We dined here because it was highly suggested in a magazine and by our inn keeper. We enjoyed our dinner, but I thought it was a little overpriced. Fancy names a little twist to the entrees doesn't necessitate a price increase. I had hoped to be seated at one of the outdoor tables, but they were full. The indoor tables... More

Stopped in before seeing a show at "the well". We weren't confident that we would get a seat since we didn't have a reservation. However, the hostess checked and kindly shared that the only tables open were in the bar area or outside. It was too cold to be outside so we tried our luck at the bar. We happened... More

We opted to share a few of the appetizers. The restaurant had great service and we enjoyed the food. If you get table 301 you will have a view over the kitchen... it feels like you sitting in the middle of Master Chef (The TV program) while you eating!!!! It's a lot of fun watching the kitchen prepare the dishes!

We dined here last evening with friends. I was attracted to reserve in order to have the southern fried chicken. I was well rewarded, it was delicious. Another of our group had it and she loved it as well. I was the only one of us who ordered a starter and the gumbo I had was as good as it... More

Delicious food and wine menu at one of the "original" downtown Greenville restaurants from before downtown was popular. Very classy atmosphere with an open kitchen. The duck is phenomenal.

Visited the restaurant with friends. Great meal with wide variety of selections. Desserts worth waiting for but large enough to share. Varied selection of microbrews. Did not see wine list but friends enjoyed their selections.

Really enjoyed the beet salad with goat cheese and marcona almonds. I ordered a crab cake with it and a glass of sauvignon blanc. Dined al fresco on a lovely evening downtown. Very enjoyable!

Went based upon TA reviews...awards all over the wall...BUT, one of our worst meals ever. I had fried chicken on overcooked peas and rice with a hotsauce that tasted straight out of the bottle. My wife had a swordfish special with brussell sprouts hard as a rock and swordfish cooked to extremely well done...we had high expectations and instead this... More

We have been customers of Soby's for years, enjoying their brunch buffet or dining before Peace Center events. The food is consistently good and the ambiance is congenial.

Soby's New South Cuisine is a blend of contemporary cuisine infused with traditional southern ingredients. The restaurant opened in 1997 and is housed in the warm environment of a renovated, century-old building and has a mezzanine level that can accommodate large parties ordering a la carte. Starting with fresh, seasonal ingredients, our chefs transform Southern favorites into something comfortable and fresh. The wine list is a consistent winner of Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast awards. Signature dishes include Barbecue Shrimp and Grits, Fried Green Tomatoes with Jalapeno Pimento Cheese, and Crab Cakes Remoulade.
