Enjoyed a wonderful meal here. Swordfish special and Daufuskie Grouper. Both amazing dishes. Fresh, and well presented. Delicious!

Jonathan was our waiter and gave exceptional service! He kept us laughing throughout the night. Our food was great. We had prime burgers & blackened mahi mahi. The scallops were good but would probably choose the mahi mahi next time. They had a special of...banana creme pudding and that was just ok. We will be back just to see Jonathan! He made the total experience awesome!More

The Black Marlin is at Palmetto Bay Marina, away from the more commercialized areas of Hilton Head Island. Can be tricky to find off of route 278. There are 3-4 restaurants and a few shops clustered together - we only tried the Black Marlin. Plenty...of tables inside and outside, but views of marina are limited. Very large menu including combination specials on weekday lunches or for early dinners. Our food was tasty and enjoyable, though portions a bit small. Server was extremely attentive and friendly. Prices reasonable. Casual.More

We love coming to Hilton Head Island to visit and enjoy eating out each night. Many fine resturants, but the Black Marlin was best on our visit. For starters we tried their Voodoo Shrimp wrapped in bacon. Excellent! For dinner my wife had Jumbo Stuffed...Shrimp stuffed with crab, scallops and shrimp in a lobster butter. I ended up trying the Grouper Daufuskie fixed with crab, spinch and grits in a lemon type of sauce. Both meals were superb. Will return again next year.More

The Black Marlin restaurant is a popular place, so reservations are usually needed during warm weather periods. Our server, Cooper, was very knowledgeable about menu items and how they are prepared by the chef. We had 2 glasses of Rose and ordered the Dafuskie Grouper,...which is on top of Parmesan grits and spinach. The grouper was moist-cooked perfectly. I liked the spinach but I’m not a grits fan, but my wife liked it. For desert we ordered the caramel brownie with ice cream…..SO GOOD! The meal was moderately priced at about $34 for the grouper.More

We had a really nice dinner here and enjoyed sitting outside. The food was delicious, portions were good and prices were what we expected (around $30/meal). It's not a fancy place but it is nice. Staff were friendly and service was good. We ate here...a few years ago and were happy to see the Black Marlin is still as great place for dinner.More

We went there because it was opening day for CFB but did not want a typical sports bar. The reviews for the food looked good, it had water views and live entertainment. I got the crab cakes and they were horrible, They were mostly breading...- you could hardly taste any crab. The baked potato was hard and cold and the mixed vegetables might have been okay but they cold. Our server was excellent. The entertainment and views delivered. Just very disappointed in the food.More

My sister and I went to The Black Marlin for dinner this evening. We are only on Hilton Head Island for three days and this was the second restaurant we had dinner. We had Grouper Daufuskie and I had swordfish Daufuskie - what a treat....The main reason we both ended up with the Daufuskie was becasue our waitress, Jessica, did such a great job of describing what the Daufuskie was. Believe me, we were NOT disappointed with the meal. As we were nearing the end of the meal, my sister turned to me and said - this is a 10+ dinner and I totally agreed. BTW - Jessica was not only did a good job with the description of the Daufuskie but she was entertaining as well as cheery!More

We have been coming to hilton head for years and missed this gem. We had a party of 7 on the patio under a spectacular Grove of oak trees overlooking the water. Our waiter Zane was awesome and the seafood was great. We had swordfish,...grouper, Mahi Mahi, cod, founder, and chicken salad. Everyone had a great meal and my swordfish was delicious.More

This business is the only restaurant we ate at on vacation that took reservations. We arrived early and were seated promptly. We sat outside. Kind of an obscure water front view. Don’t let that stop you. The food was very good. Service was great. Waitress...was extremely nice. We actually went back the next day to have a drink at there Hurricane bar. Great young bartenderMore

We went to this restaurant for the first time and it was great. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. It had a vast menu for fish and seafood lovers. There are also a few meat and chicken dishes. We all enjoyed our meals- Large...portions, everything tasted great and fresh. They have a large gluten free menu. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.More

My family ate dinner here during our recent HHI trip and found our overall experience to be more than adequate. The menu is varied (the chowder is very good!) and even our teens found something they liked. The setting is different in that the while...the outdoor area is "steps from the water", it is not really waterfront - more like a short walk to the water (100-200 feet). There are apartments nearby and other commercial buildings but overall the setting is alright. We also utilized Open Table and were seated quickly upon arrival.More

I would doubt it. It’s not that type of restaurant. But, you can order online so they must do takeout. I would not do take out for seafood though.
