Frankie Bones in Hilton Head garners a mix of reactions regarding its culinary fare, with some guests commending specific dishes while others point to occasional letdowns in warmth and preparation. The ambiance, however, is widely celebrated as cozy and inviting, contributing to the restaurant’s vibrant charm. While the majority of patrons consider the pricing fair, perceptions of value do seem to fluctuate. As for the service, it's typically lauded for its friendliness and attentiveness, although a few patrons have encountered inconsistencies.

Think of Hollywood in the 1960’s, the glamor, the star studded events. This is Frankie Bones. This place had so much history on the walls, you think you were living the moments. We got there for early dining which consists of a cup of soup, Caesar salad or house salad and one entree. There are two columns of entrees, either $16 or $18. They also have wine by the glass - Chardonnay, Merlot or Cabernet, $3 for a 6 ounce glass or $4 for a 8.25 ounce glass. For $18 I started with the Caesar salad and then moved to the seafood spaghetti. Both were delicious. The spaghetti comes with shrimp, bay scallops and clams with your choice of sauce, I opted for the Parmesan cream. My wife got the Caesar salad also but with the chicken parmigiana for $16. The table bread was also amazing. We ate everything in front of us and left extremely uncomfortable but I think thats also a good thing. The food is great. The service is great. Check this place out.

We visited Frankie Bones for dinner at 4:30 because there were no other available times until 9:00. This is a popular spot. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and my husband had the pork chop special. I have had this dish before and it is good and always the same. It was especially good this time because it was on the early dining menu served with salad or soup for $17. My husband enjoyed a night’s special. He usually orders the pork schnitzel. The menu is varied and meets needs of all. Early dining and evening specials make each visit a somewhat new experience. Our waiter was excellent. Don gave us information, answered questions, and checked back with us in timely manner. It was a great evening!!

Our extended family has been dining at Frankie Bones for years and we come for the shrimp. The recipe has changed and we were very disappointed in how heavily breaded our shrimp was this evening....what happened? As usual, the service was wonderful. Mark was our server and he did an excellent job of accommodating us. Please bring back your lightly dusted cornmeal breaded shrimp!

Food was what you'd expect from how much it costs. The bread was amazing, possibly the best I've had from a restaurant before. We went around 8 and while we were seated by 815 we weren't served until after 915. Not really the staffs fault they were busy but we didn't really see a server from ~845 until our food showed up and then we didn't see anybody again until we asked for the check. I would go again and recommend trying it if your in the area but it's not a place I'd go more than once a trip

We made reservations weeks in advance and were very much looking forward to eating at Frankie Bones while on vacation based on the reviews and recommendations we received prior to our trip. We had a 5:15 early dinner reservation for a party of five (4 adults and 1 child). When we arrived at the restaurant, the place was empty, only one other table was seated. The bar area was full and lively for happy hour, but the sit-down portion of the restaurant was empty. We waited about 5 minutes at the hostess stand and then were led to the worst table in the entire place. The large booth was at the end of the bar where staff pick up bar drinks, refill drinks, and enter orders and also right at the open kitchen door where servers pick up orders and talk (yell) to kitchen staff. It was unbelievably noisy. We could hear kitchen noise and bar noise and I felt like we were crammed into the worst booth in the place. I asked the hostess if it was possible to move because of the noise and because of all the available tables and she said that it couldn't be done because all the other tables were reserved... again, we were only the second table in the restaurant so far that evening. I decided just to deal with it and not let it ruin the evening. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered drinks and several appetizers including the meatballs and escargot and they were very good. My husband had the prime rib for dinner and shared it with our 7-year old and they raved about the meal. I had the chicken parmesan and it wasn't great. The chicken was dry and the sauce was very heavy. My parents both very much enjoyed their veal pasta dishes. I think I just ordered wrong. We had the cheesecake and the carrot cake for dessert and they were very tasty. All in all the dinner was enjoyable, we just got off on the wrong foot with the table seating and I will admit the restaurant was fully packed by 6:00 and people were waiting in line. Based on the food opinions of my husband and parents, we will probably visit Frankie Bones again when we are on the island.

