We recently ate lunch here with friends, and it was delicious. There is a large choice in entrees, and a huge choice in sides. I also bought some of their pimiento and cheese to take home, and it is so tasty and creamy-- love it!...The place is a bit out of the way, but it is definitely worth the effort.More

The meat and three at Roy’s Place is the best deal in Town and you have probably only heard of his great catering! This is not fancy and the regulars are grizzled old guys but all friendly like Cheers! Had the grilled pork chops, collards,...field peas and stewed okra and tomatoes. Then off to the movie next door.More

I was looking for a southern cooking diner closer than Cahill's. A friend told me about Roy's. The good is it was a laid-back kind of a place with a wonderful front lady named Izzy. The vegetables were okay did not compare to my high...standards of southern cooking, sorry. If I think I am eating canned vegetables I get nervous. At the bar there were guys who were eccentric and funny which almost made the trip worthwhile. I didn't eat any meat this time because there are plenty of Yankee places to go for meat on this island. One very bad thing is this self-described southern eatery uses sugar in their cornbread. Not many people know that the true cause of the civil war was Yankees putting sugar in cornbread rendering it a pastry. My wife makes the best cornbread on the island. I also don't understand how you serve corn without making it creamed corn or corn on the cob. Not a complaint just an observation. Izzy declared that when they took the sugar out their customers complained. That would make them Damn Yankees, as in Yankees who don't know that i-95 runs north as well as South! Bless their hearts. A vegetable lunch doesn't have to be perfect, so I would say Roy's is that good place to catch some veggies on Hilton Head Island. Bless their hearts.More

We had read online reviews for Roy's and this place did not disappoint. So many choices and huge portions...plan on taking some home. They're only open at the lunch hour, so eat a small breakfast and plan to stay awhile.

Great spot, food is great and the staff is even better. Don’t let the limited hours keep you away. The have meat and 3 side plates, wraps, salads, and sandwiches. I will make it back.

Roy is a HHI legend! After running some of the most successful restaurants on HHI, Roy Prescott uses Roy's Place as a front for his catering business. Only open for lunch, you will often find Roy and his friends in the restaurant. Visitors are welcome......and will soon become friends. Make sure to ask for opinions about other places to eat and things to do on HHI!More

For the Saturday night dinner for our family reunion, we chose Roy's Place. The restaurant is normally closed on Saturday night , but for our reunion dinner for about 40 people, Roy let us use his restaurant. It couldn't have been more perfect. The venue...was just the right size for our group. The buffet dinner was outstanding. It included a couple of appetizers, two entrees - a low-country boil and pulled pork with BBQ sauce on the side. plus some vegetables, bread and dessert. It was delicious. I did not hear a single complaint -,only compliments. The staff that served us was excellent. I cannot recommend Roy's Place highly enough.More

Frankly, I don't know how they do it for the price they charge? Tons of food for an extremely low price. We love our server too.

Good luncheon menu. It is popular with locals and tradesmen. Does a good job on meat and three. Both of our meals were good.
