With waterfront views, a fire/oyster-roasting pit and activities such as bocce, corn hole and live entertainment, Fishcamp is a place where everyone can have some backyard-style fun while enjoying delicious seafood, steaks and sunsets. 2nd night on Hilton Head

Had supper at Fish Camp Saturday night and it was great. We had made a reservation for 5:15 and we arrived about 10 minutes early and were immediately seated. Allison was our server and she was excellent. We asked about menu items and she had a thorough knowledge of her menu. My wife ordered Crab Cakes and I had the Grouper. Both were excellent. We both had Key Lime pie for dessert which Allison recommended. It was good but not as good as my wife’s

Fish Camp on Broad Creek is an exceptional dining destination that delivers a memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere captured a perfect blend of casual elegance with a lively, welcoming vibe. The waterfront view and beautifully landscaped setting added an extra layer of charm, making it an ideal spot for a delightful evening. The wait staff impressed us with their prompt, courteous, and professional service. Their attentiveness made the evening flow smoothly, enhancing our overall enjoyment. Now, onto the food—simply outstanding! I ordered the shrimp and grits, and without hesitation, I can say it was the best I’ve ever had. Creamy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, it’s a dish I’ll be talking about for a long time. My wife chose the salmon with rice, and while I didn’t try it, she raved about it enough that I’d gladly order it for myself next time. However, a couple of minor aspects kept this experience from being absolutely perfect. The noise level was notably high, which, while consistent with a lively fish camp atmosphere, made intimate conversation challenging. I found myself leaning in to speak with my wife, which detracted from the relaxed vibe. Additionally, some of the tables in our section were tightly packed, leading to occasional bumping and a need to be self-aware of our space. Despite these small inconveniences, Fish Camp on Broad Creek is a must-visit if you’re in Hilton Head. Its exceptional food, stellar service, and beautiful setting more than make up for the minor challenges. I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars but look forward to returning and seeing if it earns that fifth star next time!

Food, atmosphere, & our waitress was great. Prices could be better for sure, but in today’s economy this is true in most restaurants unfortunately. Party of 4; 2 - appetizers, 4 - entrees, 1 - dessert, 2 - mixed drinks, along with 2 - water’s was $312 w/ tip included. Honestly couldn’t ask for a better waitress, she was amazing; & food was great as well.

Disappointed by Declining Service and Food

I have been a regular visitor to Fish Camp for over 15 years, but unfortunately, my recent experience left much to be desired. The service, in particular, was disappointing. The hostesses seemed more interested in socializing at the podium and using their cell phones than attending to guests. While our server was generally adequate, when asked to describe a type of fish on the menu, she was unable to provide a clear explanation of its taste and texture. I understand that this is not a five-star establishment, but basic knowledge of the menu should be expected. Given the variety of finer dining options available on the island, we will likely explore other restaurants in the future.

Did Not Meet Expectations

It is pretty hard to mix up a two person lunch order when specific instructions were given as to what should be served first. Our waiter was in training but his trainer needed the training. The person who brough out our food quickly remedied the situation although we had everything at once. The lobster bisque was pale in color and the bits of lobster seemed not to be real lobster. A beautiful setting with a major construction of a boat ramp taking place with significant sound effects.

Once inside, a good dining experience...

Second visit to the Fish Camp and it did not disappoint! It was a in the midst of a server thunderstorm and downpour when we arrived at the Fish Camp which almost made it impossible to get in due to the standing water in front of their entrance! Some potential guests pulled up hoping to go in and enjoy dinner, but after assessing what they had to wade through to get inside they left. We were determined so we rolled up our pants and my wife removed her shoes to wade in for dinner. As with our first visit dinner and service did not disappoint. We enjoyed Lobster Bisque and Jalapeno Hush Puppies as appetizers, followed a Seafood Pasta and a Seafood risotto. All were delicious and would recommend to others. Our server was Addison who did a very good job.

Expensive for what you get and disappointing what has happened to one of our favorite eateries on the island

The food was great. The portion size of the fish in the dish and chips plate was pitifully small. About half again as large would be what I would expect. We had turtle cheesecake for dessert that was in a word ....terrible. It had no resemblance to any cheesecake in texture or taste I have ever had. It was less than 1 inch in height and the consistency of a semi solid pumpkin pie. The flavor tasted stale and unpalatable. Two of the staff were positioned at the entrance both on their cell phones for the entire time we arrived. They were texting and comparing texts or some other items on the phone. Service took much longer to arrive at our table to take the drink order, I would approximate at least 10 minutes. Considering the place was largely empty, this should not have been the case. To top it all off, there was no soap or toilet tissue in the rest rooms. We have eaten there quite a few times. It seems to have gone downhill since our last visit. I doubt we will return in the future. .