Was really looking forward to trying this restaurant, but was just so, so - must have been on an off day. Small issues, but they started to add up. Husband had to request three different beers off of menu before picking one that was actually available. Asked about flavored iced tea before looking at menu, but was told they didn't have any, only to look at menu and see Peach and Raspberry Flavored Ice Tea being offered. Asked if I could get the Fried Pecan Chicken Salad and substitute a different green for the kale - was told I could get Spring Mix instead. But salad arrived WITH kale, but no apples, grapes or cheese. Went ahead and ate it since chicken was barely warm and didn't want it to get even cooler if exchanged, and husband had his meal. No offer to refill soft drink or water, so finally had to ask. Husband's Cod sandwich was very good. I am not that picky, but was disappointed as the list of 'misses' grew.

Frankie Bones has become one of our favorite restaurants in Hilton Head during our annual visit. We enjoy the variety of menu selections and how the meals are prepared. During our recent visit, we enjoyed the cannelloni, rainbow trout and the schnitzel. We were served by JoAnne and really enjoyed how she was helpful with answering questions about the menu and she was very attentive during our entire visit. We will definitely continue to come back to Frankie Bones!!!

We have been to Frankie Bones many times, and it never disappoints. My husband and I had the Salmon and Goat Cheese salad, and they were wonderful. It was restaurant week and they had great specials, but we restrained and found a delicious option that stuck to our diet. They have a big menu and are always willing to make adjustments for your dietary needs.

Our table ordered the cheesy garlic bread appetizer, garden salad, an 8” pepperoni pizza, fettuccini alfredo, salmon, eggplant parmesan, a slice of the big chocolate cake, and a slice of the peach cheesecake (the special— A MUST). It was all absolutely delicious. All hosts and servers were wearing masks and practicing appropriate social distancing. Service was quick and portion sizes are generous. All in all, this was a great experience. We will be back.

Waited all year to return to this restaurant even though no Covid protocols except table wipe down. WItress overwhelmed. Ask for our Wedge to be chopped after being served. She looked startled as if she had no idea what we were asking and then turned around, walked off and made no response. Wedge return was hacked not chopped with little to no bacon. Just a blob of lettuce laying in dressing. Escargot fair but needs more bread. Bread not particularly good. Salmon serving was small but fettuccine with blackened chicken was very good and ample serving. Bad news on the NY strip. As soon as they served this skinny serving of meat I knew it would be over cooked. Sure enough nowhere near medium rare. I wouldn’t t buy a steak this thin at a grocery. Sent it back for another 15 minute wait. By then having dinner with my group was pretty much ruined. 2nd steak slightly thicker and rare to medium rare. Ok taste certainly not worth the price. We had to ask for another cocktail because served never came back to check with us. Never offered to comp a dessert for all the convenience. Never apologized. An unsatisfying evening.

We were visiting our family at HHI, and they brought us here for brunch and we are so glad they did!. The portions were generous and the vegetable quiche was tall, fluffy, and full of vegetables! Everything was delicious. The price of Bloody Mary's and Mimosa's are such a deal! Friendly, efficient server. We ate outside and it was a bit warm, but they had big fans blowing on us which helped. The servers all had masks on and we felt very safe "eating out." My cousin says reservations are needed a week in advance. The corned beef hash was tender and spiced just right. There are lots of specials and plenty of choices!

Frankie Bones exceeded our expectations for our small wedding reception of 30 people. The general manager Phil was easy to work with and checked on us several times during our event. The two servers who worked our room did a fantastic job and were super efficient and spot on. The food according to all who attended was the best wedding food they ever had. It was fresh and came out in a timely manner even though we had a diverse menu. The bride requested a special dish that wasn’t on the wedding menu and they came through. Perfect in every way.

Absolutely great dinner!!! My wife took me for my birthday; we had reservations so we were sat immediately even though the restaurant was full. The service was quick, I expected the food to take a while because of how busy they were but the food came out really quickly. The food was amazing!!!

Wife and I both ordered steaks, I got the Frankies Ribeye, it was outstanding. Perfectly cooked to med-rare and had nice char on it. Wife's steak was also perfect, she ordered the NY Strip. Side of potato casserole was very good. Service was was on top with 2 servers meeting our every need. We were happy we could walk up on a Friday night and get seated right away. We were also lucky that our table was somewhat isolated. I would not have wanted to be seated in the bar area, loud, compact and crowded. Felt unsafe (covid) walking through that area to go to the bathroom! Their menu is very large, which usually concerns me, but the steaks were above average, tasty and cooked perfectly.
