was enjoyable, we just got off on the wrong foot with the table seating and I will admit the restaurant was fully packed by 6:00 and people were waiting in line. Based on the food opinions of my husband and parents, we will probably visit Frankie Bones again when we are on the island.More

We had reservations so didn’t have to wait which was great with three little ones. Our food was excellent - salmon, filet, and lobster tail and the kids liked the spaghetti and meatball. Our server was efficient and friendly. Only minor complaint is the sweet...tea wasn’t very sweet at all (I was looking forward to a good southern sweet tea). Definitely a good place for a date!More

WE live in HIlton Head Plantation, and frequent Frankie Bones on Hilton Head. The restaurant has been quite busy as of late, and we have not been there in a couple of months. This last Sunday evening, we were finally able to secure a couple...of seats at the bar. Lisa C NOT only remembered our names, but our drinks, food preferences, everything. The place was packed, and I have NO idea how she was so calm, and so gracious. A TRUE professional, and loves what she does!More

I took my elderly father and his wife. The first hostess was extremely rude to him for no reason. Later, he stood to clear his throat while choking. A 2nd hostess told him to get out of the way and practically knocked him over. She...was carrying nothing, and there was no fire. The food was tepid. My father lives in HHI, and I have been visiting him for 30 years. I will never go to Frankie Bones again and will never recommend it to anyone.More

A must for a traditional low country brunch. My family and I always make Frankie Bones our Sunday brunch stop during our trips to HH. I generally go with that day’s special and a Bloody Mary, but my boys love the stuffed French toast. This...places is top notch.More

On vacation, we had a great experience at Frankie Bones last year so we went back this year. Again, an excellent meal and dining experience. I had the spinach salad and creamy onion soup and my husband had the 8 oz filet and Caesar salad....I think we ate 2 baskets of their warm bread with butter…yumm! We will continue to dine at Frankie Bones when visiting Hilton Head!More

Definitely make a reservation. Our water was very good and engaging. Nice menu with many options. Full bar. Food came promptly and portions were fair. The calamari appetizer was very good. We had a variety of salads for dinner and all were good. Thought the...price was very fair. Would go back if in town.More

This was our first and last visit to Frankie Bones. We have been to other touristy restaurants but this place cannot handle the crowds. The service was painfully slow. If the food was delicious you wouldn’t mind. However, the food is only fair. Spend your...dollars elsewhere.More

Dave is The Man! Dave Is the bar tender here. We were an hour and one half early for our 8:30 reservation. We went to the bar to settle in for a long wait. A coupe vacated their bar stools just as we arrived. Dave...greeted us and when we asked if we could get an appetizer to go with our drinks he said we could order from the full menu. We had the diet and the prime rib with wedge salads. Dave got our order out quickly, got our drinks and everything else out cooked perfectly and we were two sheets to the wind and stuffed perfectly and out the door before our reservation time. Great job Dave!More
