We hadn't eaten at Schwaben House in awhile and decided it was time to go back, the food was always very good, but expensive, drink prices always reasonable, and service used to be better. I think our server had too many tables and wasn't as attentive as she should have been if you are trying to create an imagine of... More

Family and I had lunch here today. The food was good, but it wasn't great. I had the cheese spaetzle. The cheese sauce was distinctly odd and not what I expected, having lived in the Schwabia region of Germany. I asked our server what kind of cheese was on the noodles, and she told me a mixture of Cheddar and... More

Hi Travelin_Schoolin, I am sorry you found our restaurant disappointing and that we didn't live up to your expectations. You are right, we could import or buy the more expensive cheeses like Emmantaler, Gruyere or Raclette, (which are regionally more authentic), but then unfortunately we would have to pass the cost on down to you which would result in even... It was my first time here for lunch with a co-worker. I tried the Jäger Schnitzel. I forgot the name of the dish my co-worker tried but there's a picture of it. The spätzle tasted homemade. The server was very attentive and delightful. I would definitely come back.

I arranged to celebrate my father's 90th birthday here with family, 11 people total, and it was the best celebration ever. My Dad wanted to celebrate his birthday at a restaurant that served authentic German food. This was the first time for me to dine here, and I wasn't disappointed in the least. The food was served with good portions,... More

The Schwaben House is a favorite Greenville restaurant for me, an Upstate resident who frequently visits Germany. It has a fairly nondescript appearance on the outside but is lovingly decorated according to the season inside. While the menu is German, don't expect wursts and pretzels; instead, expect German/European fine dining. The soups are among the best I have ever had.... More

Went here for an anniversary dinner. Nice place for a date. Lovely décor, linens on the tables, lite jazz music, but the food was a little bit of a let down. Not the best German food I've ever had. It was a little pricey, too. Our bill was close to $100 and we didn't even order alcohol. Don't recommend it... More

An elegant restaurant on the inside. At first glance we were not sure we wanted to try it as the exterior is nothing fancy. The service was very good. The food was good but I have had better German Cuisine elsewhere. The sauerbraten was along the line of roast beef with gravy, not the flavorful tender dish I have had... More

Schwaben House is one of the more authentic German restaurants I have visited in the states. We lived in Germany for almost four years and developed a love for German food so it was great to find a place that served what we remember. That said, a lot was new to us because we lived in Bavaria and a number... More

From the maultaschen trio appetizer to the lady finger and rum torte, every bite was wonderful! It was also nice that they provided small smoked sausage and bread appetizers to all guests, it was only 2 bites, but it was delicious. The sauerbraten and the jager schnitzel were both good sized and had a great balance of flavors. We will... More

Beef carpaccio to die for...light yet creamy soups to savor, perfectly spiced...Good German Beer on tap...good wine list...salmon with leeks...and of course heavier German fare.... Schnitzel, Spätzle, etc. Serving sizes can be a bit more than the progressive European décor might lead you to expect. Tastefully decorated interior with light jazz as background music makes for a pleasant ambiance. Small... More
