Two couples had dinner here on a Saturday evening. Nice place in center of Baxter. Service very good. Good food. Accommodated gluten free.

Wow, what an amazing restaurant and meal!! This was our first time and won't be our last. First it is an adorable building in a cute little shopping center. They have seating inside and outside. We started with the zucchini fritters and the beet salad....They were both fantastic. Next time I go I am getting an order of the fritters just for me, no sharing - they were that awesome. The beet salad wS delish too. Would order that again too to share. For the meal my husband had the shrimp & grits. He really liked it but would try something else from the menu. I got the sautéed scallops with crab risotto, a squash blossom and veggies. WOW!! I can't say enough about this dish. The risotto was perfect. The scallops cooked perfectly and the veggies had a ton of flavor and that squash blossom was amazing!! I would like to try other things but it will be very hard not to order that again. One note we were there at 4:30 and dinner specials and bread don't start til 5. We did ask for bread to be brought out when it was ready. Good God it was good. It was super tasty, crispy and buttery. I was too stuffed for dessert but my husband got the apple pot pie with snickerdoodle ice cream. It was delish too. Not one thing I would change about our experience. Really fantasticMore

Special dinner out for us. Anniversary. We both like sea food and were told this place was very good. We found it to be so. Quickly seated. Food was exceptional. Service was good though somewhat indifferent. We would recommend it for a special night out...for seafood. Value in question due to high price.More

Was in Fort Mill for a business trip and saw Fish Market online. We hadn’t decided on a restaurant, but thought Baxter Village was a good place to start and heard numerous recommendations for this place. With no reservation, we were immediately accommodated with seating...outside as requested. The spring menu offered a varied assortment of starters and entrees that our group had no problem choosing from. The cheese board was amazing, but the zucchini fingers were only okay. Our group ordered seafood dishes (Sea Bass and Salmon) as well as a Steak Salad. Everyone thought their entrees were amazing. The highlight was when Selena delivered a bottle of wine to our table that we ordered. She checked on our food, made sure everything was to our satisfaction and shared a brief story of her experience with the wine we had ordered. I thought her attention to detail of our experience was outstanding so much that we asked if we could see her again as we finished our meal to thank her. Great food, even better experience. Will talk about to everyone we know. Thank you for the commitment to making sure we were happy and felt taken care of Selena. Well done!More

I have always looked forward to dining at the Fish Market, however I was very disappointed this time. We often go for lunch and my husband enjoys the cod fish n chips. He ordered it for dinner and tho more expensive he got the same...amount as lunch and the coleslaw was not good. I ordered mussels and was disappointed in the amount of salt in a heavy sauce. The bread ordered was pieces of French bread grilled too much but helpful for sauce sopping.More

This upscale restaurant in FtMill is well worth your time if you are a tourist or a local. Their shrimp and grits are low-country worthy-and that says a lot! The she crab soup is very tasty as are the salmon tacos. I don’t think you...can go wrong with any item on the menu.More

As you would expect the menu is mostly seafood. Started with an Excellent cup of gumbo. We Split the mussels appetizer and was disappointed. The curry sauce e was not a good pairing with mussels. Had the crab stuffed grouper for entree. It was good....Came with fingerling potatoes and a few brussel sprouts. Would come again as I come to this area a lot for work. Is in a cool little area with lots of shops and restaurantsMore

The Fish Market has been one of our favorite restaurants since they opened. However, something must have happened. Apparently there is a new chef, and it is not the same quality of food. The service was still very good, but the food unfortunately was not...anywhere what it used to be. The mussels used to be in a light garlic and white wine sauce but are now in a creamy yellow sauce (please bring back the old!) Also, the fish and chips .. way overbattered and heavy, and we asked specifically for lightly battered. In addition, the menu is a third of the size it used to be.. nowhere near the number of appetizers and entrees they used to have. Also, two members of our party ordered the special, and at 7:15 it was not available anymore. The restaurant was half full, so why no longer available? Very disappointing 😞More

Celebratory birthday lunch on the patio. Lovely but very warm day - ambiance was very nice. I'm from New England and LOVE seafood. I was so looking forward to the Strawberry Almond Salad WITH Scallops, which I unfortunately presumed would make a nice, light filling...meal. The salad was very ordinary - Spring Mix that I can buy at any grocery store and the Feta cheese was almost non-existent (little specks of white). Added the Scallops - only two! What a joke! You must be kidding! Unacceptable to pay $12 for two scallops. At 126 pounds, I left hungry. We headed to TCBY to fill in the empty spaces. (I will be making this meal at home and it will win rave reviews hands down.)More

We have had 3 meals in the last few weeks at The Fish Market. The brunch has a little of everything you could want on it and is really good and a good amount of food for the price. My husband has the shimp and...grits and i tasted it. The best I have ever had. It is worth sitting outside on a lovely day on the weekend, having a nice meal outside on their patio. The building is like an Antebellum house...so very pretty. The inside is nice and spacious with a nice bar... we love the outdoor patio. Its worth the try. A little walk around the other shops after a meal is lovely too. Excellent wait staff.More

We were passing through Ft. Mill and wandered into the little prefabricated town of Baxter Town Center. The reviews for the Fish Market were hit or miss. We gave it a try on a weeknight. The weather was warm enough to dine outside on a...porch-like patio. We were greeted warmly by our server. It took a while before drink orders were taken with many apologies. Try the maple rye sour if you want something sweett and tart. Appetizers were bacon-wrapped scallops and fried (sauteed until crispy not battered) brussels sprouts. If you love brussles sprouts this is a generous portion for you. The scallops were tasty and were four to the serving. The entrees were the grilled salmon over tortellini in a cream sauce. Simple and delicious. Another entree was the special:a swordfish dish that was also good. A large dessert tray was brought over to tempt and it succeded. The trio of chocolate, pistachio, and traditional creme brulee was chosen. It would have been better warm rather than cold, but it was good enough to cap off the meal. While the service timing was a bit uneven, the server was quite gracious and apologetic. Over all it was good. It was a solid 3.5 stars on this particular evening. Would go back another time.More

I was really looking forward to going out to brunch to the fish market because the area is so pretty and the place looks beautiful. I was very surprised at how bad the food was, I really hate leaving reviews like this but I cannot...believe how many people are saying this place is good, it wasn’t just OK , it was bad nothing was good and I felt embarrassed that we even went. Apparently I have to leave when we were there on this review if I am not mistaken it was May 2019. The only reason I am leaving the review now is because my daughter-in-law I wanted to take us to brunch and I said please no , not thereMore

We didn't have reservations so had to eat in the bar area. Very popular place especially on a Wednesday night. Food was good but unfortunately service wasn't the greatest. Probably the result of sitting in the bar area.
