If you are a fan of Belgian food - this is likely your stop. The setting is very nice, downstairs, cool and comfortable, dark woods and quite cozy. The beer selection was large and the tap coming from the ceiling was unique. Wine selections were also good. The limited Belgian menu was a bit pricey and the food was hearty,... More

I was in Greenville for a business trip and decided to go downtown for dinner. Using TripAdvisor, I selected The Trappe Door. Good choice. This is a restaurant in the basement of another pub - very warm decor of wood and brick. I am a fan of European food and this place has a Belgian slant. I had the local... More

A wonderful take on classic Belgian dishes. Reasonably priced for the amount of food and atmosphere. Excellent selection of draft beer as well as imported bottles. We loved the rustic basement setting that had enough ambient sound to not worry about the children being loud but not too loud where you had to yell to hear one another. Quirky entrance... More

It reminds me of a European bar being in a basement off the beaten path kind of a hidden surprise. Go down the alley and come in the back door or come down the stairs from street level through the front. Helps to have a reservation on the weekend or come early right after work through the week or you... More

I love this place. It's in the basement below Wild Wing Cafe on Washington St. At lunch, they have a phenomenal burger (I don't think they serve it at dinner). Probably an inch thick, cooked medium, with gruyere cheese. It is outstanding. I've had the burgers at 4 or 5 other places around town (like Grill Marks, which also has... More

It's dark in this restaurant and we've taken flashlights to read the menu, but the food is great enough to shine through. On Sunday evening after a matinee at the theater, we walked two and a half blocks from the Peace Center and down a flight of stairs to this hidden gem. First let me say that we've been a... More

Moules Frites and a gazillion great beers. I would challenge you to find better Belgian food anywhere in the US but here it is in Greenville, SC! At the bar you can enjoy a selection of absinth as well as a vast array of Belgian and artisanal beers. Enjoy!

Downstairs in a cave-like atmosphere. Food was good but not excellent. We had a good time - great beer (domestic and foreign) selection. Very cozy interior.

This was our first (and last) visit here. It is an unusual restaurant. When you go in the front door, you then go down stairs to get to the dining/bar area. It is very dark. Our server, Melissa, was very helpful. She is the best thing I really have to say about our visit. I had the Bavik Pilsner beer.... More
