If you are a stranger to Georgetown you would drive by without thinking twice, that would be a mistake. The lunch menu is fantastic. The sides of fries and salad could not be better. Be prepared for a quaint dining experience.

I really looked forward to eating at the Humble Crumb. Some of the best food is found in small out of the way places and ate here with friends. I lived in Rhode Island and ate Italian regularly in Providence and Boston and have also...been to Italy a few times and Sicily so I try to base my opinion on the area I am eating. That said I have several comments. My first comment was the service. The waitress was yawning while taking our order but besides perhaps being tired she seemed to be the only waitress in the place. She was pleasant so I give her that. I asked for water and the bread that was supposed to come out first and eventually I had to get up myself to get it after we were served the main meal. I realize it may be difficult to run a business but I don't recall the last time I had to do that. The presentation of the salad looked like they threw everything on the plate. I do admit the Blue Cheese dressing was pretty good and the salad itself tasted better than it looked. My wife got an anchovy pizza and she in general liked it but complained there was too much cheese on it and there definitely was. I had Chicken Parmesan $18. Most people dont know that this isnt really an Italian dish and it is also the highest grossing item in an Italian Restaurant. The chicken itself was good as was the gravy, but there was probably a 1/2 cup of pasta on the plate. It looked lost and it looked thrown on the plate trying to make it look like it was more than it was. My friend had the veal parmesan $19 and we were kind of chuckling as he was having a problem cutting it. We weren't sure if the veal was tough or the knife was dull but he had a hell of a time with it. I had to get up and get the grated cheese too. In general the meals were ok, poor service, not a great value but ok. I have seen others rave about this place and that's great. We live in Mt. Pleasant and perhaps its a challenge to be so close to Charleston in general but even considering the area I expected more and won't be back. Its not that it was bad in any way but it was average and even in South Carolina there are much better Italian restaurants.More
We stumbled on this little place and am so glad we did! Food was wonderful! I had the chicken marsala, chicken was seasoned perfectly, sauce was delicious just perfect! My friend had shrimp alfredo and loved it as well! Search out this little local spot...it is well worth discovering !More
Bruschetta, antipasto, lasagna, shrimp scampi, eggplant & chicken parm and chocolate cake w/coffee are consistently good and tonight is no exception. Stayed open late as we caught up w/friends out of town. We appreciate accommodating us and great service to boot :) any criticism would...be that we could use less pasta and more eggplant in eggplant parm.More
Best pizza this side of Wooster St in New Haven CT. (maybe even better}. Owner makes his own pizza dough and ages it. Without a doubt the best pizza on the Grand Strand. Have eaten here numerous times and never disappointed. A good selection of...craft beers on tap and bottled.More
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We appreciate it!
The Humble Crumb is an outstanding restaurant. The décor is unique and quaint. The service is excellent. The owners are the cook and waitress. They are always on site which guarantees excellent service and excellent quality of food. This is authentic Italian cuisine made from...recipes passed down for generations. Locals love it.More
We spent three nights in Georgetown and I wish we'd found the Humble Crumb the first night there. I think we could have eaten there all three nights and been happy. The food was fresh, delicious and the portion sizes were right. I had the...ravioli and my teenage son tried Eggplant Parm and liked it! We finished with the Tuxedo cake which was delicious as well. It was clear there are many regulars there.More
We took a day trip to Georgetown to walk around the river walk. My wife found this place online. It lived up to its reviews. Great lunch specials, really good pizza crust, and good service.
We are so glad that you enjoyed your meal. And thank you for your rating and review!
The Humble Crumb is a tiny restaurant with a tiny parking lot located on Highmarket near the Exxon on the west side of Georgetown. Easy to miss. Not ADA compliant. The restaurant is an old building complete with uneven floors, tight seating, and open kitchen....Perhaps ten tables seating 30 people. Stopped in for lunch with business friends. Ordered the veggie (onion, mushroom, and broccoli) calzone. The breading was quite stiff, but the contents were pretty good. Prices are cheap. Service is polite, prompt, and no frills. This place is a good choice for local eats with humble expectations. Probably not a good choice for a prom date or parties larger than 4.More
Went here for lunch, had whole place to myself! Service was good and attentive, no surprise there considering. Had huge calzone, massive. Enjoyed it for sure! Will try this place again.
Thank you for your review and comments. Luckily, we did fill up shortly after you left. Glad you enjoyed your calzone!
