Alexander’s is EXCELLENT! Best dinner spot in Hilton Head. Incredible food and ambiance (request the patio!) Christine was our waitress and she was very sweet and attentive!

We weren’t able to get a later reservation but that was to our advantage. The early bird menu is outstanding with the BEST low country soup and the shrimp and grits where on a lovely pimento cheese grit. All for a great price! The fish...feature was the best preparation of tile fish imaginable. A great seafood stew was the base for the tile fish. That dark rich stew would make anything taste amazing. I can’t leave out the most refreshing coconut mojito drink. All in all fantastic but wish we had this restaurant in the Midwest!More
What a special way to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary! Excellent food...outstanding service from our server, Donna....friendliness by all. We can't wait to come back to Alexander's when we visit Hilton Head again. It definitely is at the top of the list of restaurants to...enjoy in the area.More
We have been to Alexander’s many times and the food and service is always excellent. Tonight was a bit different, food was great and service was quirky at best. We arrived 15 minutes early, 7 pm reservation, and were told to wait at the bar...or inside/outside as they were seating the 6:45 people. So, we went to the bar. We arrived 10-15 minutes early in the past and were not told to wait at the bar or stand around waiting for a table. What’s changed folks? At exactly 7 pm the bartender told us our table was ready and we could sit down ‘whenever we were ready.’ Won’t that screw up your exact 7 and 7:15 seating if we decide to wait 10 minutes? We sat down and Michele was our server. She brought us water and bread and then walked away and waited on 2 other tables that were seated AFTER us. About 5-10 minutes later, after taking drink and appetizer orders from the other 2 tables she whirled around and realized she forgot about us. She said, ‘ the bar keeps sending people over’ and then took our order. We had the fritto misto appetizer, Wiener schnitzel, and fish special which were all great, nicely presented, and hot. Unfortunately, Michele was not very attentive so when she saw we needed a to go box we also asked for the check. So, I am being nice by saying service was quirky, it was not good.More
Four of us enjoyed our dinner here. I had the pan seared halibut. I did change the sides to mashed potatoes and asparagus. The fish was perfectly cooked and had a nice sauce on it. Another had crab cakes and they were good. They have...a nice wine list. Our server ( a wonderful lady from South Africa) was attentive and did a great job.More
Our family was gifted an Alexander’s gift card for Christmas and what a fabulous gift it was! We had never been but it was always on the top of our list. The only thing better than the food was the service! The manager Gregg was...a true professional and we had a lovely time with our server Angela from South Africa. The Brunch spread was perfect for all ages. We even had to place supplemental orders for some picky kids and the team at Alexander’s did it with a smile. We cannot wait to be back!More
The food was very good and our server Christine was friendly, courteous and helpful with menu choices and wine suggestions!
We love Alexander’s! More of an “old school”Hilton Head restaurant than nouveau cuisine but a good, well rounded menu with something for everyone which we appreciate. Delicious beet, mandarin oranges, feta, pecans and melon salad last night with a nice light Champagne vinaigrette dressing for...a starter. My wife and I both chose the filet which was grilled perfectly medium rare with scrumptious sautéed mushrooms and real mashed potatoes and a simple sauce. Delicious! A nice glass of Cabernet and we were happy campers. The hostess had no problem with our early arrival and was very courteous in getting us promptly seated on the back porch overlooking the water and Christine provided us with excellent service, attentive but not fussy or obtrusive. Very much appreciated. Relaxing atmosphere, beautiful location and scenery with great food and service.More
Dined here with family when in town for Spring Break. Although not rowdies, the service was very slow and the food was mediocre at best. The fish (both my Snapper and my husband’s Halibut were luke warm and did not taste fresh. Giving two stars...because my daughter said her Filet was very good. There are so many better options when dining on Hilton Head, so we probably won’t be back.More

Very inattentive and slow service with no explanation offered. Food was mediocre; at best. I observed two tables that were seated after us receive their main course after 45 minutes before we were even served our first course. The 3 course menu was a fixed...due to the Easter holiday so really no excuse for delay. Server reached across the table when delivering food or pouring drinks and was sloppy. Manager checked in after food was finally served (despite her many trips past our empty table and frequent check-ins with the tables around us) but was brief and offered no explanation. I observed how both the server and Manager were attentive to the tables around us but did not regard us the same. I will not return. The only reason I am awarding 2 stars is because my husband said the soup was good and the guest who was with us stated that he was impressed by the large portion he received and found it to be fairly good. I watched as the server prepared and bagged up the take home container for the other table but simply placed an empty to-go container on our table and walked away. I really can’t imagine why the service was on-point for others but not for us and I did not ask. I simply paid my bill with a 20% tip which was not deserved and will not return.More

We attended the Rombauer wine dinner on March 23. Generally, the wines were thoughtfully matched to the dish. (We did question a Zinfindel with chicken?) Having two reps for the winery present to speak about the wines was impressive. Alexander's provides a 3-ounce pour per...course, so be sure to save your wine until the course is served. Price includes tax and tip.More
We had another great wine dinner featuring Rombauer wines and Chef Kevin Yeung out did himself with his content and presentations! One of the best wine dinners we have been to this winter here on HHI, and we've been to 10! We'll be coming back...in December when we return for the winter 23/24.More
This was a top notch experience. Not only was the food great, but the portions were generous at very fair prices. Our server was Angela - her great nature and smile were infectious. Not only was she an excellent server, but she was so upbeat,...everything you would want in a server. So zero complaints about food, prices or service. I strongly recommend going here for an upscale experience - and ask for Angela as your server!More
Once again we had a delightful meal at Alexander’s! The service was warm and inviting and the food was first rate. I live on HHI and it is one of my favorites because it is consistently very good. Charming setting and great atmosphere. We all...left full and happy. Hope you get to enjoy this locals’ long time favorite!More
After 30+ years of going by this restaurant we decided to go! The dress code has stopped us in the past but it's very easy to comply. We went at early dining 5-545. Good choice! The dishes were a bit smaller and slightly cheaper. Seating...was on what used to be the deck overlooking the lagoon. It's now closed in and had a vintage distressed look. I had veal parmigiana which was delicious and hubby had parmesan crusted baked cod which he loved. The long island iced tea was perfect. We were satisfied so didn't try dessert although the choices were good. We will definitely be back! Btw it was an easy walk from Villamare.More
