If you are traveling on I77, have some extra time and are hungry, swing by the Flopeye Diner in Great Falls SC. For a slice of southern americana, half way between Columbia SC and Charlotte NC, it is worth a stop. Good food, kitsch decor and southern hospitality at its finest. My yummy Philly steak sandwich was pretty close to... More

I find it hard to get past the ton of decorations in front, but I suppose that makes it unique. Hubby loves it and plans business around it!

Forget the atmosphere. Go for the cook and waitstaff. Together they will deliver you an experience that enhances the food. Basic menu made really good. Where else can you get jumbo shrimp on a skewer with a side order of bologna... if that's your thing.

This diner very much reminds me of simpler times of the 50's and 60's. You have friendly owners and staff treating you as good friends. The physical building itself is old, but it is well maintained. The bathroom was very clean. The food was cooked well and was properly seasoned. I had the country fried steak. It had a very... More

About 15 minutes off I-77 we found this restaurant on the way home from Florida. We stopped for breakfast and it was just like eating at Grandma's home. The staff was friendly and very attentive to our needs. Our waitress paid extra attention to our 3 year old granddaughter keeping her calm during our meal. If you like dining at... More

We stopped for breakfast on our way to Columbia, SC and the place is straight out of the '50s. Looks like a converted gas station and has old paneling on the walls. We were too early for lunch but had a really good breakfast. The menu for lunch was written on a chalkboard and I wished we had stopped later... More

This is literally 1 if 2 places to eat in this tiny town. Everything is made to order so it's all fresh. But it's like a cheers where everyone knows everyone and when we walked in as strangers, everyone stopped what they were doing and stared!

Great home-cooking! Daily lunch specials with meats and vegetables, salads, and awesome old-fashioned hamburgers and cheeseburgers!
