We were visiting Greenville and decided to attend the wine tasting and then stay for dinner afterwards. This place is a gem!! The wine tasting was very informative; wines were tasty and the other participants were enjoyable. The dinner afterwards was stellar! My husband and...I both ordered the filet mignon . . . Very flavorful !! We were able to purchase fabulous a bottle of wine to enjoy with dinner from the shop’s very extensive wine selection. Our server was attentive with a lovely personality. We will absolutely be returning!!More

What a great find. Northampton is an amazing wine bar and restaurant with unique seating amongst the wine crates. The food is delicious, and you can choose your own bottle of vino to have with your meal. Corkage fee is minimal, and this place is...stocked with hundreds if not thousands of bottles of domestic or imported wines. If you can't find it here, you won't find it anywhere. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Seating is quite comfortable with tables spaced apart for good conversation without a bad noise level. I cannot say enough good things about this place. We will be back!More

The atmosphere was excellent. You feel like you are in a wine cellar in Europe. They have the tables scattered through out the wine racks so it’s kinda like you have your own room. You can wander and look at the wines and select whatever...you like for dinner or to take. Food was very good. Menu is limited so do not expect 50 selections. We had this seafood appetizer which was a bit Spicey cooked to perfection. The wine we selected with help was so so good and bc we were splurging we did a second bottle lower priced to compare. If you like or love wine you must go.More

It’s been over two years since we have been here. I’m pleased to say that it is even better than I remember. The menu is a bit more extensive; the food was excellent; and the reorganization of the seating arrangement is SOOO cool now. We...got there early after trekking in Greenville, seeing how much has changed in this area. At the seating, our waiter asked if he should turn down the volume and light brightness, but we were fine. That we started out by listening to Billie Holliday was a clue that this would be a great experience. We started with Venge vineyards Silencieux, a fabulous Cab Sauvignon from a small family-run Napa winery. Even though the cab was young (2019), it had the depth of flavor and body you would expect from a longer-aged wine. As elders, we normally take 2 to 3 days to finish a bottle, but not this time! Gonzo! My wife had the lamb shanks, while I had a perfectly prepared beef filet. Both were delicious. And we topped it off with their rich, thick and tasty chocolate mousse. All in all, a fabulous night. We ended up buying a 6-pack of the Silencieux to go, which will partially be consumed over the holidays. I can’t say enough superlatives as a place to enjoy your meal with superb wine, with attentive staff.More

Had dinner here with another couple. Seated inside in one of the quiet back rooms..as requested in reservation. Really felt like a private dining room in someone’s wine cellar. A number of creative food options both as appetites and main courses, above and beyond the...usual fare. Food was well seasoned and flavourful. Thoroughly enjoyable meal. Had option of getting wine by the glass or bottle or choosing something from their shelves. We knew what we had in mind and were able to find it among their choices. Good thing we knew what we wanted, because our server was brand new and knew nothing about wine. Not his fault, but sort ironic in a wine place. Would most definitely return.More

My husband and I went to Northampton last night from the recommendaton of my sister. We were very excited to try this place since we love great wine and food. We were seated immediately and greeted by our waiter who was very nice, but didn't...have a clue about wine. He told us we could look throughout the store. Richard helped us and recommended a wonderful bottle of wine. The wine he had chosen wasn't chilled so he gave us a more expensive one and discounted it. We were still happy and excited for the rest of the night here....then it went downhill . We ordered our food around 7:10 , Then our waiter was busy with other tables and didn't come by until we finally flagged him down'at around 8 to see what was happening. He said that it would be coming out soon that the Bouillabaisse took longer to cook. He then poured some of our wine and spilled a bit of mine while pouring with an oh well kind of attitude. I totally would have been okay if we had been told about the time frame for the bouillabaisse when ordering or if somone would have at least come by to check on our table. At 8:20 we still had no food and had finished our wine so we got up and went to the register since there was no way we were going to continue to wait. They comped our wine and told us dinner would be out soon, but by this time we were pretty unhappy with the whole situation and starving. and again were not open to waiting any longer. I am hoping this was just a bad night for them, but unfortunately it was a horrible night for our 37th anniversary dinner.More

My husband and I moved to downtown Greenville last November, and Northampton is right around the corner from our apartment. We've been a handful of times, both before the pandemic and recently, and it has been excellent each time. It's more of an intimate setting...than other places that are directly on Main St, which I like. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The chocolate mousse and white chocolate croissant bread pudding are both to die for. Obviously there is a great wine selection, and the staff is great at making recommendations. We had dinner there last night, and they had the tables separated by the wine racks, which I thought was a creative way of handling the current space guidelines. This is definitely one of the top places I would chose downtown to bring visitors.More

Best place in Greenville to eat. Outdoor seating if you want that but indoor is lovely. It’s an old tram brick building stuffed full of wines that you can select for dinner. Prices are great and they just charge $10 to serve whichever wine you...want, even if you bring your own! The food choice is nice and service is fast and friendly. This easily could become our favorite local place to eat. 5 stars! Michael our server was great. Just 2 blocks off Main Street.More

We were blown away by the quality of the food, service and ambience at this restaurant. It's attached to a wine tasting venue that sells all kinds of wines. White linen tablecloths, elegant furnishings and lovely place settings. Shane, our server, was perfect; he was...helpful, knowledgeable, and all our needs were met without us having to ask... and the food! The menu is limited but of the highest quality, extremely well prepared. The Hot Chili Seafood appetizer (perfect calamari and shrimp in an Asian inspired sauce) and the Tapas platter were generous and delicious. Best calamari we've ever had, including overseas travel! The crab cakes were excellent as was the Blackened Salmon. I could go on forever about the luscious desserts, especially the apple berry cobbler, the chocolate mousse, and the dessert trio - little samplers of the larger desserts - a great way to try several at one time. The wine pours were generous as well - it was one of the best meals we've had in Greenville and we've tried many restaurants since we moved here. We can't wait to go back!More

This is a wine store, a wine bar, a casual place to eat after 5 or on Saturday afternoons and a high scale restaurant. Staff is wonderful and a nice wine selection. They also have special wine tastings on Friday nights. This time we just...came in for a glass of wine, which was great. They were featuring a special cheese, which we were offered a taste of and we ended up buying some it was so good. It is off of Main street a bit, but definatley worth the trip.More

One of favorite haunts in Greenville. Food is excellent - we like the hot chili seafood and the apple cranberry nut salad. Wine choices are innumerable and excellent and priced well. Ambience is quiet - can actually hold a conversation. Service is polished and friendly....Would give it 6 stars but 5 is the limit. Check it out - you will not be disappointed.More

Between 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m on Saturdays this venue offers 4 amazing lunch selections. One is usually a fancy burger and the other three change from week to week. Not required, but they also offer a special glass of wine. When I recently met...a girlfriend for lunch at Northampton we both ordered the Trout Almondine that was served with cheesy grits and green beans. It was absolutely delicious!More
