Thank you, Trip Advisor, for pointing us in the direction of The Rooster as we passed through Hartsville en route to the SC shore. Food: made to order and divine. Coffee: fantastic and fresh. Setting: eclectic and adorable. Service: truly outstanding! My friend ordered the...Pedros Rancheros - a grits bowl with scrambled eggs, avocado, cheese (she swapped out pimento for white cheddar) and a black bean pico mixture. I ordered the Power Bowl, featuring the black bean pico, mushrooms, avocado and quinoa over fresh spinach with a delicious housemade honey jalapeño vinaigrette AND the pimento cheese side order with crostinis. She had a brewed coffee, I ordered a decaf - and we were both very happy. The setting is decorated in a super cute kitschy style. The servers worked together well and were all very friendly and kind - we especially appreciated the patience from our dedicated server as she answered all of our “first timer” questions. Breakfast, brunch and lunch foods are all served all day from 6:30 AM to 2 PM AND there’s a full bar with multiple fun drink specials (we didn’t partake, but would’ve had we not been on the way to a tee time!) This is a gem of a spot for daytime dining - if you’re passing this way, we highly recommend you make this your food stop.More

Great variety of farm to table offerings. My Cobb salad was delicious and just the right amount. For you tea drinkers the iced tea was strong and freshly made. Interior was fun, if it had been warmer we would have chosen the outside patio a...beautiful brick walled location to eat. Pleasant staff, a must try non chain place to eat.More

Excellent and excited menu to make your meal special. I was there for breakfast and I had a wonderful espresso drink that put Starbucks to shame.

Very good food. Not all staff followed COVID-19 safety protocols though (no masks) and that's why I could not give this 5 stars. (Wish I had noticed that before I ordered and ate).

I love that the Courtyard is still open for al fresco dining. The weather is perfect for a nice, warm soup and a crispy spinach, avocado, bacon and green apple salad. And maybe a soy latte to-go. The Thai Noodle Soup is my all-time favorite,...although you can't go wrong with their Tomato Basil choice. The homemade crostini are the perfect addition to any lunch choice.More

I hadn’t been to Hartsville in over ten years and decided to just take a road trip from Columbia SC. One hour drive. Hartsville is a cute little town. Went to lunch at Midnight Rooster. I had the Club Sandwich and it was delicious. My...husband was very impressed with the Hamburger which had Pimento Cheese on it. Tasted homemade. Cute restaurant but we were disappointed that as on August 3 you have to get your food to go with the pandemic. Food was a little expensive but good quality. But they had a little courtyard where you could eat your food at, which we did. We drove around town and looked at houses after lunch and saw Coker College. Nice road trip.More

This little coffee house/restaurant is a unique place to stop in the town of Hartsville SC. It is in an old building and one of the rooms is where to garden entrance once was. The food is mostly farm to table and fresh. Great coffee...and pastries and they do catering.More

My family and I visited The Rooster for Saturday Brunch. We arrived around 10am and were seated immediately. They were busy, but not crowded. Our waitress, Marisa, greeted us promptly and took our drink order. She is fantastic and did a wonder job. For our...meal we had The Miller( local ground grits, pimento cheese, sausage, and scrambled eggs) Steak & Eggs( 4oz filet topped with Worcestershire butter, eggs, toast, and hash browns) and a omelette with cheese, bacon, and ham. Of course, there was fresh ground coffee, Frappés and fresh fruit parfaits. The atmosphere is inviting and the staff is courteous and knowledgeable. The menu has a good selection of items for breakfast and lunch. There are daily specials that are sure to please almost anyone. They are a little pricey for Hartsville, but it is certainly the best breakfast in town and definitely worth a try.More

This is a nice little place with friendly staff. The food is good, but the menu is very limited. If you are not into trendy food, you may find yourself a bit flustered with the menu. I did. Cream and Pimento cheeses seem to star....:( But if you do like trendy stuff- this is your place!More
