It's well worth the drive for very good classic southern cooking in Fort Lawn SC. This family owned and operated restaurant has apparently been a favorite in the area for decades. Bring your appetite but not your credit cards. Portions are large and they don't take credit cards - but do provide an ATM on site. The fried squash is... More

The owners make sure the Wagon Wheel has great food, good value, ample serving sizes, and very nice wait staff. The best item is their fried squash with ranch dip as an appetizer. All of their vegetables are fresh, not canned. They have awesome food. My family that is local goes to eat here weekly and when I'm in town,... More

A couple that was a long time friend from Texas came by on way to Charleston. Where to take them for a memorable meal. The Wagon Wheel fit the bill. These are senior citizens and not easily impressed. Needless to say they were overwhelmed. Steak with rice, greens, fried squash, cornbread, cucumber salad, southern tea. Service to match the food. And the best value in... More

At first I did not want to try but she said it was great and not greasy. She was right the squash was great. Had the BBQ lunch special... More

Everything is tasty at the Wagon Wheel, but even if you don't like squash, get some fried squash... they are famous for it and it is soooo good!!! The lunch specials every day have a large variety to choose from and the salad bar is always fresh.

The Wagon Wheel has an excellent variety on the menu as well as a very good salad bar. Their fried yellow squash is "the best" anywhere. Be sure to get a side of that no matter what else you order. The serving is huge and will serve several people. I had the Seafood Platter. The fish was excellent, but the... More

This restaurant does so many things really well. It has a little bit of that arrogance that you occasionally see in a long time, very well established restaurant. Complain about a chopped steak ordered medium that is emulating a briquet and the response is "that's the way we do them", spoken over the shoulder while walking away. That behavior does... More

If you like fried foods you will love this very busy place. We were seated very quickly though. The fried squash as mentioned was good appetizer. My wife's fish was mediocre but my beef tips was more like steak and was good.

Flew into the local airport on business and decided to go to the wagon wheel. Food was good, it's a good southern cooking style kinda place. I had the power pork and greens. The one thing to be aware of is; they only take cash or check. They do have an ATM in the restaurant which was a huge help.... More