Evening Dinner

Crowded, but expected during the Spring Break timeframe. Got a table on Google reserve a table. Got a drink from the bar and enjoyed the views until table was ready. Sat outside. Server was nice. Jalapeño hush puppies were highly disappointing, couldn’t even taste the peppers. The fried catch net of flounder, oysters, and shrimp was a very generous portion and was a great meal. Great setting on the marsh.

Halibut special was Fabulous. Outdoor area with guitar looked amazing, but we had a group of 12 and were indoors. It looked like only one server for everyone indoors and we got worried but she did a Fantastic job! We ordered 6 appetizers and one was missed, but she made sure we got it with great humor.

Terrible tasting water-Will not return

In our many travels we have never had water that tasted as bad as the water at this restaurant. We had to order bottled water. The restaurant obviously needs a water filtration system but then it wouldn’t be necessary for customers to pay for bottled water. When we mentioned how bad the water tasted to the waitress she laughed and said they hear that often. The hush puppies were tough and tasteless. With the food being less than average there is no reason to ever go back.

Atmosphere is great, Service left a lot to be desired.

Hostess were not rude but not friendly. The server’s personality left a lot to be desired. My son ordered what he thought were steamed oysters but they were not steamed. We asked the server if they could warm them for him and she said it would take a long time (???) and she wasn’t trying to remedy the situation at all. So $24 down the drain. Drinks are the same price for adults and small children. $3.50 each. The atmosphere is 10/10. The waitress and hostess 5/10.

Noisey, crowded, Long wait

After an hour and a half wait in October (slow season) the outdoor dining atmosphere on beautiful Broad Creek was ruined by noise and overcrowding. After all the hassle the fried shrimp was only average and they didn't even provide complimentary hush puppies. Some "fishcamp!" Covid policy was completely ignored. They tried to seat us within 4 or 5 feet of an overcrowded bar, but relented when I complained.

Perfect outdoor ambiance and delicious food!

We loved this place! We decided to go spur of the moment on a Tuesday evening. The first reservation was inside at 9PM which we booked. We went at seven to be placed on outside dining waitlist and listened to live music while looking at the beautiful view! We were seated before 7:30 this particular night. I know that is not how it always works and waits can be long but worth it. We ordered fried green tomatoes( amazing), mussels in sauce and delicious jalapeño hush puppies with sweet butter. My daughters had a raw oyster each since they were feeling brave and hadn’t eaten one. My daughter’s ordered the low country crab boil which they loved except the potatoes could have been softer, my husband loved his fried sampler with flounder shrimp and oysters fried and slaw. I ordered the seafood pasta which, with a bit of salt, was one of the best foods I’ve ordered at a restaurant! So good and rich and packed with seafood. We spent two hours dining, talking, and laughing around our table! Thank you Fishcamp for a memorable evening!

Fantastic food, atmosphere, and views.

We love to eat at Fishcamp, it's a tradition every time we vacation in HHI. The food was excellent and is consistently good. We've tried just about everything on the menu. The atmosphere is laid back and fun, the music is great at night and the view is relaxing. Outside seating is the best. The reason for 3 stars today is due to our server, sadly. She had an attitude as soon as we explained that our beer was warm. Instead of suggesting an alternative, she brought us back the same beer in a can that tasted warm as well. We drank it because we didn't want her attitude again; however, she continued to be inhospitable even when we were paying our combined over $300 tab. Since this is the only time we've ever had a rude server at Fishcamp, we'll go back to eat there again but we hope to get nicer service next time.

Hostess’s not friendly, but food n views were good!

Made reservation, apparently only for indoor seating. Hostess’s were rude and told me I would have 30 minute wait for outside and as temps cooled, I wouldn’t be able to change to indoor. Ended up making right call to dine outside. Heaters were well spaced at table. We walked out on boardwalk and got seated within 15 minutes… We had raw oysters, crab cakes, and grouper. All very good, esp grouper. Risotto good side option as well. Great views and sunset. Do not listen to hostess and sit outside!
