I would definitely recommend this place and have. A definite try. We didn't have the mussels but we did have full three courses. All were good.

We finally got here for dinner and it was great. It was very busy but the service was still good. It's in an old brick & wood cellar with interesting architectural details. There are some especially nice corner tables and ones in little niches that are really nice. We had the beef stew, duck, and lamb chops. All were delicious.... More

A few of us evacuees from the Wrath of Hurricane Matthew stayed in Greenville for a few days, during which we were able to patronize a number of downtown restaurants to eat and, better yet, to drink, all in hopes of reducing our tension over events happening back on the coast. I chose The Trappe Door because I'm a great... More

Went there with friends about 8 months ago (Feb, 1016). All in my party enjoyed the unique food and beer that where available. The atmosphere is very cozy and wait staff attentive. We all agreed that we would return.

We had an utterly spectacular experience at the Trappe Door on a Friday night. The restaurant is busy - make a reservation! My wife and I enjoy sitting at a bar, so two bar seats were a perfect opportunity. The bar staff is excellent! I had duck breast and it was superb. My wife ordered the steak frites and it... More

Stopped for lunch while walking around town. Had no idea what to expect. It was one of the best surprises! We had the crepe of the day and the PBLT, both with the Brussels Sprouts Slaw. Everything was incredible, but the slaw was out of this world great. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The decor was unusual -... More

If you are a fan of Belgian food - this is likely your stop. The setting is very nice, downstairs, cool and comfortable, dark woods and quite cozy. The beer selection was large and the tap coming from the ceiling was unique. Wine selections were also good. The limited Belgian menu was a bit pricey and the food was hearty,... More

I was in Greenville for a business trip and decided to go downtown for dinner. Using TripAdvisor, I selected The Trappe Door. Good choice. This is a restaurant in the basement of another pub - very warm decor of wood and brick. I am a fan of European food and this place has a Belgian slant. I had the local... More
